3Turning the Power ON
After inserting the batteries according to the “+” and “-” symbol in
the battery compartment, press and hold the Power Button for about
1 second to start up meter.
*The startup screen will be displayed, followed by the measuring
screen.
*Press and hold the Power Button for about 1 second to turn the
meter off.

This example explains how to measure light using the ambient light
T value (shutter speed) priority mode.
1) Touch the Measuring Mode icon at the top left of the Measuring screen to
enter the Measuring Mode Selection Screen.

Measuring Preparations (Setting Lumisphere)
The Lumisphere can be extended or retracted to obtain the best
light measurements for different types of subjects.
Selecting Lumisphere setting
•Turn the Lumisphere retracting ring to set the aligning mark with the
corresponding symbol (extended /retracted ) until it clicks into
place.

7Measuring Light
This section explains how to take an incident-light measurement
using the extended Lumisphere and a reected-light measurement
using the optional 5-degree Viewnder attachment.
1) Incident Light
Position the meter in front of the subject with the extended Lumisphere
facing towards the camera’s lens axis. Press the measuring button to
measure the light falling on the subject.
2) Reected Light (with 5-degree viewnder attachment sold separately)
Look through the nder eyepiece from the position of camera, place the
desired area to be measured within the yellow circle and press the measuring
button to measure the light reected from the subject.

Setting Radio Triggering Mode and Channel / Groups
The following describes how to set the Radio Flash Mode with Phottix.
1) Touch the Measuring mode icon ( ) at the top left of the Measuring
screen and then select the Radio Flash Mode ( ).
The following describes how to select the channel and group for
using Phottix.
1) Touch the Tool Box icon ( ) at the bottom right of the Measuring
screen to display the Tool Box screen.
2) Touch the [STRATO CH/Group] button to display the STRATO CH/Group
Setting screen.
3) Touch the arrows ▲/▼or slide your nger over the screen to select a
channel from 1 to 4.
4) Touch one or more Groups (A, B, C, D) to select the ash groups you want
to use.
* Group to use can be selected from Flash Control Screen as well.
5) Touch [OK] to conrm settings and return to the Measuring screen. (Touch
[Cancel] to go back to the Measuring screen without change.)

The following describes the other measuring modes available to
meet your shooting needs.

Displays f-stop values (apertures numbers) for input shutter
speed and ISO values.
Ambient light F stop(aperture) priority mode
Displays shutter speed values for input F stop and ISO values.
Ambient light TF (Shutter speed and F stop) priority mode.
Displays ISO value for input shutter speed and F-stop.
Ambient light HD Cine mode
Displays F-stop value for input shutter speed, frame rate and ISO
values.

Flash Measurement
The following describes how to trigger the ash units to measure
total exposure in Radio Flash Mode.
1) Set the desired shutter speed and ISO sensitivity on the Measuring screen.
2) Press the Measuring button to trigger the ash units that have been set in
advance with channel and groups.
3) To select a different group or combinations of groups for an exposure
measurement, go to the Tool Box or the Flash Control screen (See next
page).

Flash Measurement
The following describes how to trigger the ash units of each group
in Flash Control screen.
1) Touch the Flash Control icon ( ) on the Measuring
screen to display the Flash Control screen.
2) Select one of Groups (A to D) 3and press the Measuring
button to trigger the ash for the selected Group.
3) The measured value is displayed at the center of screen
1and over the selected Group button 2.
4) Manually set the ash power level to the ash unit.
5) Press the Measuring button to trigger the ash again for
measurement to conrm that the ash power is set to
desired value.
6) Repeat 2) and 5) above to select and measure other
Groups 3until all ash units have been measured
and the desired F-number is above each Group
button 2.
7) Select all Groups you want to use for the nal
exposure measurement, and press the Measuring
button. Measured value for each Group 2will not
change. The F-number for the measured brightness
of all lights will be displayed in the center of screen
1as total exposure.
* To set ISO sensitivity and shutter speed, press the
Radio Flash Mode icon ( ) to go back to the
Measuring screen.
* If you want to change the channel, press the
CH/Group Selection icon ( ) to directly go
to Strato CH/Group Setting screen (black
background). When pressing [OK], the screen
goes back to the Group Measuring screen.
