escape:
– above the appliance ≥ 70 cm
– to the left and right of the appliance ≥ 20 cm
– behind the appliance ≥ 20 cm
ŶAvoid installing the appliance near an oven or cooker, as this is likely to affect its
performance.
ŶInstall the appliance in such a way that the plug can be accessed. This appliance is
designed to be powered at single-phase230V. It must be plugged into an earthed
socket and protected by a 10 A fuse.
ŶDo not place hot items onto the plastic parts of the appliance.

normal.
7/ USE
Operation
ŶPlug the appliance into a wall socket. The POWER indicator will light up green.
Switching off
ŶTo switch off the appliance, turn the thermostat to the OFF position.
Regulating the temperature
ŶThe temperature regulates itself automatically. To operate the appliance, follow
these instructions:
– turn the thermostat button to MIN for the coldest setting;
– turn the thermostat button to MAX for the least cold setting;
ŶIn general, setting the thermostat to MIN will provide a suitable temperature.
However, you must bear in mind that the temperature inside the appliance
depends on several factors:
– the room temperature
– how often the door is opened
– the volume of food stored
– the location of the appliance
ŶThe position marked is the recommended setting.
The appliance is likely to stop working as normal if it has been operating
for a long time at a temperature lower than the minimum temperature
within the range for which the appliance is designed.
Indicator lights
ŶThe green light indicates that the freezer is running.
ŶThe red light indicates that the temperature inside the freezer is below 18°C
and that the freezing performance can be altered. In such a case, check that
the thermostat is set correctly and turn it to a higher position. If the problem
continues, contact your after-sales service.
Freezing fresh food
The freezer is suitable for freezing fresh foodstuffs and conserving frozen food for a
long time.
The freezing process takes 24 hours: you should not add any other foodstuff to be
frozen during this period.
Storing frozen food
When starting up the appliance or after a prolonged shutdown, set the thermostat to

11
the MAX position for around 2hours before putting products into the compartment.
Warning: in the event of accidental defrosting, as a result of a power cut
for example, if the outage lasts for over 18 hours, consume the frozen food
as quickly as possible, or refreeze them after cooking them (once they have
cooled down).

how they are used before freezing.
USEFUL ADVICE
Advice for freezing
For best results, here is some important advice:
ŶOnly freeze high-quality, fresh foodstuffs (once cleaned).
ŶFor quicker and more uniform freezing, prepare the food in small batches
according to the volume.
ŶWrap food in aluminium foil or in plastic pouches, and make sure the packaging
is air-tight.
ŶDo not allow fresh, non-frozen food to touch food that is already frozen in order
to avoid them from rising in temperature.
ŶLeaner foods keep better and for longer than fatty foods. Salt reduces the storage
life of food.
ŶIt is important to mark packaging correctly: indicate the date on which the
product was frozen and stick to the storage period stated by the manufacturer.
Advice for storing frozen store-bought products
ŶTo properly store frozen store-bought products, you must:
– make sure that they have been correctly kept at the store;
– set aside a small minimum window of time to transport them from the food
store to your home;
– avoid opening the freezer too often and do not leave it open for longer than
necessary.
ŶOnce unfrozen, the food spoils quickly and cannot be refrozen.
ŶStick to the storage period stated by the manufacturer.
ŶDo not touch frozen products coming out of the freezer with wet hands, as this is
likely to cause skin abrasions or burns.
ŶDo not put bottles or cans of carbonated drinks in the freezer compartment, as
the pressure that builds up inside the container is likely to cause it to explode and
damage the appliance.
ŶDo not consume certain products such as ice lollies as soon as they come out of
the freezer, as they could cause burns.

12
Energy saving
ŶBy getting rid of boxes and other packaging before putting food in the freezer,
you will reduce the energy consumption, as the freezer can chill products quicker
in this way.
ŶOn the other hand, if you fill the appliance too much, you will push the compressor
to work for longer, which increases electricity consumption.
ŶNever put hot food in the freezer; allow them to cool down to room temperature
before storing them.
ŶTo defrost certain frozen foods, you can put them in the fridge: the cold generated
by the defrosting is used to chill other foods instead of relying on the refrigerator’s
compressor.
ŶKeep the seal clean and flexible so that the cold cannot escape.
ŶKeep the lid closed and only open the freezer when necessary.
ŶDo not forget that every time you open the lid, cold air is lost and the compressor
will start working again.
ŶFor optimum performance, leave enough space in the freezer to allow air to
circulate around the packages.
Impact on food storage
ŶUnder Recommended setting, the best storage time of fridge is no more than 3
days.
ŶUnder Recommended setting, the best storage time of freezer is no more than 1
month.
ŶThe best storage time may reduce under other settings.
