1. LCD SCREEN
Frequency channel. It changes from 1 to 8 or vice versa
Battery icon, it display when battery level goes low.
Displayed when in Scan mode.
Displayed when Lock function is activated.
Displayed when in volume selection mode.

Displayed when receiving a signal.

2. INSTALLATION
2.1 Removing the Belt clip
Pull the belt clip latch away from the PMR. While pulling up the belt clip
latch, push up the belt clip as shown in fig.1
2.2 Installing the Belt clip
Slide the belt clip into the slot as shown in fig.2. A “click” indicates the
belt clip is properly locked into its position.
2.3 Installing the batteries
Slide down the battery cover. Insert the 3 x AAA rechargeable batteries.
Make sure the batteries will install according to the polarity marking on the
battery compartment as shown in fig.3 Replace the battery cover. See fig.4.
2.4 Charging the batteries using adaptor
Lift up the charge socket cover located on the right side of the handset.
Insert the round connector of the 9.0V DC/300mA adaptor into the charger
jack. Plug the mains adaptor into a 240C AC, 50Hz socket set to Off. Then
switch On the main socket.
Note
• Use only rechargeable type of batteries when using the PMR unit.
• The PMR unit have a built-in power saver (PS) for maximum battery life,
but when not in use,turn the units Off to save the battery power.
• Remove the batteries if the units will not be used for a longer period of time.
Battery meter
The battery meter icon is located in the left corner of of the LCD screen.
This battery icon will displayed when low battery status. This indicates that
the battery level reaches its minimum level. At this stage the handset will
emit two beep tones and then it will automatically turn Off the unit.
Battery life
The PMR has a built-in power saver feature. To make batteries last longer, it is suggested that when the
PMR is not using for longer period of time, it is betterto switch Off to save more battery power.
3. OPERATION
3.1 To switch On/Off the unit
To Switch On;
a. Press and hold the (Power) button. A special beep tone sound will be heard. The LCD screen will
display the current channel.
To Switch Off;
b. Press and hold the (Power) button. A special beep sound will be heard and the LCD screen will
turn blank.
3.2 Adjusting Speaker volume
There are 8 volume levels, the current speaker volume level is displayed on the LCD screen.
To adjust the speaker volume level;
a. Press the or button to increase or decrease the volume level. While pressing these buttons
the LCD screen will display the volume icon bars ascending or descending respectively.
3.3 Receiving a Call
The unit is continuously in receive mode when the is turned On and not transmitting. When signal is
received on the current channel, the receive signalicon “RX” will be displayed on the LCD screen.

3.4 Transmitting
a. Press and hold the PTT (Push to Talk) button to transmit your voice. The transmit signal icon “TX” will
display on the LCD screen.
b. Hold the unit in a vertical position with the Mic (microphone) 5cm away from the mouth. While
holding the PTT button, speak into the microphone in a normal tone of voice.
c. Release the PTT button when you have finished transmitting.
Important:
• In order for other to receive your transmission, they must also be on the same channel that you are using.
Refer to the “Changing Channel” section for more information.
• When the PTT and/or CALL buttons are continuously pressed, your unit can not receive any transmissions.
3.5 Roger Beep tone
The Roger beep tone which is automatically transmitted whenever the PTT button is released. This
alerts the receiving party that you have ended the transmission, and you are now in receive mode.
3.6 Changing Channel
The PMR has 8 available channels. To change channel in normal mode;
a. Press the (Menu) button the channel icon “1” will start flashing.
b. Press the or button to select the desired channel. The channel changes from 1 to 8 or vice versa.
c. Press the (Menu) button to confirm your setting and return to standby mode.

Refer to the “Channel Frequency table” section of this Owner’s Manual for detailed frequency listing.
3.7 Call Tone
You can use the Call tone to send a tone to other users on the same channel. To activate this features;
a. In the standby mode, press and release this button. The unit will transmit a 2 seconds page tone to
the other units with the same channel within transmitting range. .
3.8 Channel Scan
Your radio can scan the 8 channels for any activity. This allows you to find other radios without having to
change the channel.
To activate this feature;
Press and hold the Menu and button at the same time and channel scanning will start
immediately. When signal is detected, the unit will pause for 3 seconds. Press the PTT button to stop
scanning and communicate or press the or button to manually scan the channel. To stop
scanning press the Menu and exit to standby mode.
3.9 Monitor feature
You can use the Monitor feature to check for weaker signals in the current channel.
To activate this feature;
Press and hold the Menu and buttons at the same time. The receiving icon “RX” appear on the
display. Your handset will pick up any signals on the current channel. Press Menu button to stop the
monitoring.
3.10 To Lock the buttons
With the buttons lock you can still transmit (TX), receive or call the current channel, but you can not
change the volume.
To activate this features;
In the standby mode, press and hold the Menu button until lock icon appears on the LCD screen.

To unlock the buttons
Press and hold again the Menu button until lock icon will disappear on the LCD screen.
4. AUXILLIARY FEATURES
4.1 Power Saving
Your PMR unit has special circuitry designed to extend the life of your battery. When the unit is not used
for 4 seconds, it will automatically switch into a low power mode. The power saving feature does not affect
the PMR ability to receive transmissions. When a signal is detected, it automatically return to full power mode.
4.2 Low Battery meter indicator
The PMR can detect the low battery level when battery voltage goes low. The battery icon will display
the low battery status as follows; When battery voltage at low battery level, the empty battery symbol
will appear at this stage and continue to flash. The battery icon will continue to flash until it totally drain
the battery voltage.
Note:
To have good communication once the battery reach in the low battery level, replace the batteries into a new ones.
