SEO CANblu IMMOBILIZER
INSTALLER MANUAL
v 1.91 280621
SEO CANblu IMMOBILIZER – INSTALLER MANUAL
The SEO CANblu is a digital immobilizer that protects a vehicle through disabling its mobility by
sending the appropriate commands to the cars ECU and/or BCM controllers. The code blocking can
be done by both CAN BUSes (see the appropriate installation diagrams). It’s also possible to break
an electric circuit using an analog cut with a solid-state control output (1A load). As with the basic
immobilizer, the SEO CANi, the CANblu is disarmed by entering a previously set code using the
existing buttons in the car (PIN code). In addition to this the SEO CANblu also includes a transceiver
channel, the immobilizer is disarmed when the ID transmitter or smartphone stays within its range.
The PIN code can be reset by setting the 5-digit program number for the vehicle again.
The CANblu immobilizer can be connected to an external car alarm system as an additional layer of
security. It can also provide extra security in cars with keyless entry. If the device is connected to an
external system, such as a GPS/GSM tracker, remote immobilization from this device will take
priority over the PIN code immobilization from the CANblu. Unlike other car security systems the
CANblu can be installed on electric cars, and can be used in car sharing.
The PIN code is formed from a combination of the cars existing buttons. The number of combinations
of the PIN code (W) is given by
𝑊𝑘
𝑛= 𝑛%
, where n is the number of supported buttons (≤30) and k
is the number of buttons in the PIN code (≤15) (including repetitions). If the number of supported
buttons for a particular vehicle does not permit at least 10,000 combinations (e.g. Renault cars)
(see the formula above), use the SEO CANblu instead of SEO CANi as the car security system to
maintain security.
The CANblu immobilizer can be disarmed either by the ID transmitter, a smartphone or PIN code.
When the immobilizer is armed, there are few possible ways of protecting the vehicle from theft
(depending on the car model, engine type, and fittings):
a) Preventing the engine from starting
b) Engine shutdown – it’s possible to start the engine, but it stops when the thief attempts to drive
the vehicle away
• For vehicles with automatic transmission, the engine stops when the gear stick is
moved from the P position,
• For vehicles with manual transmission, the engine stops when the clutch pedal is
pressed.
c) Preventing the vehicle from moving – the SEO CANblu immobilizer allows you to start the
engine, but you are not able to drive away. The engine is not shot down,
d) Preventing the ignition from being switched on – the SEO CANblu immobilizer does not
allow you to switch on the ignition.
The complete database of supported vehicles and associated connection diagrams can be found
at www.can24.pro. You will need to log in. The connection diagram shows the program number
specific to that car as well as the buttons available for entering the PIN code and the dashboard
indicator. The immobilizer’s microcontroller may include programs for all declared vehicles.
v 1.91 280621
The step-by-step installation procedure
• connect the GROUND cable,
• then connect + 12V,
• set a 5-digit program number dedicated to the car, using the PCB button and LED (see: setting
the 5-digit program number); the program number can also be set using the O351 interface.
• connect CAN L,
• connect CAN H,
• in case of SEO CANblu P/N 3977xxxx connect also LIN1,
• set the PIN code to be used when disarming the immobilizer (optional).
ATTENTION! Do not use the power supply from the OBD port. To increase security you could
consider removing the CAN wires from the OBD connector (or connect these wires with the use
of a relay and PIN9 of SEO device) ii you choose to do this the garage/workshop should be
informed at every visit.
The SEO CANblu immobilizer can only communicate with the CAN bus when it’s properly
connected and transmission has been established, i.e. the LED on the main unit flashes. Always
connect all wires indicated in the connection diagram. Disconnecting the device or just cutting the +
12 V power wire will prevent the device from working effectively. The user should be informed
where the SEO CANblu main unit has been mounted. By default, the device is set to the neutral
program number 11120.
ATTENTION! After setting the program number and installing the device, the immobilizer will
not block the car, if the PIN code has not been set or the wireless transmitter has not appeared
within the SEO CANblu signal range. The wireless transmitter must appear in range of the
SEO CANblu at least once or the PIN code must be set for the immobilizer to block the car
The SEO CANblu immobilizer can work with any AVL (Automatic Vehicle Location) device
equipped with a control output. Connecting the device to a GPS/GSM tracker enables remote
immobilization. An external constant grounding on PIN6 in SEO CANblu P/N 2761xxxx or on PIN2
in SEO CANblu P/N 3977xxxx of the 10-PIN immobilizer connector immobilizes the vehicle whether
or not the immobilizer has previously been disarmed with the PIN code. This method of
immobilization works even in service mode. If PIN6 in SEO CANblu P/N 2761xxxx or PIN2 in SEO
CANblu P/N 3977xxxx is grounded while the vehicle is in motion the immobilization will occur after
the vehicle has stopped and the ignition is switched off.
A version of the SEO CANi that is used only with GPS/GSM trackers (without the option of using
PIN code) is also available. Another version of SEO CANblu is also available, please check Add-on
for SEO CANblu on the last page of this document
The SEO CANblu immobilizer will not disarm when the car is opened using the lock cylinder (using
the key). The immobilizer can only be disarmed when the car is opened with a remote control or
keyless.
It should be possible for the user to cut off the power supply to the device in an emergency (e.g. by
adding a fuse in the fuse box, the removal of which will cut off the power supply to the device, or
informing the user about the place of installation of the device)
v 1.91 280621
Setting the 5-digit Program number dedicated for a particular vehicle
The main unit’s LED and switch (the one located closer to the connector) allows you to enter the
correct program number for the vehicle. The program number can be found on the list of vehicles
supported by SEO CANi immobilizer and on connection diagram dedicated to the vehicle.
Press and hold the button until the LED starts to flash, then release the button; the LED will start
counting (from 1 to 9) to indicate the first digit of the five digit program number. To program the first
digit press and hold the button after the correct number of flashes until the LED starts to flash again,
then release the button. Program the next digits of the program number in the same way. The LED
will flash 10 times after programming is completed successfully. Then the main unit will then restart,
which is signaled by a double flash of the LED.
Checking the program number:
Press the button briefly, the LED of the main unit will blink out the 5-digit pre-set program number
and then the connection status of the 6 connected CAN BUSes (even if the device is connected only
to 2 CAN BUSes). The number of flashes indicates the status of 6 CAN BUSes:
1 flash – CAN is connected or has already been connected but does not receive any data at the moment
(i.e. the CAN BUS is in sleep mode);
2 flashes – CAN is connected and is receiving data at the moment;
3 flashes – CAN is disconnected, but requires connection;
4 flashes – CAN is not supported, no connection required.
Setting/changing the button combination, i.e. PIN code used to disarm the
immobilizer
For the description of icons of available buttons – see the list below. The list of buttons
available in a particular vehicle can be found on respective connections diagrams and on the list of
vehicles supported by SEO CANblu immobilizer. Disarm the immobilizer by entering the existing
PIN code or using paired ID transmitter before programming a new buttons combination. The initial
programming (during the installation of the device) does not require disarming, just follow the
programming procedure described below.
With the ignition switched ON, press the gas (acceleration) pedal 10 times (if the gas pedal is
supported in a given vehicle). Enter any combination of 1 through 15 supported buttons pressing the
supported switches. Turn the ignition OFF to confirm the new PIN code (setting the PIN code will be
confirmed by one blink of dashboard indicator). If you will not switch the ignition OFF within 10
seconds after entering the last button, the new PIN code will be discarded.
Entering into the programming mode is signaled by a double blink of the indicator on the
vehicle’s dashboard. The light indicating the status of the immobilizer is marked on the list of
supported vehicles of the SEO CANblu immobilizer in the vehicle name column.
The installer can enter the programming procedure in a different way, by entering the Program
number 11999 while the ignition is ON – enter the combination as above.
v 1.91 280621
Updating the software with the O351 programmer device
Connect the SEO CANblu device through O351 programmer device to the computer to update the
immobilizer database. For this purpose along with the programmer device we also provide the PC
software necessary for the update. The programmer device can update the database of supported
vehicles.

ID button on the immobilizer’s main unit
• Press the ID button once – checking the number of programmed ID transmitters and
smartphones to the immobilizer main unit. The number of flashes of the LED indicates the
number of programmed devices.
• 2 presses of the ID button + hold – entering into the pairing mode of a new ID transmitter or
smartphone. If the new device is not programmed in, press the ID button 1 time to exit the
procedure.
• 4 presses of the ID button + hold – removing ALL paired ID transmitters and smartphones
from the main unit.
RHD cars
If, in the car in which you install the immobilizer, it is armed not when the driver's door is
opened, but when the passenger door is opened, you can "swap" the door in the software.
To do this, enter the program number for the particular car, then enter program number 11981.
The return to the standard door recognition occurs when the program number for the particular car is
set.
If the device was installed before 2020-11-04 and later updated, but the program number for
a particular car has not been re-set, the immobilizer will be armed when the right door is opened. To
"swap" the doors, set the program number for the selected car again.

Add-on for SEO CANblu 276111xx
The 276111xx&276112xx and 397711xx&397712xx versions of SEO CANblu differ only in the
functionality of PIN9.
ãFUNCTIONALITY FOR GPS/GSM SYSTEMS
Applies to SEO CANblu 276111xx (functionality is active in new device by default and after
each program number change):
• There is no GND on PIN9 output when the ignition is OFF or when the ignition is ON and
the ID transmitter or previously paired smartphone is within the SEO CANblu signal range,
• If, within 2 seconds after switching the ignition ON, the ID transmitter or previously paired
smarthone is not within the SEO CANblu signal range, a GND will appear on the PIN9 output,
• While the ignition is switched ON for more than 2 seconds and there is GND on the PIN9
(because the ID transmitter was out of SEO CANblu signal range), the GND will disappear
from the PIN9 when the ID transmitter appears within the SEO CANblu signal range,
• Service mode has no impact on the PIN9 output (when in service mode, GND will still appear
if the immobilizer is not disarmed).
ãFUNCTIONALITY FOR CAR ALARM SYSTEMS
Applies to SEO CANblu 276111xx after changing of the functionality (22982):
• To activate the following functionality, set the program number for the particular vehicle and
then enter the program number 22982. Return to basic functionality after entering program
number 22981,
• There is no GND on PIN9 output when the ignition is OFF or when the ignition is ON and
the ID transmitter or previously paired mobile phone is within the SEO CANblu signal range
or the device was disarmed using pin code,
• If, within 5 seconds after switching the ignition ON, the ID transmitter or previously paired
smartphone is not within the SEO CANblu signal range or the correct pin code is now entered,
a GND will appear on the PIN9 output,
• While the ignition is switched ON for more than 5 seconds and there is GND on the PIN9
(because the ID transmitter was out of SEO CANblu signal range or the correct pin code was
not entered), the GND will disappear from the PIN9 when the ID transmitter or previously
smartphone appears within the SEO CANblu signal range or when the correct pin code is
entered,
• Activating the service mode results in no GND appearing on PIN9.
ãFUNCTIONALITY FOR SIREN CONTROL
Applies to SEO CANblu 276111xx after changing of the functionality (22983):
• To activate the following functionality, set the program number for the particular vehicle and
then enter the program number 22983. Return to basic functionality after entering program
number 22981,
• There is no GND on PIN9 output when the ignition is OFF (except when the ignition is turned
off when there is ground on PIN9) or when the ignition is ON and the ID transmitter or
previously paired mobile phone is within the SEO CANblu signal range or the device was
disarmed using pin code,
• If, within 5 seconds after switching the ignition ON, the ID transmitter or previously paired
smartphone is not within the SEO CANblu signal range or the correct pin code is now entered,
a GND will appear on the PIN9 output. The output will be active for 30 seconds, regardless
of whether the ignition is ON or OFF,
• While the ignition is switched ON for more than 5 seconds and there is GND on the PIN9
(because the ID transmitter was out of SEO CANblu signal range or the correct pin code was
not entered), the GND will disappear from the PIN9 after 30 seconds or when the ID
transmitter or previously smartphone appears within the SEO CANblu signal range or when
the correct pin code is entered (depending on what comes first),
• Activating the service mode results in no GND appearing on PIN9.
