Getting Started
Turn the light on or o using the On/O
switch on the back of the light head
(inset diagram 1).
Note: e Heavyweight model also has a
switch in the cable. is cable switch needs
to be in the ON position in order for the
light to work.
Positioning
Your light has been designed to allow you to
easily direct the light pattern just where you
need it.
It is equipped with a swivel joint at the lamp
head for ne positioning (inset diagram 2)
and robust exible stay-put arm with a
lifetime guarantee.

Adjusting Your Beam
In addition, incorporating our very latest
LED light engine technology, the light head
can be adjusted independently to change the
beam width. By simply gently pulling the
bulb lens you can adjust the beam from a
wider area to a narrow, more concentrated
spot (diagram 3).
Plugs & Fuses
Your Alex Varifocus Light is equipped with
a 10 cable and is fuse-protected at the plug
and internally. Your light is supplied with a
3 amp fuse which is located in the plug. Do
not replace with any higher rating of fuse.
Table Accessories
Heavyweight Table Lights are equipped with
pen and glasses holders. One or both of
these can be removed if you wish.
eRetaining Cap (1) is a friction t and
releases if squeezed and lied. If it seems
a little sti,you can loosen it by gently
levering BOTHholders (2) on either side.
Once the Retaining Cap has been released,
remove one or both holders and then clip
the capback into place (diagram 4).

To undo
Changing your Bulb
Disconnect your light from the power and
allow 30 minutes for everything to cool
down. To access the bulb cavity, simply
unscrew the front ribbed shade by rotating
anti-clockwise (diagram 5).
Turn bulb gently one quarter turn anti
clockwise to release. Remove old bulb and
dispose of carefully.
Insert the new bulb by locating the two
male pins into the wide sections of the
female socket, and turn bulb gently one
quarter turn clockwise to lock.
Replace the front cover by screwing on to
the lamp head.
Standard replacement bulb is part number
15132A
Warning – use only approved bulbs.
