How to use your raclette grill
Before first use
Remove any packing materials completely.
Before using your raclette grill for the first time,
clean the cooking top and the mini pans with
a damp cloth.
We recommend you to heat up the appliance
for about 10 minutes, without any food stuffs,
to eliminate the “new” smell which may be
emitted when it is first switched on. A small
amount of smoke may also be noticeable,
therefore ventilate the room during this
operation. Before the food to be grilled is
placed onto the cooking top, the cooking
top should be lightly greased with a small
amount of oil specifically intended for
frying, which may be safely heated to high
temperatures.
Variable thermostat
If you turn the thermostat knob to the highest
setting, the heating element will permanently
be switched on. If you turn the thermostat knob
to a lower setting, the heating element will
switch off from time to time and then switch
on again.
The indicator light remains lit as long as the
heating element is switched on.
After use, turn the thermostat knob to its lowest
setting and unplug the appliance from the
mains supply.
Operation
∙Place the cooking top onto the appliance.
∙Connect the raclette grill to the mains
supply socket and preheat for about 10
minutes before use.
∙If required, place the food to be grilled
onto the cooking top.
∙Put the raclette cheese into the mini pans.
Place the mini pans into the appliance,
underneath the heating element, and
leave them until the cheese has melted.
Warning: Do not place empty mini pans
into the appliance while it is switched on.
∙When grilling is finished, unplug the
appliance from the mains supply socket.
How to prepare raclette cheese
Use about 200 to 300 grammes of cheese
per person. Cut the cheese into slices of
about 3 to 5 mm thickness and put them
into the mini pans. It is preferable to use
the original raclette cheese. Any other fast
melting cheese, however, will also do. Due

11
to the top heat, the cheese will melt quite
quickly.
Practical hints
∙Frozen food should always be properly
thawed before it is cooked.
∙To avoid damage to the coating of the
cooking top and mini pans, only use non-
abrasive utensils.
∙When grilling on the cooking top, the
accumulated fat should be carefully
removed from time to time.
Cleaning and care
∙Before cleaning the appliance, always
make sure that the plug has been
removed from the mains supply socket
and allow the appliance to cool down.
∙To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the appliance with water and do not
immerse it in water.
∙Do not use harsh abrasive detergents.
∙Wipe the outer surfaces of the raclette grill
with a clean damp cloth.
∙Remove the cooking top from the
appliance and clean it in warm soapy
water. Dry thoroughly afterwards.
∙Clean the mini pans in warm soapy water
and dry them thoroughly afterwards.
