open the lid, and fill the container with
water to the desired level, observing the
Min (0.5 l) and Max (1.0 l) markings.
∙Close the lid and place the container back
on its base.
∙Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket
and press the On/Off switch; the indicator
light comes on.
∙The boiling process begins. After
reaching the boiling point, the appliance is
automatically switched off by the integral
steam cut-off device; the indicator light
goes out.
∙To interrupt the boiling process, set the
On/Off switch to its Off position.
∙To pour hot water, remove the container
from its base.
∙To prevent hot steam from being emitted,
ensure that the lid remains closed while
pouring out the water.
∙Remove the plug from the wall outlet after
use (the red indicator light goes out).
∙Do not leave any residual water in the
container.
Power cord wind-up storage
The wind-up power cord storage under the
base facilitates limiting the length of the
power cord during use and makes it easy to
store the appliance.
Descaling
∙Depending on the water quality in your
area, lime deposits may build up on the
heating element. It is advisable to remove
any such deposits at regular intervals.
∙Any warranty claim will be null and
void if the appliance malfunctions
because of insufficient descaling.
∙A mixture of 0.5 litres of water and 40 ml
of vinegar essence is suitable.
∙Pour the descaler in.
∙Switch the appliance on and let the
solution reach boiling point.
∙Leave it to take effect for a short period.
∙To clean the container after descaling,
rinse thoroughly with clean water.
∙During descaling, ensure sufficient
ventilation and do not inhale any vinegar
vapours.
∙Do not pour descalers down enamel-
coated sinks.
Sieve
If necessary, the strainer can be removed
from the spout for cleaning. Re-insert the
strainer afterwards.
Cleaning and care
∙Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it is
disconnected from the power supply and
has cooled down completely.
∙To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the kettle and the base with water
and do not immerse them in water. Do not
clean under running water.
∙For cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-free
cloth may be used.
∙Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions, and do not use hard brushes
for cleaning.
