Water kettle
Dear Customer,
Before using the appliance, the user must
read the following instructions carefully.
Connection to the mains supply
e appliance should only be connected to an
earthed socket installed in accordance with
the regulations. Make sure that the supply
voltage corresponds with the voltage marked
on the rating label. is product complies
with all binding CE labelling directives.

Important safety instructions
Before the appliance is used, the main unitz
as well as any attachment tted should
be checked thoroughly for any defects.
Should the appliance, for instance, have
been dropped onto a hard surface, it must
not be used any longer: even invisible
damage may have adverse eects on the
operational safety of the appliance.
e power cord should be regularlyz
examined for any signs of damage. In the
event of such damage being found, the
appliance must no longer be used.
Do not operate the appliance if excessivez
force has been used to pull the power
cord. Damage cannot always be detected
from the outside; the entire unit should
therefore be checked by a qualied
technician before it is used again.

Do not operate the appliance below az
hanging cupboard or similar object;
there is a risk that escaping steam may be
trapped underneath.
Do not leave the water kettle unattendedz
during operation. Use only pure water
when lling the container to the desired
level, observing the Min. and Max.
markings.
Overlling the container may causez
danger from boiling water being forced
out.
Also beware of the danger of scaldingz
from hot steam being emitted around the
spout area. erefore, do not touch any
parts of the appliance except the handle
during use.

Caution!zDuring the boiling process and
when pouring out hot water, the lid must
be kept closed at all times.
e kettle may only be operated with thez
base provided with the appliance.
e appliance must be used only on a heat-z
resistant and level surface, impervious to
water stains.
Do not allow the appliance or its powerz
cord to come into contact with open
ames or any hot surfaces such as hot-
plates.
Do not let the power cord hang free, andz
keep the cord well away from hot parts of
the housing.
Always remove the plug from the wallz
socket


in case of any malfunction,-

before cleaning the appliance.-
When removing the plug from the wallz
socket, never pull on the power cord;
always grip the plug itself.

results from improper use, or if these
instructions are not complied with.

ermal safety cut-out
e preset thermal safety cut-out protects
the heating element from overheating should
the appliance be erroneously switched on
without any water, or if the heating element is
calcied. Once the safety cut-out has switched
o the kettle, it must be allowed to cool down
suciently, or must be descaled before it is
switched on again.
Before using for the rst time
For reasons of hygiene, discard the rst three
lling of water.
Boiling water
Never remove the water container from thez
base (or replace it) while the appliance is
switched on.
Remove the water container from its base.–
Take o the lid and ll the container with–
water to the desired level, observing the
Min. and Max. markings.
Replace the lid and put the container back–
on its base, before switching the appliance
on.
Insert the plug into a suitable wall socket–
and press the On/O switch. e indicator
light comes on.
e boiling process begins. Aer reaching–
the boiling point, the appliance is
automatically switched o by the integral
steam cut-o device. 
e indicator light
goes out.
If you want to interrupt the boiling–
process, set the On/O switch to its O
position.
To pour hot water, remove the container–
from its base.
To prevent hot steam from being emitted,–
ensure that the lid remains closed while
pouring out the water.
Remove the plug from the wall outlet aer–
use.
Do not leave any residual water in the–
container.
Power cord wind-up storage
e wind-up power cord storage under the
base facilitates limiting the length of the
power cord during use and makes it easy to
store the appliance.
Descaling
Depending on the water quality in your area,
limedepositsmaybuildupontheheatingplate.
It is advisable to remove any such deposits at
regular intervals. Any warranty claim will
be null and void if the kettle malfunctions
because of insucient descaling.
A mixture of 0.5 litres of water to two
tablespoons of vinegar essence is suitable.
Pour the descaler in.–
Switch the appliance– on and let the
solution reach boiling point.
Leave it to take eect for a short period.–
To clean the container aer descaling,–
rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Do not pour descalers down enamel-z

coated sinks.
General cleaning and care
Before cleaning the appliance, ensure it isz
disconnected from the power supply and
has cooled down completely.
To avoid the risk of electric shock, do notz
clean the kettle and the base with water
and do not immerse them in water. Do
not clean under running water.
For cleaning, a slightly damp, lint-freez
cloth may be used.
Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaningz
solutions, and do not use hard brushes for
cleaning.
Disposal
Do not dispose of old or defective
appliances in domestic garbage;
this should only be done through
public collection points.
Guarantee
is product is guaranteed against defects
in materials and workmanship for a period
of two years from the date of purchase.
Under this guarantee the manufacturer
undertakes to repair or replace any parts
found to be defective, providing the product
is returned to one of our authorised service
centres. is guarantee is only valid if the
appliance has been used in accordance with
the instructions, and provided that it has not
been modied, repaired or interfered with
by any unauthorised person, or damaged
through misuse.
is guarantee naturally does not cover wear
and tear, nor breakables such as glass and
ceramic items, bulbs etc. is guarantee does
not aect your statutory rights, nor any legal
rights you may have as a consumer under
applicable national legislation governing
the purchase of goods. If the product fails
to operate and needs to be returned, pack it
carefully, enclosing your name and address
and the reason for return. If within the
guarantee period, please also provide the
guarantee card and proof of purchase.
