Owner’s Manual
CONTROLS:
1. IN — 1/4” TS jack input for signal source. Preampli-
fier could be used with active or passive electric bass
guitar and acoustic instruments with piezo pickup.
2. SEND —1/4” TS jack output to external effects
(modulation, delay, reverb, etc.). Could be used as
additional -20 dBu output.
3. RETURN — 1/4” TS jack input from external effects.
SEND/RETURN jacks forms post-EQ series effects
loop.
4. AUX — 1/8” TRS auxiliary input jack for drum
machine, metronome, MP3 player or other signal.
5. PHONES — 1/8” TRS jack for headphones. Output
level is set by MASTER knob.
6. OUT — 1/4” TS jack output with high-level signal
(+20 dBu). Designed to be connected directly to power
amplifier, POWER AMP IN or loop RETURN jack of
bass head or combo amplifier.
7. BALANCED OUT — XLR balanced (DI)
output (+10 dBu) for recording applications. Balanced
output level is preset and is not affected by MASTER
knob. XLR signal is post-EQ.
8. POWER IN — Connect 12 V AC 750 mA power
adapter here (use original adapter included or adapters
recommended by Shift Line)

Shift Line Olympic mkII is a compact studio-grade tube bass guitar preamplifier which combines perfect
sound quality and wide commutation possibilities. This device has proved itself on a stage as good as at home
and studio usage.
MAIN FEATURES:
• 12AX7 Tung-Sol tube stage and high-voltage circuit with specially designed transformer.
• Series effects loop
• XLR balanced (DI) output for recording or sending to mixer console (with switchable ground lift).

Great tone, incredibly low noise level, wide commutation options and XLR output in housing of usual stomp pedal.
9. GAIN — Controls input signal level. Gain range
gives you possibility to reach all sounds from clean to
naturally compressed or even a bit overdriven signal.
10. BASS, TREBLE, MIDDLE — Classic passive
three-band EQ with smooth frequency response
control. Start searching your tone with all EQ controls
set to maximum and roll them back for your taste. If
more equalization is needed external EQ in series loop
can be used.
11. MASTER — Controls overall volume level on OUT
and PHONES outputs
12. BRIGHT — High frequencies boost (treble bleed).
Gain knob position affects on the high frequencies
amount added with bright switch ON.
13. GROUND LIFT — XLR ground pin switching for
reducing ground hum level. Use position with lower
noise on balanced output.

TURN ON PROCEDURE:
• Make sure power is disconnected
• Connect all your audio cables
• Plug in adapter’s output jack to preamp power input.
• Plug in AC adapter to mains socket
• Turn on your power amplifier
Follow this instructions in reversed order to turn off a
preamp.
