Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Sidhil Boston Home Care bed. Key features of your bed include:-

Assembly & preparing for use
Your bed is designed with fold down legs for easy transport and handling. To assemble your bed a 13mm
spanner is required. (The bolt size is M8 which is 13mm across the flats of the bolt head).
WARNING –The bed weight exceeds 25Kg.
Follow appropriate lifting and handling practice.
1) Position your bed in the approximate location of use.
2) Lifting up the long side of the frame, stand the bed upright on its side.
3) Remove the 4 bolts near to each leg fixing. (Do not remove the bolt that the leg hinges around)
4) Swing out the legs into the extended position. Refix the four removed bolts.
5) Tighten all eight bolts that hold the legs. Lower the bed into position.
Using your bed: Do’s & Don’ts
DO ensure you read these instructions and fully understand them before using your table.
DO ensure a copy of the “IMPORTANT Siderail safety notice” is included with these instructions.
DO ensure the bed is cleaned on a regular basis
DO ensure the bed is inspected on a regular basis (minimum once yearly service).
DO NOT exceed the safe working load of 180Kg (28 Stone)
DO NOT allow children to play with or under the bed
DO NOT allow any part of the bed or mattress to come into contact with a naked flame or
excessive heat sources.

Adjusting the bed
Bed ends
These slide into the appropriate channels situated at each end of the mattress frame. Removal of the bed ends
will give all round patient access, should this be required.
Nursing backrest and foot end (Where fitted)
•Ensure the person can support themselves while the back rest is adjusted.
If they are incapable of supporting themselves seek assistance while
adjusting the backrest.
•Ensure the backrest mechanism is firmly engaged before placing weight on
the backrest.
Operate the backrest by the button situated to the rear of the “lock box” on the top of the sliding backrest.
Pushing the unit down the slide rods swings out the backrest out into the required angle. Releasing the button
locks the backrest into position.
To raise the backrest simply lift the “lock box” upwards.
Care and maintenance
Biocote
The painted parts of your table come with an antibacterial additive incorporated into the powder coated
metalwork. Biocote™ inhibits the growth of bacteria on the surface of the table frame. It is effective
against a wide range of both gram positive and negative bacteria as well as fungi. Examples of bacteria
that Biocote™ is resistant to include:
Bacillus Subtilis Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA)
Escerichia Coli 0157 Streptococcus Faecalis
Salmonella Enteritides Listeria Monocytogenes
Biocote™ is an aid to keeping your bed infection free but it does not substitute the need for the bed to
be cleaned at regular intervals.
Cleaning
All surfaces to be wiped down with a disposable cleaning cloth, moistened with a mild detergent and diluted in
hot water (60°C). Extra care should be taken around areas where excess dirt or dust may gather. Rinse down
with clean water and dry off with a paper towel.
Always ensure that the bed is dry before re-using.
It is not recommended to use any bleach or surface cleaner that may scour the painted surface.

Inspection
The Boston Home Care bed requires very little maintenance, however if there are any signs of damage, of the
bed is not performing as it should, please contact your supplier of assistance. Only authorised Sidhil service or
repair agents should carry out repairs or service activities. Failure to do so may result in the manufacturer’s
warranty becoming void.
Check that the maximum loading has not been exceeded
Check the eight bolts holding the legs are tight
Check there are no loose parts or fixings
Check no parts appear excessively worn
Accessories
1292/I/W Nursing backrest and foot end - Adjustable angle backrest and removable footrest.
3004 – Backrest – Five position, easy clean, low cost backrest.
1292/6/LP Lifting Pole - Magnolia lifting pole. May be fitted to the left or right side of the bed.
1292/7 Bed Extension - Additional 150mm extension.
1210/DP Drip Pole - Two hook, adjustable height.
