Intended use
This remote microphone is intended to improve speech
understanding in background noise.
Furthermore, it is intended to make devices without
Bluetooth-function compatible to Bluetooth.
Read and follow the instructions of this user guide
to avoid injuries or damage to the VoiceLink.
CAUTION
Read this user guide thoroughly and completely and
follow the safety information in this document to
avoid damage or injury.

Before you start
The VoiceLink is equipped with a rechargeable battery.
XConnect the VoiceLink to a power supply or charge if
necessary.
Charging
XCharge the VoiceLink using the supplied USB-power
supply.
LED state while charging:
VoiceLink on VoiceLink off
Microphone mode ashes red-purple shines red
Audio mode ashes red-blue shines red
Charging time is about 3 hours depending on the status
of the rechargeable battery.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
XFor safety reasons use the supplied USB power
supply only.
Your Hearing Care Professional has to congure
your miniTek for external devices.
XRefer to the user guide of your connected device
for more detailed information.

XClean surface before applying clip or adhesive
tape.
Use with microphone
XUse the supplied clip to afx the VoiceLink to your
shirt for mobile applications.
XConnect the VoiceLink with the microphone.
Use with stationary device
XUse the supplied adhesive tape to afx the VoiceLink
at a suitable place, if you want to use it for television
or other stationary devices.
XUse one of the supplied cables to connect
the VoiceLink to a stationary device
(refer to grahic “connection scheme“ on next page).

Using the VoiceLink
Turning the VoiceLink on/off
XUse the on/off switch to turn the VoiceLink on.
XUse the on/off switch to turn the VoiceLink off.
Sound level
XPress the sound level button to change the volume
of the audio signal.
The sound level can be adjusted in 5 levels.
The LED ashes blue. The number of times
the LED ashes indicates the volume level.
Changing the mode
XPress the sound level button for about 3 seconds
to change the mode.
The LED shines blue for audio mode.
The LED shines purple for microphone mode.
The selected mode remains active when you turn
VoiceLink off and on.

Audio mode
XPress on/off switch to turn the VoiceLink on.
XBe sure that the VoiceLink is in audio mode
(LED shines blue).
If the VoiceLink is in microphone mode
(LED shines purple) press the sound level button
until the LED shines blue.
In audio mode the LED on the VoiceLink ashes blue
while searching for a connection to your miniTek
and shines blue constantly once a connection is
established.
Microphone mode
XPress on/off switch to turn the VoiceLink on.
XBe sure that the VoiceLink is in microphone mode
(LED shines purple).
If the VoiceLink is in audio mode (LED shines blue)
press the sound level button until the LED shines
purple.
In microphone mode the LED on the VoiceLink ashes
purple while searching a connection to your miniTek
and shines purple constantly if a connection is
established.
If you want to change to microphone mode make
sure that you connect your microphone before
changing the mode.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless standard that provides a way to
connect wireless devices like cell phones, TV, headsets
and others.
The Bluetooth connection has a range up to 20 m
(65 ft). Walls or objects between the devices can
shorten the distance.

devices via Bluetooth.

XThe device can be used with all
electronic implants that comply with the
ANSI/AAMI/ISO 14117:2012 Electromagnetic
compatibility standard for human implants.
XIn case your implant does not comply with the
ANSI/AAMI/ISO 14117:2012 standard, consult
the manufacturer of your implantable device for
information about the risk of disturbance.
WARNING
This device may interfere with measuring and
electronic equipment.
XDo not use your device on airplanes or areas
where sensitive or life-supporting electronic
equipment is used.

XDo not use your remote control in explosive
atmospheres (e. g. in mining areas).
WARNING
Risk of explosion when the rechargeable battery
is handled wrong.
XDo not short circuit, pierce, crush or disassemble
the rechargeable battery.
XPrior to return the battery for recycling,
tape the electrodes to prevent short circuit,
which may cause the battery to explode.
XDo not place it in oven or re.
XDo not immerse it in water.
XCharge the rechargeable battery between
0ºC and 45ºC.
Radiofrequency radiation exposure Information
The radiated output power of the device is far
below the FCC radio frequency exposure limits.
Nevertheless, the device shall be used in such
a manner that the potential for human contact
during normal operation is minimized.

When the telecoil program is active, the remote
control may cause a pulsing noise.
XUse the remote control with a distance greater
than 10 cm (4 inches).
