SILMET SECURApplier User manual

Prior to use, carefully read the instructions for use
SecurApplier is a glass ionomer capsule applier, compatible for use with all encapsulated Glass
lonomer products. Use SecurApplier to pre-activate the capsule and dispense the mixed
material from capsule directly to the designated surface. The applier is ergonomically designed
to facilitate easy dispensing of the mixed materials.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Capsule Loading
After triturating, remove the capsule from the amalgamator: Insert and secure
the capsule in capsule holder.
NOTE: The capsule cannot be inserted if the plunger is extended. Retract the
plunger by pressing the release button.
Extruding the Material
Direct the capsule nozzle into the prepared surface of the tooth.Click trigger of
applicator 3 times to prime the capsule. Click once more to extrude material. No
need for excess force.
Removal of the Capsule
Press the release button to retract the plunger. Remove the used capsule from
the applier by twisting clockwise and pulling upwards.

CLEANING
Clean the applier with a gauze soaked in alcohol.
STERILIZATION
SecurApplier can be autoclaved at 121-134°C (250-273°F) for 10 to 30 minutes
(excluding heat-up time). Please follow manufacturer’s instructions.
IMPORTANT: The use of chemical disinfectants/sterilants or ultrasonic cleaning may
cause damage to the applier and are therefore not recommended.
SPECIAL NOTES
1. Prior to use, sterilize the applier.
2. Do not use the CAPSULE APPLIER on patients who have a history of allergy or show
signs of allergy to metals. If any such reactions are experienced, discontinue the use
of the product and refer to a physician.
3. An operator who has a history of allergy to metals should not handle the CAPSULE
APPLIER. In case of allergy, discontinue use and consult a physician.
4. Take care not to get your hand or fingers caught between the lever and the grip.
5. This product should only be used by a dental professional.
6. This product should only be used for the applications described herein.

liability for any damage or loss, direct or consequential, arising from the use of or inability to
use the product described. It is the responsibility of the dentist to determine before use, the
suitability of the product for its intended use. The dentist assumes all risk and liability in
connection therewith.
