1. ADJUSTING TOP THREAD
TENSION
Decrease or increase the tension of the
top thread by using this control. The higher
the number, the tighter the tension.
2. PRESSER FOOT LEVER
There are three positions for your presser
foot.
1. Lower the presser foot to sew.
2. Raise the lever to the middle position
to insert or remove fabric.
3. Lift it to its highest position to change
the presser foot or to remove thick
fabric.
3. STITCH WIDTH/NEEDLE
POSITION CONTROL
The width of all the stitches produced on
this machine can be made narrower or
wider by adjusting the stitch width control.
When sewing straight stitching, you can
select one of three needle positions
- left,
middle or right - with the same control dial.
4. STITCH SELECTOR AND
INDICATOR
1. To select a stitch, be sure needle is out
of fabric at its highest position.
2. Then turn the selector until the required
stitch is indicated on the indicator
panel.

5. STITCH LENGTH/SUPER
(STRETCH) STITCH
CONTROL
Stitch length can be selected easily
according to thickness and type of fabric.
Super (stretch) stitch patterns can be
selected by turning the same dial to Smark
where fine adjustment can be made.
6. REVERSE STITCH LEVER
It is recommended to begin, or end seams
with several stitches in reverse for
reinforcement. As long as you are pressing
down this lever while sewing, the machine
will continue to feed the fabric backwards.

5. COMMANDE DE ONGUEUR
DE POINT/POINT SUPER
(EXTENSIBLE)
Il est possible de sélectionner facilement
la longueur de point en fonction de
l’épaisseur et du type du tissu utilisé.
Le groupe des points super (extensibles)
peut être sélectionné en tournant la même
commande jusqu’au repère Sauquel le
réglage fin peut être effectué.
6. LEVIER DE POINT ARRIÈRE
Il est recommandé de commencer ou de
terminer les coutures avec plusieurs points
arrière afin d’en améliorer la solidité.
Lorsqu’on maintient ce levier abaissé en
cours de couture, la machine continuera à
entraîner le tissu vers l’arrière.

Augmenter ou diminuer la tension
supérieure en utilisant cette molette. Plus
le chiffre est grand, plus la tension est
serrée.

2. Soulever le levier en position moyenne
pour insérer ou enlever le tissu.
3. Soulever le levier à sa position la plus
haute, pour changer le pied presseur
ou enlever les tissus épais.

SETTING UP YOUR MACHINE
Be sure to wipe off any surplus oil from needle plate area before using your machine the first time.
FOOT CONTROL
Connect the plug of the foot control into the machine socket and
your wall outlet as illustrated.
POWER/LIGHT SWITCH
Your machine will not operate until the power/light switch is turned
on. The same switch controls both the power and the light.
When servicing the machine, or changing needles or Iamps, etc.,
machine must be disconnected from the wall outlet.

PREPARATION DE LA MACHINE
Installez votre machine sur une surface bien plane.
Votre machine à coudre a été huilée à fond par l’usine. ll est donc indispensable, avant de commencer à l’utiliser, de bien essuyer la
plaque glissière. Faites ensuite un essai sur un échantillon de tissu pour bien éponger l’huile en excès.
RHÉOSTAT
Introduisez la fiche dans la prise de courant. (comme illustré).
INTERRUPTEUR MOTEUR ET LUMIERE
Votre machine est équipée d’un interrupteur unique moteur/
lumière. Vous piquez donc constamment avec votre travail éclairé.

Remove the extension table by pulling it to the left.
To attach, slide the table back until the pin (A )fits into the
hole on the machine.

REMOVING THE EXTENSION TABLE/
ACCESSORY BOX Open the accessory box by lifting the lid up and backward and you will
find a variety of accessories inside.

WINDING BOBBIN
1. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin. Secure it with the
spool cap to ensure smooth flow of thread.
2. Pass thread from spool through thread guides as shown.
3. Pull end of thread through hole in bobbin as shown.
4. Push bobbin winder shaft to far left position, if it is not already
there. Place bobbin onto shaft with end of thread coming from
top of bobbin. Push bobbin winder shaft to right until it clicks.
Hold onto end of thread.
5. Start machine. The thread that is held will snap or may be
trimmed with a scissors. Bobbin will cease turning when
completely filled. Push shaft to left to remove bobbin.
PRÉPARATION DE LA CANETTE
1. Plaçez une rouleau de fil sur le porte-bobine. Bloquez-la avec
le couvre-fil afin d’assurer le bon déroulement du fil.
2. Passer le fil dans le guide fil comme illustré.
3. lntroduire le fil dans un des trous de la canette.

4. Pousser l’axe du dévidoir vers la gauche, placer la canette sur
cet axe. Pousser le tout vers la droite jusqu’au déclic. Tenir le
bout de fil.
5. Mettre la machine en marche. La canette va se remplir.
Continuer à tirer sur le bout de fil et il va se couper.
Dès que la canette est pleine, elle s’arrêtera de tourner. Pousser
la canette vers la gauche pour pouvoir enlever la canette.

4. Pull thread through the slot (A)and then to the left.
With a finger held gently on top of the bobbin, pull thread through
the slot (B)until you hear a clicking sound, and then leave
about 6" (15 cm) of thread.
5. Replace the bobbin cover plate onto the needle plate.

THREADING THE BOBBIN THREAD
1. Raise the needle to its highest position by rotating the hand
wheel towards you.
2. Remove the bobbin cover plate.
3. Insert the bobbin making sure the bobbin rotates counter-
clockwise.
ENFILAGE DU FIL DE CANETTE
1. Relevez l’aiguille en position haute en tournant manuellement
le volant vers vous.
2. Retirez le couvercle de canette.
3. Insérez la canette pleine en vérifiant qu’elle tourne dans le
sens contraire des aiguilles d’une montre.
4. Tirez le fil à travers la fente (A), puis vers la gauche.
En le maintenant contre la canette, tirez le à travers la fente (B),
jusqu’au déclic et ensuite, laissez environ 15 cm de fil à l’arrière.
5. Replacez le couvercle de canette sur la plaque aiguille.

THREADING THE TOP THREAD
1. Raise the presser foot lever.
2. Raise the needle to its highest position by rotating the hand
wheel towards you.
3. Thread the machine in the order as illustrated.

USING AUTOMATIC NEEDLE THREADER
Raise the needle to its highest position by rotating the hand wheel towards you.
1. Pull down lever and hook thread to
thread guide as illustrated. Continue to
push lever until the hooked end passes
through the needle eye.
2. Guide thread into hooked end and pull
it upward.
3. Release the lever and needle will be
threaded automatically.
NOTE: For smooth threading it is
recommended to set the machine
at straight stitching (middle
position) when using needle
threader.
UTILISATION DE L’ENFILEUR D’AIGUILLE
Amener l'aiguille en position haute en toumant le volant vers vous.
1. Abaisser le levier tout en tenant
l'extrémité du fil.
2. Guider le fil dans la fourchette
d'accrochage et le tirer vers le haut.
3. Ramener le levier à sa position d'origine,
et l'aiguille sera alors automatiquement
enfilée.
NOTE: Pour un enfllage plus aisé il est
recommandé de placer la
sélecteur de point en position
point droit (aiguille au centre)
avant d’utiliser l’enfileur.

RAPPEL DU FIL INFERIEUR
1. Relever le pied presseur avec le levier.
2. Tenir le fil de l’aiguille et tourner le volant vers
vous en faisant remonter l’aiguille à sa position
la plus haute.
3. Faire remonter le fil inférieur en tirant
légèrement sur le fil supérieur.
PICKING UP BOBBIN THREAD
1. Raise the presser foot lever.
Holding needle thread loosely with your left
hand, turn hand wheel towards you one
revolution with your right hand until the needle
comes to its highest position.
2. Lightly pull up the top thread, and
pick up bobbin thread, which will
appear through the needle plate
slot.
3. Pull both top and bobbin threads
together towards back of machine
under the presser foot, leaving
about 6” (15 cm) clear.
4. Placer les deux fils sous le pied
presseur en laissant environ 15 cm

CHANGING PRESSER FEET
Be sure needle is in the up position. Raise presser foot
lever.
1. Push foot release lever to remove the foot.
2. Place the desired foot on the needle plate aligning the
presser foot needle slot with the needle plate needle
slot.
3. Lower the presser foot lever so that the foot holder
snaps on the foot.
REMPLACEMENT DU PIED PRESSEUR
Relevez l’aiguille au maximum, ainsi que le levier du pied
presseur.
1. Poussez le levier de verrouillage et enlever le pied.
2. Placez le pied choisie sur la plaque-aiguille comme
illustré.
3. Rabaissez le levier du pied presseur de façon à ce
que le pied s’enclenche de lui-même sur son support.

CONVERTING TO FREE-ARM SEWING
Your machine can be used either as a flat- bed, or as a free-arm
model.
With the extension table in position, it provides you with a large
working surface as a standard flat-bed model.
By removing the extension table (just pull it off to the left as shown),
the machine converts into a free-arm model.
UTILISATION DU BRAS LIBRE
Cette machine peut s'utiliser aussi bien sous la forme d'une base
plane que celle d'un bras libre.
En conservant la table de rallonge en place, vous disposez d'une
grande table de travail.
En éliminant la table de rallonge, vous trouvez en face un bras

STRAIGHT STITCHES
Straight stitch is most frequently used for every aspect of sewing. Learn the correct method of your machine following the steps below.
1. SETTINGS
Stitch indicator

Thread tension - 3
Raise the take-up lever to its
highest position by turning the
hand wheel toward you.

2. Pull both threads under the
presser foot toward the back
of the machine.
3. Place the fabric under the
presser foot and lower the
presser foot lever.
4. Turn the hand wheel toward
you until the needle enters the
fabric.
5. a. Start to sew stepping on
the foot control.
b. Guide the fabric gently
with your hand.
c. When you reach the end
of the fabric, stop the
machine by releasing the
foot control.
6. a. Turn the hand wheel to
raise the needle.
b. Raise the presser foot by
pushing the lever up.
c. Use the thread cutter
above the presser foot to
cut off excess threads.
d. Pull both threads under
and to the back of the
presser foot, leaving 4
inches (10 cm) clear.
