The Recording Academy® has chosen SLS studio monitors for its music production seminars
featuring panelists like Roy Thomas Baker, Alan Parsons, Elliott Scheiner and Jimmy Douglas.
The overwhelming response of producers and artists at the recent New York event has solidified
SLS’ participation in the ongoing series. More than 1,000 industry professionals attended the New
York and Anaheim SoundTable seminars that highlighted SLS’ loudspeakers.
“Speakers are really responsible for transporting somebody’s soul to another person. SLS speak-
ers deliver sound in its most natural form. This breakthrough in technology can be compared to
the evolution of sound from mono to stereo”
Quincy Jones / Academy, Grammy and Emmy Award Winning Performer/Producer.
"The SLS speaker system provides remarkable accuracy, clarity and resolution. Listening to music
on SLS speakers at home is like listening to the actual live recording sessions."
Sting
“The big attraction of the SLS gear is the lack of preparation needed to achieve such great results,
and SLS ribbon drivers are not only amazingly clear but offer a nice warmth not heard in other
speakers.”
Paul Bevan / Emotional Entertainment / NBC Today Show
“I’ve found the SLS Loudspeakers to be extremely clear and detailed, allowing me to hear nu-
ances lost in other systems of far greater cost! “The imaging accuracy and comfort level produced
great mixes.”
John Nowland / Redwood Studios / Neil Young

“I guarantee we didn’t play any quieter — we just had better control.”
Chicago’s Band Shell, Home of International Blues Festival,Gets New Gear
An outdoor amphitheatre whose origins date back to 1935. A big-city government that, appropriately, isn’t keen on
wasting the taxpayers’ money. A venue that needs to suit the definition of diversity: from an international blues
festival to the symphony; from Aretha Franklin to the Dalai Lama.
“It was more than proximity that led Chicago Sound to doing business with SLS on this extremely important job.”
“They responded to comments and suggestions and were willing to make changes, so we quickly developed a good
relationship with them.”

SLS Loudspeakers to Support IAJE Conference NEW YORK — SLS Loudspeakers will provide the Interna-
tional Association for Jazz Education (IAJE) with a sound solution in audio support during the organization’s 34th
Annual Conference, to be held at the Hilton and Sheraton New York Hotels between January 10th and January
13th. This year’s four-day show, celebrating jazz, will be outfitted with an SLS line-up composed of 52 SLS
RLA/2s, 48 SLS RLA/3s, 10 SLS FF2605s and several SLS LSB8115 subwoofers.
“With more than 200 of the world’s most respected professional jazz groups and musicians performing in two ho-
tels, each housing different rooms of various size and acoustical composition, versatility and portability was key,”
says Hunt. “SLS’ small size and light weight provides much more flexibility for transporting and positioning com-
pared to other products on the market.”
SLS Loudspeakers installed at University of Massachusets Lowell take listening to a new level!
Bob Alach, president of Alactronics Corporation, who designed the new studio as well as the University’s first
studio established in 1990 and the acclaimed critical listening classroom in 2002, says each room is strategically
built to allow students the experience of listening to audio at an extremely high degree of resolution. “The loud-
speakers’ role in these rooms is to convert audio signals from the electrical domain to acoustical,”
“Speaker quality is important to recording in the same way as a good camera lens is important for visual accu-
racy. If you were to look through an average lens, you’ll see a picture, but a high quality lens will offer far more
details and resolve much more about the picture. Through the newly installed SLS speakers, these students are able
to hear sounds that they would ordinarily be unable to hear through any other speaker. As a result, their end prod-
ucts and performances are better sounding and translate better to other systems.”
North Metro First Baptist Church, which recently moved into a newly constructed building near Atlanta, is en-
joying spectacular sound with a full complement of SLS loudspeakers.
"SLS loudspeakers were chosen primarily for their patented high frequency ribbon driver technology," Austin ex-
plains. "Other commercial loudspeaker manufacturers claim to emulate 'ribbon-like sound,' but only SLS uses ac-
tual ribbons. The flat, linear response and near-zero distortion attributes of the ribbons translate into very clear,
accurate vocals that are very pleasing, even at higher SPL levels.
"This allows the sound engineer to run the house system louder-to overcome stage volume-without complaints
from the congregation. The most common comments the engineer hears is how amazed people are by their ability
to understand every spoken word, including lyrics by the choir, and how pleasing and smooth the music is."
"The SLS speaker system recently installed for us by Austin Sound Design is incredible," says Rev. Keith
McBroom, North Metro First Baptist Church Minister of Music. "I have had church members young and old com-
ment on the clarity and presence of the music and spoken word”.

...this was the first time they were not bombarded with emails and phone calls about the audio, or lack there of,
from a race day event!
SLS International's Newest Line Array Product Installed in NASCAR Facility
"I was incredibly impressed with the new SLS LS6593 Line Array Speakers," stated Marty Waverley, General
Manager of Sound Image in Tempe, AZ. "Knowing this was new technology, as SLS had just released these new
cabinets, and using them for this type of installation and application, I was a bit skeptical; however, my expecta-
tions were exceeded by the performance of the SLS technology. After we installed and checked SPL (Sound Pres-
sure Levels) from anywhere in the grandstand, the readings were outstanding. SLS also exceeded expectations in
customer dealer care and assistance from the initial contact with the client to the final test and balance of the sys-
tem. The new system was used for the first time during a NASCAR Nextel Cup race the weekend of April 21st and
from what I have been told by Lee Baumgarten, Director of facilities at PIR, this was the first time they were not
bombarded with emails and phone calls about the audio, or lack there of, from a race day event! We look forward
to working with SLS on many high-profile installations of this type in the future."
"The success of this installation is yet another validation of our technology and our capabilities to find solutions for
any and all types of audio needs throughout the world," stated John Gott, Chairman and CEO of SLS International.
"Due to its ability to focus sound directly to the listeners in such a manner that there is very little loss at great dis-
tances as compared to conventional speaker systems, our systems are being specified around the world in multiple
different types of installations, including educational, religious, municipal as well as sports venues. We expect
them to become utility tools that can be used by numerous sound designers in the future. Due to the outdoor rating
on this new product, it opens up many new potential sales possibilities for SLS in sports arenas and concert facili-
ties. With this acceptance by the originators of NASCAR we feel that our technology could become the benchmark
for all outdoor racing and sports venues in the future."
"Given the choice between two theaters in the same market, the SLS sound will have a distinct advantage."
According to Mark Smith, President of the NJ-based equipment company Big Sky Industries, "For years now, the
premier sound system in movie theaters has been digital surround sound-which was state-of-the-art. Now, with an
increasingly sound-savvy public, the advent of SLS in the theater market is critical for the movie-going experience
to survive -- keeping a step ahead -- making the viewing experience in the theater auditorium more crisp, clear and
smooth than what educated listeners have come to expect at home. Given the choice between two theaters in the
same market, the SLS sound will have a distinct advantage."
Vince Guzzo, President of Montreal-based Cinemas Guzzo says, "One of the biggest complaints we've had in our
auditoriums has been sound levels and dialog intelligibility. When the sound level got too high, the distortion was
so great; our managers were continually asked to turn down the sound. Yet, in certain sized auditoriums, and with
action movies or those with great soundtracks, the sound needs to be at a higher level. Now, with the SLS system,
we have fewer complaints, smoother sound, which makes for a better movie-going experience all-around."
U.S. Federal Government, selected the SLS products to sell to the US Navy for use aboard the aircraft car-
rier USS Roosevelt.
"The USS Roosevelt application called for a long throw system with high intelligibility in a reverberant situation
(inside the carrier) and it also needed to be flexible enough to work outside and project over an entire flight deck,"
said Joe Getz, project manager for The Whitlock Group. "We wanted a system with as much vertical control as
possible without being overly complicated. Our goal was to be able to comfortably transition to new operators with
as little as a five-minute briefing. The plug and play nature of the SLS, LS8695 along with its excellent sound
qualities covered all of these needs much better than any other speaker system that we know of. Due to the bad
weather the event was held inside the carrier and it was amazing how the SLS speakers covered the entire area with
what seemed to be no variation in sound level. You could stand in front of the speakers and walk back 100 feet and
the sound was the same. I was totally impressed as were all of the officials and the audio personal from The Navy."

"We first heard about SLS Loudspeakers from a billboard featuring Quincy Jones," commented Geraldine
de Haas, president, founder and CEO of Jazz Unites. "We felt it would be a great tie-in to use the SLS units for
JazzFest. I was absolutely spoiled by the SLS speakers. The sound was incredible. They made the festival very
enjoyable and we look forward to working with them next year."
SLS International's Speakers Installed in Founder's Room at the Museum of Modern Art
SLS S1065 midfield monitors were installed in the Founder's Room at the Museum of Modern Art in New York
City. John Kessler, managing consultant at IBM Global Services specified the design and selected the SLS speak-
ers.
"The Founder's Room is a multipurpose room, so we knew the speakers had to be set into the walls," said Kessler.
"We needed units that would give the most punch and best performance for their size. The SLS speakers gave us
everything we considered necessary and more."
" The SLS speakers were positioned in the four corners hidden behind acoustical fabric coverings, two left-right
fronts and two left-right rears, in the reconfigurable room. The Founder's Room also features a surround sound
system linked to the SLS units, which are used in sound reinforcement for live musicians, playback, presentations,
etc.
"The whole project was complicated, but the biggest challenge was simply fitting everything in the limited space,"
said Frank Kelly, senior consultant for SPL Integrated Solutions. "One nice feature of the SLS speakers is that you
can physically change the orientation and rotate them based on the physical constraints. I was very impressed with
the SLS units."
SLS International's Loudspeakers Selected by NBC's 'Today Show'
After first auditioning the highly acclaimed and innovative SLS LS8695 Compact Line Array at the 2002 Audio
Engineering Society trade show in Los Angeles, Paul Bevan, front-of-house audio engineer for the Today Show,
approached SLS with his intention of implementing a similar yet larger system for the nationally broadcast show.
Bevan, a former tour manager and engineer for Queen and The Eurythmics, has mixed the now legendary Today
Show Concert Series for over 8 years under contract with NBC as Emotional Management and has engineered au-
dio for such NBC guests as Elton John, Santana, REM, Steely Dan, L.L. Cool J, Jewel and Paul Simon as well as
the seasonal Rockefeller Center "Tree Lighting."
"It's guerrilla mixing out here," said Bevan. "Get it done well, and get it done quickly. You have to realize that due
to the nature and location of our show, we have to begin setting up on the street at 1 a.m., do a line check by 5 a.m.
and be ready to sound check by 5:30." Mr. Bevan went on to say that he can get a pretty good sound out of almost
any system, provided he has plenty of time for repetitive adjusting and fine tuning. However, the big attraction of
the SLS gear is the lack of preparation needed to achieve such great results. "The focus is always on the vocals.
Unintelligible vocals are by far the chief complaint that is presented to an audio engineer. The SLS ribbon drivers
are not only amazingly clear but offer a nice warmth not heard in other speakers.”

SLS International, Inc. and Mark Burnett announce three year promotion agreement.
SLS International, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of innovative proprietary audio systems, including its ultra-
high fidelity "Ribbon Driver" loudspeakers, and Mark Burnett, executive producer of reality programs such as
"Survivor", "The Apprentice" with Donald Trump, and his production company announced today that they have
entered into a three-year promotion agreement.
The promotion agreement contemplates collaboration toward a product integration to coincide with SLS' planned
release of its "Q Line Qube System". The Q Line is a new line of high-quality home theater and entertainment
products for global markets that SLS has co-developed with world-renowned producer, arranger, composer and
Grammy Award, Academy Award and Emmy Award winner Quincy Jones. The Q Line Qube System, which com-
bines SLS' proprietary "Ribbon Driver" technology with Quincy Jones' innovating design for optimum sound, is
expected to launch in the first quarter of 2006. The promotion agreement contemplates that Mr. Jones will act as
the on-camera SLS spokesperson in connection with product integrations generated by the promotion agreement.
"This deal exemplifies synergy at the intersection of the entertainment and consumer electronics industries," pro-
claims John Gott, SLS' chief executive officer. "This is a unique opportunity for us to join forces with some of the
best names in Hollywood, increase brand awareness together and show the world what we have to offer. We are
very excited about our upcoming Q Line systems and couldn't think of a better way to launch additional products
from that line."
"I discovered SLS while analyzing sound systems for my new show Rock Star:INXS, and I was amazed by the
sound quality of SLS speakers," said Mr. Burnett. "I met with the SLS executives and with Quincy Jones and
quickly realized that SLS was a company to hitch my wagon to."
"Listening to the SLS speakers is like there is a sonic carpet to your soul. If you could taste it, smell it or feel it, it
would be different, but you just have to hear it. When you are in the movies or listening to music you can tell that
the SLS' deliver a much clearer and better sound and the new products that we are developing together are going to
be affordable enough for anybody to own. Mark Burnett is the perfect partner to enlighten the World about these
products," said Quincy Jones.
SLS ribbon driver loudspeakers was installed in the United States Air Force Academy High School Audito-
rium in Colorado Springs Colorado.
Air Force Academy's 20-year veteran Vocal Music and Music Technology director Dave Philsinger said, "I was
totally amazed at the sound quality of this system. The articulation of the instruments and overall intelligibility is
spectacular."
"We are using the LS8695 systems in several upcoming jobs" said Dan Keller of Heavenly Sound in Colorado
Springs. "We have looked for quite some time for a line array solution that was both affordable and effective; the
LS8695 fills that need."
Mr. Keller, a thirty-year veteran in sound contracting, maintains that the SLS compact line array is very impressive
in all facets of sound reproduction, imaging, and intelligibility. "During testing in the Air Academy Project we
were able sit in the most challenging listening positions and remain very well covered by the system. I'm not only
very surprised and pleased, I'm looking forward to future design success with this product."
