I. Introduction
Thank you for using the smartLAB®hBeat B heart rate monitor. This product is a sensor
type heart rate monitor that will detect heart rate and send your data to a Bluetooth®
Smart receiver, such as PC, Tablet or Smartphone.
IMPORTANT: This product is for sport purposes only and it is not meant to replace
any medical device.
This manual contains important safety and care information, and provides step-by-
step instructions for using this product. Read the manual thoroughly, and keep it in a
safe place in case you need to refer to it later.

1. Unpacking the product
In this box, you will nd:
a. smartLAB® hBeat B heart rate monitor (transmitter)
b. Adjustable elastic belt
c. CR2032 battery – already installed
d. User manual
2. To wear chest strap
a. Wet the conductive pads on the rear of the chest belt with a few drops of water,
Saliva or conductive gel to ensure solid contact.

b. Attach the transmitter to the strap
c. Strap the heart rate chest belt across your chest. To ensure an accurate heart
rate signal, adjust the strap until the belt ts snugly below your (chest) pectoral
muscles.
C. Run software on smart phone, to receive the heart rate data.

Maintenance
• Cleaning of transmitter and strap in a washing machine or dryer is strongly
prohibited
• Before hand washing the device, detach the transmitter of Heart Rate Monitor
where electrodes are located. This part is not washable
• While washing the straps, make sure water is no higher than 30°C
• Ironing, bleaching or heating is prohibited
• Do not dump the device or use force while operating it
• Avoid exposing the device to high temperatures or direct sunlight
• Let the device acclimate after having stored it in a temperature close to zero. Do
not immediately use it in such a condition
• Do not try to disassemble the device
• If you do not use the device for a longer time, please take out the batteries

Insert Batteries
The transmitter needs one CR2032 3V battery. The battery is already installed when
bought. The battery typically lasts up to one year.
To replace the chest belt battery:
- First twist the compartment lid using a coin counter-clockwise until it clicks out
of place.
- Remove the old battery and insert the new battery with the +-side upwards.
- Replace the battery compartment lid by twisting it clockwise until it is rmly in
place.

Important
1. Non-rechargeable and rechargeable batteries must be disposed of properly.
Heart Rate Monitor and batteries need to be
disposed of according to local regulations.
2. Batteries are extremely dangerous when swallowed! Therefore, keep batteries and
small articles away from children. If a battery has been swallowed seek immediate
medical advice.
3. The batteries supplied must not be recharged, reactivated by any other means,
dismantled, put into re or short-circuited.

Bluetooth® Smart receivers, like several iOS and Android Smartphones and Tablets as
well as PC‘s

This product has been veried to conform to the safety certication in accordance
with the specication of EN Standards: EN 60950-1:2006 + A11:2009 + A1:2010 +

WEEE note
The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive, that came into effect as
European law on 13th February 2003, led to a major change in the disposal of electrical
equipment.
The primarily purpose of this directive is to prevent of electronic waste (WEEE), while
encouraging for reuse, recycling and other forms of reprocessing to reduce waste.

RoHS compliance
This product complies with Directive 2002/95/EC of the European Parliament and the
Council of 27th January 2003 regarding the limited use of dangerous substances in
electrical and electronic equipment (RoHS) and its variations.
The WEEE logo on the product and the packaging indicates that it is not allowed to dispose of the
product in the ordinary household waste. It is your responsibility to deliver all the disused electri-
cal and electronic equipment to the respective collection points. A separate collection and proper
recycling of electronic waste helps dealing economically with natural resources. Furthermore, the
recycling of electrical waste is a contribution to the conservation of our environment and thus the
health of all people. More information concerning the disposal of electrical and electronic devices,
reprocessing and the collection points
you can get from the local authorities, waste disposal companies, from retailers and manufacturers
of the device.

Wear parts, batteries etc. are excluded from warranty.
