Quick Start
1. Plug the AC power adapter into an electrical outlet and
connect Aireo to the AC power adapter.
2. Plug Aireo into your PC USB port and turn on.
3. On your PC desktop, open My Computer.
4. Double-click the drive letter assigned to Aireo.
5. Launch the “setup.exe” installation program.
6. Follow the prompts to install and upgrade Aireo.
The latest Aireo User Guide is available on your PC after you
install SoniqSync. Select Start > All Programs > SoniqCast to
view the latest Aireo documentation.

Applications
Change applications on Aireo using the MODE button.
1. MP3 Player – Play all of your favorite music on the MP3 Player and view details
about the music you are playing. Use the MENU button to “Browse” playlists on
Aireo, “Select a Single” song to play,or modify Aireo player “Preferences”.
2. FM Stereo – Aireo has an internal FM receiver with seek and scan capabilities.
Enjoy listening to your favorite radio stations on the FM Stereo application. The
headphones are yourantenna.
3. SoniqSync™ – Use the SoniqSync feature on Aireo to connect to your PC over
a wireless network. The “CONNECT” feature will connect you through a
wireless network to the SoniqSync Host application installed on your PC. You
can also use it to refresh playlists.
4. HotSpotz™ - Locate wireless hotspots for your laptop or other wireless device.

SoniqSync dialog (or click the F1 key) to view the online help. Select Start > All
Programs > SoniqCast on your PC to view the complete set of Aireo
documentation.

Functions
Turn Aireo On Press the POWER button on the lower right side ofthe player.
Turn Aireo Off Press the POWER button and hold for three seconds.
Go to Standby Press the POWER button and select Standby. Aireo automatically goesinto the Standby mode by
default after 5 seconds.
Use MENU
Button
Press the MENU button todisplay the Main Menu. Use the UP/DOWN buttons of the navigation
keypad to scroll through and highlight entries on the menu list. Press the Play/Select button to select a
highlighted menu item. To exit Menu mode, press the MENU button to return to the last menu. Press
the MODE button to returnto the original application.
Use MODE
Button Press the MODE button to change the current Aireo application. Applications include MP3Player, FM Stereo, HotSpotz, and SoniqSync.
Select a Playlist
Press the MENU button toenter the Main Menu, select Browse and press the Play/Select button.
From the Browse menu, you can select Playlists, Genres, Artists, or Albums to find agroup ofsongs
you want to play. Select thedesiredplaylist and press the Play/Select button. Your selection will begin
to play.
Play a Song
Press the MENU button toenter the Main Menu, select Play A Single and press the Play/Select
button. On the Play A Single menu, you can select Playlists, Genres, Artists, or Albums to find a
specific song you want to play. Select thedesiredsongand press the Play/Select button. Your
selection will begin toplay.
Pause a Song While playing music, press the Play/Select buttononceto stop the music in mid-play. Press the
Play/Select button again tore-start the music where you leftoff.
Stop a Song While playing music, press the Play/Select buttonandhold it forone second to stop a song. Press the
Play/Select button again tostart the music from the beginningof the song.
Adjust Volume To adjust the volume level while playing music press the UP/DOWN buttons of the navigation keypad.
A volume level bar displays youradjustment.
Play Next Song While listening to music,press the RIGHT > button on the navigation keypad toplaythe next song.
Play Previous
Song While listening to music, press the < LEFT button twiceon thenavigation keypad to select the previous song.

Listen to FM
Stereo
To listen to the FM Stereo,press the MODE button until the FM Stereo appears on thedisplay screen.
Use the < LEFT and RIGHT > buttons to change the FM radio station.
Press a button for one second and SEEK will take you to the next available station. Press and hold a
button for 2 seconds to usethe SCANfunction. SCAN finds a station, plays it for a few seconds,and
continues to the next stationautomatically until you press thebuttonagain to make it stop.
Enable Checkin
Interval
To receive automatic downloads from your SoniqSync Host, you need to enable the Checkin Interval
on Aireo. Press the MENU key until you see Main Menu on the display screen.Select Preferences and
press the Play/Select button. Select SoniqSync and press the Play/Select button. Select Checkin
Interval and use the < LEFT or RIGHT > buttons on the Aireo navigation pad to change the interval
setting. Select Refresh on Checkin and use the < LEFT or RIGHT > buttons on the Aireo navigation
pad to enable or disable a refresh whenAireo checks in.
Transmit Music to
an FM Stereo
Aireo playson yourlocalradio! Set your local radio to Aireo’s pre-settransmitter station 88.1. Aireo
automatically transmits music when you unplug the headphones from your player while music is
playing.See the Aireo User Guidefor more information.Not available in Europe.
Use the Equalizer
Enhance your musicon Aireo using the playerEqualizer. To adjust Equalizer settings, see Selecting
Audio Preferencesin the Aireo User Guide.
Reset Player If for some reason your player locks up or doesnot respond to the keypad, reset theplayer using the
RESET switch. The RESET switch is locatedon theback ofthe player. Press using a paper clip.
Create a Playlist
on your PC Open a Playlist Managerand create a playlist. SeethePlaylist Manager for more information or the SoniqSync Online Help.
Download a
Playlist from
SoniqSync
Connect Aireo to SoniqSync on yourPC and downloadyour favorite playlists. Click the Copy Music
button on the SoniqSync dialog. From the Open Playlist dialog you may select playlists from your
music folders, Windows Media® Player, or Musicmatch®Jukebox. Select a playlist and press the Copy
button. To download playlists from a wireless connection or use the copy schedule option, see
SoniqSync Online Help for more information.
Create a
schedule to
download new
music later from
SoniqSync
Set the time to automatically downloadnew mix in the Schedule Copy panelon the SoniqSync dialog.
Click the SoniqMix button on the SoniqSync dialog. Select a mix and click the Schedule Copy button.
Place a checkmark fortheday(s) you want SoniqSyncto download new music to your player. Note that
you must enable the Checkin Interval on your player ifyou want to receive automatic music updates on
your player.

Transferring Music
Wireless Transfer – lets you transfer your favorite playlists to
Aireo wirelessly if your PC or Laptop has wireless capability.
1. Install SoniqSync on your PC (Follow the Quick Start instruction or the
User Guide installation instructions for more help).
2. Open the SoniqSync Host application on your PC (Double-click the
SoniqSync icon located on the desktop).
3. On Aireo, press the MODE button until you see SoniqSync. Select
PC and press the < Left or Right > button on the Aireo navigation keypad
until you see the name of the PC that you want to connect to. Select
DOCK and press the Play/Select button to connect wirelessly to your PC.
Verify that the SoniqSync Host displays an On-Line status.
4. On the SoniqSync Host, click the Copy Music button.
5. Choose the playlist you want to send to Aireo from your PC files, or from
Windows Media® Player, or Musicmatch® Jukebox.
6. Click the Copy button and watch the transfer status and progress on your
SoniqSync Host.
USB Transfer – The SoniqSync Host on your PC lets you transfer your favorite
playlists to Aireo through a USB connection in the same way wireless file
transfers are performed. Just connect the USB cable to your PC and verify that
your Aireo player is “On-Line” on your SoniqSync Host.
