1-3. Circuit Description
1-3-1. TG-289 Board
The TG-289 board contains a Gain switch and a WB switch.
1-3-2. AR-5 Board
The AR-5 board contains IC0700, IC0300, IC2101 and an SD slot.
IC0700 has an interface conversion function between IC0600 and IC6000 on the VC-41 board and an audio function.
The PCIe signal from IC6000 on the VC-41 board is distributed to four devices (IC2000, IC2101, IC2602, and wired LAN) through
IC0300.
The PCIe signal from IC0300 and the USB signal from IC2602 on the VC-41 board are connected to the SD card slot.
The PCIe signal from IC0300 is connected to IC2000 and IC2101, and is then converted to the SD IO signal. The SD IO signal is
connected to the SD card slot.
1-3-3. JK-106 Board
The JK-106 board contains IC6000 and an RJ-45 connector.
The PCIe signal from IC0300 on theAR-5 board is input through the VC-41 board to IC6000.
Ethernet signals from IC6000 are connected to the RJ-45 connector.
1-3-4. VF-98 Board
The VF-98 board contains IC1101.
The EVF parallel signal from IC0600 on the VC-41 board is converted to a serial signal in IC0900 on the VC-41 board.
This converted serial signal is input through the HN-441 board to the VF-98 board.
The serial signal is converted to parallel signals in the VF-98 board, and then the parallel signals are input to OLED EVF.
1-3-5. LD-136 Board
The LD-136 board contains IC9600, IC9700, IC9800, IC9840, IC9870, IC9550, and IC9551.
The lens is controlled through SIO communication from IC6000 on the VC-41 board.
The gyro signal of the SE-1187 board is input to IC9600 to drive the vibration-proof lens for image stabilization.
IC9700 controls IRIS and variable liquid crystal ND.
IC9800 controls focus and mechanical shutter.
The zoom and focus MR sensor signals are input to IC9800, IC9840, and IC9870.
The zoom lens is driven by IC9550 and IC9551.
1-3-6. SD-66 Board
The SD-66 board contains IC101 and an SDI connector.
IC101 inputs SDI signals from IC2300 on the VC-41 board and control signals from IC0600, and also outputs SDI signals.
SDI output signals from IC101 are output to external equipment from the BNC connector.
1-3-7. CT-287 Board
The CT-287 board contains a Wi-Fi module and IC4804.
IC4804 controls the lens using the control signals from IC6000 on the VC-41 board.
The Wi-Fi module sends data to and receives data from IC6000 on the VC-41 board.
Wi-Fi radio waves are emitted from the antenna on the WF-1008 board.

1-3-8. IO-283 Board
The IO-283 board contains the NFC and a USB2.0 connector.
The NFC receives data from IC6000 on the VC-41 board through the NFC antenna.
USB2.0 signals from IC2602 on the VC-41 board are connected to the USB connector.
The USB2.0 connector is provided only for connection to an LTE dongle.
1-3-9. IF-1346 Board
The IF-1346 board contains an internal microphoneADC, Multi Interface Shoe (front) ADC, IC4002, Panel Open/Close sensor, and a
key switch inside the panel.
IC4002 performs communication with IC6000 on the VC-41 board to control the LCD and EVF.
IC4002 also detects the state of the panel inside key, Panel Open/Close state, and Panel Normal/Reverse state.
Audio signals that are input from the internal microphone and Multi Interface Shoe (front) are converted to digital data by the ADC,
and then the digital data is sent to IC0700 on theAR-5 board.
1-3-10. DD-53 Board
The DD-53 board contains IC5100, IC0300, IC5200, IC5700, IC0102, IC0103, and IC0501.
IC5700 receives the power switch signal from the PSW-109 board to control power ON/OFF.
The DC IN jack signals from the DC-184 board and the external battery power signal are input through IC0102 and IC0103 to the
DC-DC converter. The power voltage is converted to 5 V in IC0501, and the 5 V power voltage is input to IC5100 and IC0300.
The 5 V power voltage is converted to several voltages in IC5100 and IC0300, and then converted voltages are supplied to ICs.
IC5200 receives the Lanc signal from the Remote connector on the TC-117 board for control from the remote controller.
1-3-11. DC-184 Board
The DC-184 board contains a DC IN jack.
1-3-12. PD-126 Board
The PD-126 board contains IC6001.
Panel data sent from IC0600 on the VC-41 board is converted to serial data in IC0901, and then the converted serial data is converted
to panel parallel data in IC6001 on the PD-126 board.
The panel parallel data is input to the LCD panel and is displayed on the LCD panel.
1-3-13. AXM-60 Board
The AXM-60 board contains an XLR connector and an external inputADC.
External audio input signals connected to the XLR connector are input to the ADC and are converted to digital data.
The converted digital data is input to IC0700 on theAR-5 board.
1-3-14. HN-441 Board
The HN-441 board contains an ADC of the Multi Interface Shoe (rear).
Audio signals sent from the Multi Interface Shoe (rear) are converted to digital data by the ADC, and then the digital data is sent to
IC0700 on the AR-5 board.
1-3-15. PSW-109 Board
The PSW-109 board contains a power switch, a Rear Tally LED, and a POWER LED.
The power switch signals are input to the IC5700 on the DD-53 board to control power ON/OFF.
The Rear Tally LED lights according to recording status, remaining battery power, or remaining media capacity.
The POWER LED lights when the unit is turned on.

1-3-16 SE-1187 Board
The SE-1187 board contains a gyro sensor.
The gyro sensor signal is input to IC9600 on the LD-136 board.
1-3-17. VSW-81 Board
The VSW-81 board contains a switch for selecting “Preset” or “Variable” of the variable liquid crystal ND.
1-3-18. IR-73 Board
The IR-73 board containsASSIGN9 andASSIGN10 buttons.
1-3-19. MEC-43 Board
The MEC-43 board contains MENU and CANCEL buttons.
1-3-20. SH-85 Board
The SH-85 board contains a Multi Interface Shoe connector.
1-3-21. RS-55 Board
The RS-55 board contains a Panel Normal:Reverse detection switch.
The switch signals are input to IC4002 on the IF-1346 board.
1-3-22. KSW-71 Board
The KSW-71 board contains an inside key switch and a button battery.
The switch signals are input to theADC port of IC6000 on the VC-41 board.
1-3-23. SS-107 Board
The SS-107 board contains a Start/Stop button and a joystick-mounted board.
1-3-24. GCN-19 Board
The GCN-19 board contains an ND position switch and a WB SET button.
The ND switch position is detected by the PI sensor.
1-3-25. SW-1735 Board
The SW-1735 board containsASSIGN7 and ASSIGN8 buttons.
1-3-26. FU-82 Board
The FU-82 board contains an ASSIGN6 button and a FullAuto button.
1-3-27. SEC-58 Board
The SEC-58 board contains a slot select button.
1-3-28. TC-117 Board
The TC-117 board contains a REMOTE connector.

1-3-29. BI-342 Board
The BI-342 board contains a 1/3-type CMOS image sensor.
The BI-342 board is used for Rch and Bch.
1-3-30. BI-350 Board
The BI-350 board contains a 1/3-type CMOS image sensor.
The BI-350 board is used for Gch
1-3-31. VC-41 Board
The VC-41 board contains IC0600, IC6000, IC1600, and IC0100.
Signals from the imager are input to IC0100.
Image signals are distributed in IC0100 to IC0600 and IC6000.
IC0600 performs main-line signal processing.
IC6000 detects the image signal to control the lens.
IC1600 encodes and decodes main-line signals from IC0600.
The data encoded in IC1600 is sent to IC6000 through IC0700 on theAR-5 board, and is then recorded in the SD media from
IC6000.
With respect to external output signals, monitor signals are sent from IC0600 to IC2300 and then to the SDI/HDMI/VIDEO OUT
driver. Then the monitor signals are output from the connector.
IC6000 performs proxy recording and network control.
1-3-32. WF-1008 Board
The WF-1008 board contains a Wi-Fi antenna.
1-3-33. GP-1019 Board
The GP-1019 board contains a GPS module.
This GPS module is controlled by the UART signals from IC6000 on the VC-41 board.

AC power adaptor
Use theAC power adaptor when repairing the unit.
1-7-2. Precaution on Replacing the VC-41 Board
The following data need to be written on a brand-new board for repair because the board has no information that is unique to a
model.
The [LOADAND WRITE] function in “ADJUSTMENT DATA BACKUP” on the DATA tab in theAdjust Manual overwrites all
data of the unit. Therefore execute the [LOAD AND WRITE] before performing the following operation.
Destination Data
The destination data stored in the board for repair is different from the destination setting stored in the board before replacement in
some cases.
When the board has been replaced with a board for repair, be sure to set the destination.
Method of the destination data write:
Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “Destination data write” on the ADJUST tab.
Restore Data
Before replacing the board with a brand-new board, be sure to extract the data from the former one.
The following kinds of data are acquired by the unit.
• Product ID & USB Serial Data
• EVF Brightness and White Balance Data
• WB Adjustment Data
Method of the data extracting:
Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “RESTORE DATA” on the DATA tab.
USB Serial No. and Product ID
The unit is shipped after an ID (USB Serial No.) unique to each unit and an ID (Product ID) unique to each model have been written.
These IDs have not been written in a brand-new board. Therefore, after the board has been replaced, be sure to write these IDs to a
brand-new board.
Method of the ID writing:
• When ID is readable
When the unit before repair can be turned on and ID adjustment values can be read using theAdjust Manual, perform the
following work.
Work:
1. Execute [Read and Save] of “RESTORE DATA” in the DATA tab.
2. After replacement with the repair VC board, execute [LOAD and WRITE] of “PRODUCT ID & USB SERIAL No.
INPUT” in theADJUST tab of theAdjust Manual to write extracted data to the unit.
• When ID is unreadable
When ID adjustment values cannot be read, perform the following work.
Work:
After replacement with the repair VC board, start the Adjust Manual from the Adjust Station and execute “PRODUCT ID &
USB SERIAL No. INPUT” to enter ID.

Update of MAC Address
When a board that contains Wi-Fi has been replaced or when replacing a board that contains the main IC (CPU) has been replaced,
the MAC address must be reloaded.
Procedure of the MAC address update:
Perform the below operations after all work has been done.
1. Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “Wireless LAN Setting (MAC Address)” on the ADJUST tab.
2. Perform “NETWORK RESET” on the NETWORKSET menu of the unit.
Applicable parts:
• VC-41 BOARD, COMPLETE (SERVICE)
• WF-1008 BOARD, COMPLETE
After the replacement and repair, as the board has a new MAC address, ask the customer to configure the devices connected to the
unit again.
Accordingly, download the Flyer of WLAN Reset (Flyer of WLAN Reset_9834752[][].pdf) and print out it, and attach it to the unit
when returning the set to customer.
1-7-3. Notes for Replacing the EVF Display Device (LCD902)
WB adjustment values of each EVF display device (LCD902) are stored on the VC board.
Therefore, when the EVF display device (LCD902) or the VC board has been replaced, write WB adjustment values.
Procedure of the WB adjustment values writing when the EVF display device (LCD902) is replaced:
1. Check and write down the adjustment values printed on the repairing EVF display device (LCD902) label.
2. After the EVF display device (LCD902) has been replaced, execute “EVF Data Input” on the ADJUST tab by using the Adjust
Manual in theAdjust Station to write the adjustment values.
Procedure of the WB adjustment values writing when replacing VC board (in case adjustment values
can be read):
1. Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station before replacing the VC board, and execute [DATA READ AND SAVE] in the
“ADJUSTMENT DATA BACKUP” on the DATA tab to extract WB adjustment values.
2. Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station after the VC board has been replaced, and execute [DATA LOAD AND WRITE] in
the “ADJUSTMENT DATA BACKUP” on the DATA tab to write the extracted WB adjustment values.

When replacing VC board (in case adjustment values cannot be read):
1. Read the QR code printed in EVF display device (LCD902) using with “QR_Code_Reader_Ver1.0_x64”.
2. Make sure the adjustment value from the read value as shown below, and memorize it.
3. Start the Adjust Manual in the Adjust Station and execute the “EVF Data Input” on the ADJUST tab.
1-7-4. Checking the Wi-Fi Function
After this unit has been disassembled and reassembled, check the Wi-Fi function.
Required equipment:
Personal computer or smartphone with Wi-Fi interface
Procedure:
1. Turn on the unit and enable the Wi-Fi function.
Upon completion of the preparation for Wi-Fi connection, the password for Wi-Fi connection is displayed.
2. Use the PC or the smartphone to check that the unit is detected as a connectable wireless device.

1-9. Circuit Protection Parts
1-9-1. Replacing Fuses
Fuses are essential parts for safe operation. Be sure to use the parts specified in this manual. Replacing a fuse with an unspecified one
may cause fire or electric shock.
The unit is equipped with fuses. The fuses blow if overcurrent flows in the unit due to an abnormality. In that case, turn off the main
power of the unit once, inspect inside of the unit, and then remove the cause of the overcurrent.After that, replace the defective parts.
