
Step 2 – Charge the PowerBoot Module
1Take the data collector out of its
packaging.
2The PowerBoot™Module, which is
detached for shipping, contains the
battery.
3Attach the PowerBoot Module by
sliding it into the opening on the
back of the data collector.
4Secure the PowerBoot Module, using
a stylus or screwdriver, by turning the
two camlock screws a half turn to
lock.
5Plug the AC adaptor into the port of
the PowerBoot Module.
6Select the correct outlet adaptor for
your country, and then plug the AC
adaptor into an electrical supply.
Step 3 – Remove the CF-Cap
The Recon data collector is delivered
with the CF-Cap™attached.
• Remove it by loosening the two
screws located on the top of the
CF-Cap using a stylus or screwdriver.
Step 4 – Attach the Accessory Cap Base
• Ensure that the surfaces are clean and that the gasket is flat and
not bunched up.
• Secure the accessory cap base to your data collector by using a
stylus or screwdriver to tighten the two screws in the top.
Step 5 – Mount the Epoch 10 L1 GPS Receiver to
the Data Collector
1Push the Compact Flash card end of the Epoch 10 L1 GPS
receiver into the Compact Flash card slot closest to the screen on
the data collector (port 1).
There are two ports available on the data collector. To avoid
damage, make sure that you do not put one edge of the CF card
into port 1 and the other into port 2.
