Spectra Precision EPOCH 25 Reference guide

Step 1 – Charge the internal rover
battery
1Attach the DE-9 connector of the power supply to
Port 1 or Port 2 on the bottom of the Spectra
Precision®EPOCH™25 rover receiver.
2Plug the AC adaptor into an electrical supply.
The internal rover battery charges completely in
approximately 4 hours.

Step 2 – Charge the PowerBoot Module
battery pack
1Take the data collector out of its
packaging.
2Slide the PowerBoot Module™
battery pack into the opening on
the back of the data collector.
(The battery pack is detached
from the data collector for
shipping.)
3Using a stylus or a screwdriver,
turn each of the two camlock
screws on the battery pack one
half turn. This secures the
battery pack to the data
collector.
4Plug the AC adaptor into the
port on the PowerBoot Module
battery pack.
5Using the correct AC adaptor
outlet for your country, plug the
AC adaptor into an electrical
supply.

Step 3 – Set up the EPOCH 25 base
receiver
1Connect the GPS antenna cable to the EPOCH L1/L2
GPS antenna and to the base receiver. Connect the
antenna cable to the EPOCH 25 receiver.
2Install the antenna, receiver and extension pole onto
the tribrach.
You can either place the receiver in the transport case
or below the antenna on the tripod.
3Attach the external radio to the tripod.
4Connect the radio antenna to the external radio.
5Connect the radio cable between the radio and the
receiver.
6Connect the radio and the receiver to the external
battery.

Step 4 - Set up the EPOCH 25 rover
receiver
1Attach the EPOCH L1/L2 GPS antenna to the GPS
receiver and connect the antenna cable between them.
2Thread the GPS receiver onto the range pole.
3Attach the data collector bracket to the pole.
4Insert the data collector into the bracket.

Step 5 – Measure the antenna height
• For the base receiver: Use the HI tape to measure up
to the Top of Notch on the antenna or to the bottom
of the antenna mount.
• For the rover receiver: From the field software choose
the correct antenna height measurement.
