Step 1
Safety First! Before you begin
disconnect the negative
battery terminal. Verify
all components listed are
present before beginning the
installation. Step 2
Start by loosening the clamps
securing the OE intake tube to
the turbo inlet and the air box.
Step 3
Remove the OE intake assembly
out of the engine.
Step 4
Disconnect the Air Filter Minder
Harness.
Step 5
Unclip the air box cover from
both sides and pull up and out.
Step 6
Remove the Air Filter.
Step 7
Remove the IAT sensor from the
lower air box.
Step 8
Remove the four 10mm bolts
securing the lower air box
assembly. Set bolts aside for
later use.
Step 9
Remove the lower air box from
battery tray.

Step 10
Insert the heat shield assembly
into the battery tray. Secure with
the factory hardware.
Step 11
Place coupler and clamps over
the turbo inlet. Do not tighten
clamps at this time.
Step 12
Attach the rubber vibration
mount to the housing, secure
with the supplied nut and
washer.
Step 13
Using the supplied grommets,
transfer the Air Filter Minder and
IAT sensor to the new intake
tube. Depending on your vehicle,
you will use one of two holes
which are supplied for the IAT
sensor. Install the grommet and
IAT sensor in the appropriate
hole and use the supplied plug
for the remaining hole.
Step 14
Insert the intake tube into the
coupler. Secure the tube to the
rubber vibration mount.
Step 15
Carefully insert the air lter and
secure with the provided clamp.
Step 16
Reconnect the IAT sensor and Air Filter Minder
wiring connectors. Gently close the hood and
check to make sure the intake assembly does
not come in contact with the hood when closed.
Make any adjustments if neccesary.
Step 17
Make sure all clamps and
hardware are tightened.
Reconnect the negative terminal
on the battery. Start up the
engine and check for any air
leaks. Your installation is now
complete. Periodically check
all clamps and brackets. Afx
carb E.O. sticker in a prominent
place under the hood. Enjoy
your Spectre Intake System.
