Assemble two of the (B) Support Poles to the (A) Base using the quick
connect push buttons and pre-drilled holes as shown.

Slide the (C) Shoes down over the assembled (B) Support Poles and let
them rest on the (A) Base as shown.

Slide the (D) Foam Tubes over the assembled (B) Support Poles as
shown.
Slide the (E) Pants down over the assembly as shown.

Attach the (G) Torso Frame to the (B) Support Poles using the available quick
connect push buttons and pre-drilled holes as shown.
Slip the (H) Small Clown Suit over the (F) Small Torso Frame as shown.
Connect the (F) Small Torso Frame to the available (B) Support Poles by
using the quick connect push buttons and pre-drilled holes as shown.
Attach the remaining (B) Support Poles to the (F) Small Torso Frame using
the quick connect push buttons and pre-drilled holes as shown.
Slide the forked hook end of the (I) Left Arm up through the left sleeve of the
(H) Small Clown Suit. Then set the forked hook of the (I) Left Arm into the
housing available on the left side of the (F) Small Torso Frame as shown

Slide the forked hook end of the (J) Right Arm up through the right sleeve of
the (H) Small Clown Suit. Then set the forked hook of the (J) Right Arm
into the housing available on the right side of the (F) Small Torso Frame as
shown

Slide the forked hook available under the (J) Small Clown Head into the
housing available at the top of the (F) Small Torso Frame as shown.
Slide the forked hook available under the (L) Head into the housing available
at the top of the (G) Torso Frame as shown.

Connect all cables to their corresponding cable by color as shown. Connect
the matching motor cables from the Function Control Box and the Motor as
shown.
Secure the Sensor from the Function Control Box on the (G) Torso Frame
to the (M) Large Clown Suit using the available hook & loop closures as
shown.
Secure the (M) Large Clown Suit to the (G) Torso Frame using the avail-
able hook & loop closures as shown.

Make sure the lower portion of the (M) Large Clown Suit is tucked behind
the smaller clown.
Secure the (H) Small Clown Suit to the (K) Small Clown Head by using the
available hook & loop closure as shown.
Secure the hook & loop closures at the back of the (H) Small Clown Suit as
shown.
Place the (N) Trench Coat over the assembly as shown.
Set the forked hook available on the inner left side of the (N) Trench Coat
into the housing available on the left side of the (G) Torso Frame as shown.
Then set the forked hook available on the inner right side of the (N) Trench
Coat into the housing available on the right side of the (G) Torso Frame as
shown.
Secure the (N) Trench Coat to the (M) Large Clown Suit using the available
hook & loop closures as the upper left and right sides of the costumes as
shown.

OPTIONAL STEP PAD SETUP
Follow steps 1 through 7 on the installation
1. Connect the wire from the optional Step Pad to the jack
labeled “STEP PAD” on the control box. See Fig. 24.
2. Step on the Step Pad to activate the prop. See Fig. 25.
Step Pad (SKU #01181288) is sold separately and can be
purchased in-store and online at www.SpiritHalloween.com
OPTIONAL EXTERNAL SPEAKER SETUP
This prop can be played through an external speaker
(sold separately). To use this feature, follow steps 1 through 7
1. Connect the wire from your external speaker to the jack
labeled “SPEAKER” on the control box. See Fig. 26.
2. Adjust the volume level to suit. See Fig. 27.
Note: Use external speakers with an impedance of 8 ohms only.

OPTIONAL MULTI-PROP REMOTE SETUP
Follow steps 1 through 7 on the installation
1. Connect one of the transponders to the prop by inserting the
wire of the transponder into either the Try Me or Step Pad
jack as labeled on the control box. See Fig. 28.
2. Flip the switch on the transponder to the ON position.
Click the button on the Multi-Prop Remote that matches
the letter on the transponder to activate the prop.
See Fig. 29.
OPTIONAL BATTERY ADAPTER SETUP
Follow steps 1 through 7 on the installation
1. Install 4 D Batteries into Spirit Battery Adapter.
See Fig. 30 .
2. Connect wire from Spirit Battery Adapter to the 5.9V3.0A
adapter port on the control box. See Fig. 31.
3. Turn switch on Battery Adapter to the ON position

The infrared sensor distance and ambient temperature are directly related. When the body temperature
(98.6° F) is different to the ambient air temperature, the infrared sensor distance will be farther. When the
body emperature (98.6° F) is close to the ambient air temperature, the infrared sensor distance will be shorter.
Do not use this item in an environment where air currents are caused by a window, air conditioning, or air outlet.
Do not have the infrared sensor face a direct source of heat such as a heater.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Secure all the hook & loop closures at the back of the (N) Trench Coat as
shown.
Secure the (N) Trench Coat to the top of the (G) Torso Frame by using the
available hook & loop closures as shown.

OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Plug the Power Adapter into a standard power outlet and adjust the settings on the
Function Control Box to your liking.
2.
Mr.Salty
has 3 operation settings which can be found on the main Function Control Box
on the (G) Torso Frame:
• Sensor: This switch mode will activate lights, sound, and animation when the
Infra-red (IR) sensor is activated and will operate for 1 audio-cycle with each activation.
The Infra-red (IR) sensor has a range of up to 2 m/6.5 ft. and will activate when some-
one comes within an 80-degree angle from left-to-right, as well as from above and below.
• “ ” On: This switch mode will continuously operate the lights, sound, and animation of
the item.
• “ ” Off/Try-Me: This switch mode allows the item to be activated only if triggered
by using a Step Pad or Try Me Button (Not included). The item will operate for one
audio cycle with each Try Me activation. Refer to Assembly Instructions Step 3 for
further details.
• “ ” Volume: Raise or lower the volume using the volume control turn dial, turn all
the way down to turn the volume off.
Caution: Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user’s authority to
operate the equipment.
NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC
Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment
generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this
equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and
on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: Reorient or relocate the receiving

Care and Storage Instructions
For best performance operate your item indoors. When not in use, store this product in it’s original packaging. Keep away from
heat and moisture.
• Please use the transformer supplied by manufacturer.
• Please assemble item according to instructions. Connect all wires according to matching color.
• Children should be supervised by adults. The item should not be grabbed, as it becomes a tipping hazard. Keep all away from
the transformer, as it heats up during operation.
Trouble Shooting Steps
• Be sure to assemble on a flat surface.
• Only use the power adapter that came with this item.
• Make sure all cables are connected securely before operation. NOTE that cables are color-coded and could affect function if
not connected correctly.

BATTERY INSTALLATION
Battery installation should be performed by an adult.
• Use only batteries recommended in the instructions.
• Do not mix old and new batteries.
• Do not mix alkaline, rechargeable, standard,
or different types of batteries.
• Be mindful to insert batteries with correct polarity as indicated.
• Remove all exhausted batteries.
• Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged
under adult supervision.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from toy
before being charged.
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
WARNINGS:
• This product is designed for indoor or covered
porch use only, and should not be placed
outdoors subject to the weather.
• This item is not a toy. For decoration only.
• Choking hazard due to small parts.
• Keep all plastic and wire parts away from children.
