User instructions V0718
Thank you for purchasing the SpitJack Rotisserie Grilling Basket. All our products are designed and constructed to give
you years of reliable service if used properly and kept adequately maintained. Please read over the material below
before assembling or using the product. There are some important notes, tips and safety cautions mixed in that will
help you in using the Rotisserie Grilling Basket safely and effectively.
Important: The Rotisserie Grilling Basket is designed primarily to be used with a rotisserie spit or rod with a
maximum 7/8” outside dimension (diameter). Also, the food to be cooked can be no taller (height) than 2”
After unpacking, make sure you have all parts listed below - top and bottom part of basket, small bag with two bolts.
Top of basket or “clamp”
Bottom of basket (“basket”) and bolts
This product comes in two basic parts - the “basket”and the “clamp”. The basket is the bottom part where you will
place your food and the clamp is the top part that is pressed down over the food in the basket to secure it in place.
There is a notched fitting (adjustment brackets) on both sides of the basket that allow for pressure adjustments for
different size foods. Tip: try to keep the food you will be cooking an even thickness so that the clamping design of the
basket will be most effective.
How to use and care for the SpitJack Rotisserie Basket
1. Wash and rinse all parts (by hand) with warm soapy water before the first use.
2. Remove the clamp from the basket by compressing the end hooks (on both sides)
and lifting it up and off.
3. Slide your spit into the basket trough the spit holes on each end.
4. Insert the tightening bolts into the tightening bolt nuts on the bottom ends of the
basket and finger tighten them until they hold the spit securely.
5. Place your pre-seasoned food into the basket on either side of the spit.

6. Place the clamp over the food and compress the end hooks. Insert
the clamp back into the adjustment brackets to secure the food in
place. The clamp is flexible and may bend a bit to get the desired
fit.
7. Check to see that all food is secure. If there is a difference in the
height of the food, or if you find some pieces or parts of the food
are not held securely, try adjusting the clamp by moving it to a
lower level of the adjustment bracket on one or both sides. You may
also need to rearrange the food or modify it to arrive at an ideal
setup. All food should be in contact with the basket or clamp both on the top and the bottom and held securely
in place.
8. Your basket in now loaded and ready to use. Insert your spit assembly into your rotisserie according to
manufacturer’s instructions.
Cooking tips:
1. Food on the outer edges (away from the spit) of the basket may cook quicker than food closer to the spit.
2. You can stop the turning of the rotisserie and use the basket as broiling basket.
a. Stop the spit turning when the basket is parallel to the fire source.
b. Turn 180 degrees periodically so the opposite side is facing the fire.
Maintenance
1. Clean all soiled parts of the basket thoroughly with a mild abrasive pad or cleanser. Pre-soak in warm water to
help remove baked on food particles.

Safety precautions
The SpitJack Rotisserie Grilling Basket will be used outdoors in conjunction with live fire and high heat and
safety awareness and proper safety procedures should be followed always while in use.
Fire, heat and burn hazard:
Since you will need a large heat source to use the Rotisserie Grilling Basket, special precautions must be taken to
prevent harm to yourself, other people, the environment, property, and the equipment.
1. Make sure you have properly prepared your “pit” area where the fuel will be burned. There should be not be
any easily combustible material either directly under the burning area or in nearby proximity. Keep all
combustible material a safe distance from the fire always.
2. Use only appropriate fuel sources (wood logs, natural or other charcoal products) for your heat source. Use
only approved starter fluid (or other methods) to start the fire only. Do not add starter fluid, gasoline or any
other highly flammable material to the fire once it has started.
3. Tend the fire continuously and carefully. Never leave sight of the live fire. Do not add more fuel than needed.
4. Be aware of fat dripping from the cooking meat. Hot fat can easily ignite if it comes in contact with a live
flame. If you have a fat collection device or system, make sure collected or excess fat is removed periodically
and not let to sit hot by the heat.
5. Do not wear very loose fitted clothing such as a long dress or robe while tending the fire.
6. Keep a properly rated and sized fire extinguisher handy for emergency use.
7. Use care when handling any part of the Rotisserie Grilling Basket or anything that has been close to the heat
