COOKING TIPS
6
HELPFUL HINTS
• Before cooking rinse rice thoroughly to remove ex-
cess bran and starch. This will help reduce brown-
ing and sticking to the bottom of the pot, but it may
also reduce nutrients in the rice.
• If you have experienced any sticking due to the type
of rice you are cooking, try adding a light coating of
vegetable oil to the bottom of the inner pot before
adding rice.
• Raisins and dried fruits will absorb as much water
as rice, so put them into the measuring cup to-
gether with the rice.
NOTE
Use one cup of water for
each cup of rice.
When cooking brown or
wild rice, add an additional
3/4 cup water.
This is only a general
measuring guide. As there
are many dierent kinds
of rice available, rice/water
measurements may vary
slightly.
