IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children
less than 8 years old. The appliance is not suitable for the
use of children under 8 years old due to hot parts and
potential hazards. Children over 8 must be supervised by
an adult at all times when using or cleaning the appliance.
This is not a toy!
The appliance can be used by persons with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities if they have been
given supervision and instruction and understand the use
and hazards involved.

opening the lid during or
after cooking. Hot steam will
escape and may cause burns.
17 During the cooking process, you
may see steam coming from the
ventonthelid.Thisisnormal.
Do not cover, touch or obstruct
steamvent.
18 Donottouchhotsurfaces.

19 Store rice cooker in a cool, dry
place.
20 Use appliance on a level, dry,
andheat-resistantsurface.
21 Always attach plug to appliance

outlet.Todisconnect,switchthe
applianceoffrst,thenremove
plugfromwalloutlet.
22 Unplug from outlet when not in

BEFORE FIRST USE
• Read all instructions and important
safeguards.
• Remove all packaging materials
and make sure items are received
ingoodcondition.
• Tear up all plastic bags as they can
posearisktochildren.
• Wash accessories in warm, soapy
water.Rinseanddrythoroughly.
• Remove inner pot from rice
cooker and clean with warm, soapy
water.Rinseanddrythoroughly
beforereturningtocooker.
• Wipebodycleanwithadampcloth.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners or
scouringpads.
• Do not immerse the rice cooker
base, cord or plug in water at any
time.

USAGE
COOKING RICE
• Using the measuring cup provided
,measuredesiredamountofrice.
• Rinse rice in the inner pot until the
waterbecomesrelativelyclear.
• Using the water measurement lines
inside the inner pot, add appropri-
ateamountofwater.Forsofterrice,
allow rice to soak for 10-20 minutes
priortocooking.
• Close lid and plug power cord into
outlet.PresstheON/OFFswitch
(model 6807 only) to turn on the
cooker.
• Press switch downtocookmode.
The COOK indicator light will
illuminate.Whencookingiscom-
plete, it will automatically switch to
warm mode and the WARM
indicator light willilluminate.
• After cooking, allow rice to stand
for 5-10 minutes without remov-
inglid.Thiswillensurethatriceis
cookedthoroughly.Iftheinnerpot
is not inserted correctly the COOK
switchwillnotwork.
• Never leave the rice scoop or any
other utensils in the pot while the
rice cooker is in WARMmode.
• Do not use the WARM mode
for re-heating the rice once it is
cooked.
RICE / WATER MEASUREMENT TABLE
• As a general guide use one cup of water for each cup of rice.
Add slightly more water for softer rice or slightly less for rmer rice.
• When cooking brown or wild rice, add an additional 3/4 cup water.
• This is only a general measuring guide. As there are many different
kinds of rice available, rice/water measurement may vary.
• All measurements are approximate.

helpful hints
Before cooking rinse rice to remove excess bran and starch. This will help reduce
browning and sticking to the bottom of the pot, but it may also reduce nutrients
in the rice. If you have experienced any sticking due to the type of rice you are
cooking, try adding a light coating of vegetable oil to the bottom of the inner pot
before adding rice. Raisins and dried fruit will absorb as much water as rice, so
put them into the measuring cup along with the rice.

CLEANING
Always unplug unit and allow to cool
completely before cleaning.
• Remove the inner cooking pot .
Wash it in warm, soapy water using
aspongeordishcloth.Intheevent
of burnt-on food pour in some warm
soapy water and leave to soak and
washasusual.
• Rinse and dry thoroughly to avoid
stainingordiscoloration.
• Repeat process with provided
accessories (rice scoop, measur-
ingcup).
• Wipe the rice cooker base clean
with a damp cloth and dry with a
softcloth.
• Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners
or products that are not considered
safetouseonnon-stickcoatings.
• Always make sure the outside of
the inner pot isdrypriortouse.If
inner cooking pot is returned when
wet, it may damage this product,
causingittomalfunction.
• Rice scoop and measuring cup are
dishwashersafe.
