The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important
operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the product.
The lightning with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the
pressence of uninsulated “Dangerous Voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient
magnitude to constitute a risk of electrical shock to a person.
The light bulb is intended to alert the user of important information or a detailed explanation.

1. Standby button
Standby mode.
2. Play/Select
The Play/Select button is a skip-wheel which allows you to skip left |<< and skip right >>| by turning
the wheel in either direction.
• The button in the center works in exactly the same way as the Play/Pause button. During play mode,
it toggles between Play and Pause. In the menu mode, the button is used as the select-function.
• Holding down the button will access the main menu.

The CD loader tray can be opened and closed using the eject button.

The RS232 communication connectors are for communication to a PC or remote control from Steinway
Lyngdorf equipment with broadcast commands or linked control between other components.

SETUP
Connecting the CDP-1
• Connect a digital audio output from the CDP-1 to the SP-1 Stereo Processor.
• Connect the CDP-1´s Steinway Lyngdorf Digtial Link.
Switch “Link termination“ to on if the CDP-1 is the last Steinway Lyngdorf product in the chain.
If inserting the CDP-1 at the end of a chain of amplifiers, make sure to switch off the amplifier´s dipp
switch link termination. To do this, toggle the number 8 switch from on to off.
• In the CDP-1 menu system, select Yes in “Link Control.”
• In the SP-1 menu system “Setup” -> “Link CD” select the input the CDP-1 is connected to.

MENU SYSTEM
The functionality of each of the menu items is:
CD Play Mode
• Normal Play
• Repeat Entire Disc
• Repeat One Track
• Random Play
CD-Text Display
Shows additional CD information (e.g. album name, song name, and artist) if available.
When turned on, track information will be reduced in height.
Time Display
Show Remaining Time:

Link Control
Enable Link Control:

Dig. Out Sample Rate
Chooses the sample rate of the digital outputs.
• 48 kHz / 24 bit
• 96 kHz / 24 bit (default)
• 192 kHz / 24 bit
Display Timeout
The timeout can be set to on or off. On is a 10 second display timeout.
Auto Off
Auto off will automatically turn off the CDP-1 after it has been idle for 5 minutes.

Advanced
• Software Info
Displays the firmware version.
• Factory Reset
Resets the CDP-1 to the factory default settings.
• Software Update
To update the CDP-1 with new firmware, do the following:
1. Download the new firmware
2. Upload it to the root of a FAT32 formatted USB stick.
3. Go to Software Update in the Advanced menu of the CDP-1 and click Yes.
4. The display should show “Updating: Name of firmware file.”
5. When fully updated, the CDP-1 will go to standby mode.
Exit Menu
Exits the menu.

NOTES OF IMPORTANCE
Unpacking the CDP-1
Carefully remove the unit and accessory kit from the carton, and visually check for shipping damage.
Contact both the shipper and your Steinway Lyngdorf representative immediately if the unit bears any
sign of damage from mishandling. All Steinway Lyngdorf equipment is carefully inspected before leaving
our factory.
Operating Voltage
Cleaning and Maintenance
This unit does not require any regular maintenance except to keep its exterior clean. Simply wipe its
exterior with a clean soft cloth. A small amount of non-abrasive cleaner may be used on the cloth to
remove any excessive dirt or fingerprints. Do not use abrasive cleaners or cleaners containing liquid
solvents.
Keep shipping carton and packing material for future use or in the event that the unit
needs servicing. If this unit is shipped without the original packing, damage could occur
and void the warranty.
Connect the power input only to the AC source printed on the label. The warranty will
not cover any damage caused by connecting to the wrong type of AC mains.
Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet before cleaning.

Mains Connector
Mains voltage to the CDP-1 is applied via an IEC320 type connector. The supplied cable with safety
ground should be used to connect the CDP-1 to a mains outlet.

If you have any problems with or questions regarding your Steinway Lyngdorf product, please contact
your nearest Steinway Lyngdorf representative.
Connect the power input only to the AC source printed on the label and the setting
shown on the voltage selector switch. The warranty will not cover any damage caused
by connecting to the wrong type of AC mains.
Always disconnect the CDP-1 from the mains before changing any connections to its
inputs or outputs.
