Operation:
1) PowerIndicator
Thepower indicatorwillilluminatewhen theDIbox is switched on andoperationalfrom a18-48Vphantom power
source. When used with a9VPP3 battery thepower indicatorwill flash.
2) PowerSwitch
On/Off control. Movetheswitch do theON position to switch on theunit. Switch off after useto preservebattery life.
3) GroundLift
Thegroundlift switch can beused to prevent earth loops within thesystem. Hums caused by groundloops often
occuraround50Hz. Movetheswitch to theUP(LIFT)position.
4) BalancedXLR Output
Standard 3-pin XLRbalancedoutput. Pin 1 GND, pin 2 +vesignal(Hot), pin 3 –vesignal(Cold). Connect theoutput
of theDIbox to yourmixingconsole’s balanced XLRmicinput takingcare to usegoodquality 2-core screened cable
with all pins wired. To prevent any noise, clicks orpops themixingconsole’s input channel shouldbe muted before
theconnection is made.

5) 9VBatteryCover
Unscrew thethumbscrew in an anti-clockwisedirection. Usegoodquality Alkaline9VPP3 cell batteries forlong
operationallife. If usingtheDIbox with phantom power thebattery circuit will automatically switch off.
6) PAD(Attenuation)
When usingtheDIbox with linelevel sources it may often be necessary to reducetheinput gain – theswitchable
PADprovides 20dBof attenuation. Movetheswitch tothedown position to activatethePAD. ThePADshouldonly be
used when theDI-50 distorts internally, if thedistortion is generated within themixingconsole theinput gain on the
console shouldbe adjusted.
7) Signal Input
Unbalanced 6.35mm (¼”)mono jack socket suitable forusewith instruments, keyboards orlinelevelsources.
Connections shouldbe wiredTIP= PositiveandRING = NEGATIVE
8) Signal Input
Unbalanced XLRsocket suitable forusewith instruments, keyboards orlinelevelsources. This input is wiredin
parallel with the6.35mm (¼”).
9) LinkOutput
Unbalanced 6.35mm (¼”)mono jack socket forlink output to aguitaramplifier etc. This input is wiredin parallel
with the6.35mm (¼”).
