DRIVER’S AREA
BHazard warning asher
A
5-speed Automatic Transmission vehicle
To turn on, push button.
Use in emergency conditions.
CIgnition switch
LOCK :
Insertion and removal of key, steering lock.
ACC :
Electrical accessories usage.
ON :
Normal operating position after engine is started.
START : Engine is started.
The key can be turned from ACC to LOCK only when the key is
pushed in while turning it (all models) and the select lever is in
the Pposition (AT and CVT models).

Q
ATilt/telescopic steering wheel
Pull the tilt/telescopic lock lever down. Move
the steering wheel to the desired level. Pull the
lever up to lock the steering wheel in place.
Make sure the steering wheel is securely locked.

Front fog lights operate only when
headlight switch is in...
- position.
- AUTO position and the headlights
are on.
Even if the ignition key is removed from the ignition switch, the lights can be illuminated by operation the
light control switch position from (off) to or .
To prevent the battery from discharged, before leaving the vehicle, make sure that the light control switch
is turned to (off).
1 Wiper
To operate, push lever down/up
to the following positions:
:Mist (for a single wipe)
:Off
:Intermittent
:Low speed
:High speed
2 Intermittent time control
To adjust the operating
interval, turn dial.
3 Washer
To wash the windshield, pull the
wiper control lever toward you.
1 Headlights
To turn on, rotate knob to:
:Instrument panel illumination, parking lights, front side
marker lights, rear side marker lights, tail lights and
license plate lights are on.
:Instrument panel illumination, headlights, parking
lights, front side marker lights, rear side marker lights,
tail lights and license plate lights are on.
AUTO : Headlights and the lights mentioned above are
automatically ON/OFF.
:The headlights are all off.
2 High/low beam change
To change to high beam, push lever forward.
To return, pull back to detent.
To ash high beams, pull lever toward you and release.
3 Turn signal
Move lever up or down.

HIllumination brightness control
GRemote control mirror switch
To select mirror, turn the knob to Lor R.
To adjust the mirror, move the knob in the
direction you want to move the mirror.
To adjust brightness of the clock display, audio, air
conditioner, multi function display, and meter/gauge.
When the control dial is turned fully upward to position,
the illumination brightness becomes the maximum and
the automatic dimming function does not work at all.
IVehicle Dynamics Control off switch
To deactivate Vehicle Dynamics Control system, push button.
light on the combination meter illuminates.
Deactivation should not be used except when absolutely necessary,
please refer to the Owner’s Manual.
Clock and multi-function display
For vehicles with navigation system,
refer to Owner’s Manual Supplement.

Multi-information display (if equipped)

1 Multi information display:
Various information will be shown on the multi information
display. Also, a warning message will appear on the display if any
malfunction, etc., are detected. In addition, several settings for the
displayed content can be performed.
2 Control switch:
By operating ▲ or ▼ of the control switch, the screens and
selection items can be switched.
Please refer to the Owner’s Manual.
1 Front passenger’s seatbelt warning
2 Front passenger’s frontal airbag ON and OFF indicators
3 Multi-function display:
With the ignition switch in the ON position, each successive press
of the multi-function display switching knob toggles the display.
4 Clock:
To adjust the time, press +button or –button.
For detailed information, please refer to page 12-13 in the
Owner’s Manual.

LManual transmission 6-speed (if equipped)
To move the shift lever to the Rposition, raise the slider 1and hold it
in that position.

MAutomatic transmission/continuously variable transmission (CVT) (if equipped)
When the select lever is in the Dand Mposition, the gearshift can be
performed using the shift paddle.
Pull the +shift paddle to upshift one level.
Pull the –shift paddle to downshift one level.
NShift paddle (if equipped)
With the brake pedal depressed,
shift while pressing the button in
Shift while pressing the button in
Shift without pressing the button
P = Park To shift the select lever from the Pto any other
position, you should depress the brake pedal fully.
R = Reverse For backing the vehicle.
N = Neutral No gear engaged.
D = Drive For normal driving. The transmission automatically
shifts into a suitable gear.
M = Manual mode The gear position indicator and upshift indicator
and/or downshift indicator on the combination
meter illuminate.
Gearshift can be performed using the paddle shift
switch behind the steering wheel.
Audio control buttons
For the detail and the other type of audio control buttons, please refer to your Owner’s Manual.
Models with
hands-free system
MODE : Briey press to select desired audio mode.
(FM, AM, SAT, CD, USB/iPod®, BT Audio, AUX)
Press and hold this button to cut the volume to zero (MUTE).
/ :
Radio mode: Briey press to select a preset channel. Press and hold
this switch to seek receivable radio station.
CD / USB / BT Audio mode: Briey press to select the next/previous
track. Press and hold to select the next/
previous folder when the MP3/WMA/AAC
format track is playing.
+/ –: Press to adjust volume level.
: Press to turn on the voice command system. To turn off the voice command
system, wait for 5 seconds without using the voice command system.
/ : Press to turn on the hands-free mode. Press to turn off the
hands-free mode.

PElectronic parking brake switch/Hill Holder switch
To apply the parking brake, press the parking brake switch 1 rmly.
To release, pull the parking brake switch 1toward you while the
ignition switch is in the ON position and the brake pedal (all models)
and the clutch pedal (MT models) are depressed.
When the parking brake is applied while the ignition switch is in
the ON position, the brake system warning light and the indicator
light 2illuminate.
Automatic release function
The parking brake will be automatically released by depressing the
accelerator pedal except in the following conditions.
– Any door (other than the trunk lid or rear gate) is open.
– The driver’s seatbelt is not fastened.
Hill Holder function
The electronic parking brake system has a Hill Holder function.
The parking brake will be automatically applied when stopping on
an uphill slope with the brake pedal depressed.
You can activate/deactivate the Hill Holder function by pushing the
Hill Holder switch 3.

QCruise control
Cruise control operates when vehicle speed is 40 km/h (25 mph)
or more.
1To activate: Press the cruise control main button.
2To set speed: Press the RES/SET switch to the SET side at
desired speed and release it.
3To increase the speed:
- Press the RES/SET switch to the RES side and hold it,
release at desired speed.
- Depress accelerator pedal, and press the RES/SET switch to
the SET side at desired speed.
- For incremental acceleration, press RES/SET switch to the RES
side quickly, each tap = plus 1 km/h (0.6 mph)
4To decrease the speed:
- Press the RES/SET switch to the SET side and hold it,
release at desired speed.
- Depress brake pedal, and press the RES/SET switch to the SET
side at desired speed.
- For incremental deceleration, press RES/SET switch to the SET
side quickly, each tap = minus 1 km/h (0.6 mph)
5To temporarily cancel: Press CANCEL button or depress brake
pedal or clutch pedal (MT). Return to preset speed after it has
been canceled: RES/SET switch to the RES side.
6To deactivate: Push the cruise control main button.
Cruise control is always deactivated when ignition switch is
turned to ACC or LOCK.

DOOR LOCKS AND WINDOWS
Remote keyless entry
Power windows
Power-door locking switch
To unlock driver’s door, briey press .
To unlock all doors and rear gate: Press once, an electronic chirp
will sound twice and the hazard warning ashers will ash twice.
Press again a second time within 5 seconds.
To open the trunk lid, press and hold .
To lock all doors and rear gate, briey press .
PANIC
The power windows operate only when the ignition switch is in
the ON position.
1For driver’s window
One-touch auto-down: Press the switch down until it clicks and
release it, window will fully open; pull switch back briey to stop;
press lightly and hold for normal operation.
One-touch auto-up (if equipped): Pull the switch up until it clicks and
release it, window will fully close; press switch briey to stop;
pull lightly and hold for normal operation.
2For passenger’s window (front and rear)
Press switch down and hold to open; pull back and hold to close.
3Lock switch
Press the switch down until clicks, only driver's window operates;
press again and passenger windows function again.

Child safety locks
Located on the edge of the rear doors.
When the lever is in the LOCK position, the door cannot be opened
from inside. The door can only be opened from the outside.

Trunk lid opener
To open the trunk lid from the inside, press and hold the trunk lid
opener switch for more than 1 second.
Fuel ller lid release lever
To open the fuel ller lid, pull the lid release lever up.
The lever is on the oor, left of the driver’s seat.
Hood release knob
1To open engine hood, pull the hood
release knob under the instrument panel.
2Release the secondary hood release by
moving the lever between the front grille
and the hood toward the left.
3Lift up the hood.

To lock and unlock the trunk lid opener
switch, open the glove box and press
the trunk lid opener lock button.
Sunroof (if equipped)
1 Sliding:
Press rear side of the OPEN/CLOSE switch to open and
front side to close.
2 Tilting:
Press the rear side of the UP/DOWN switch to raise and
front side of it to lower.

Move switch forward or backward.
2Seat cushion angle (driver’s seat only):
Pull up or push down the front end of switch.
3Seatback reclining:
Move switch forward or backward.
4Seat height adjustment (driver’s seat only):
Pull up or push down the rear end of switch.
5Lumbar support control (driver’s seat only):
Push the front side or the rear side of the switch.

1Forward and backward adjustment:
Pull the lever upward and slide seat forward or backward.
2Seat height adjustment (driver’s seat only):
Pull lever up to raise seat; push lever down to lower it.
3Seatback reclining:
Pull lever up and move seatback forward or backward.

BHead restraint
To raise head restraint, pull it up.
To lower, push it down while pressing release button.
CSeat heater
To turn on the seat heater, press the LOW or HIGH position on the
switch, as desired, depending on the temperature.
Selecting the HIGH position will cause the seat to heat up quicker.
To turn off the seat heater, slightly press the opposite side of the
current position.
DFront seat shoulder belt anchor height
To lower anchor height, push the release button and slide the
anchor down.
To raise anchor height, slide anchor up.
EFolding down rear seatback
To fold down the seatback, open the trunk lid and pull the
release lever on the side that you want to fold down.
