This Wolf Warming Drawer Technical Service and Parts Manual, Part #802981, has been compiled with information
provided by Watertown Metal Products, a division of Western Industries, Inc. This manual provides the most recent
technical service information that will enable the service technician to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions, per-
form necessary repairs and return a Wolf Warming Drawer to proper operational condition.
The Service Technician should read the complete instructions contained in this Technical Service and Parts Manual
before initiating any repairs on the Wolf Appliance.

INSTALLATION INFORMATION
The Wolf warming drawer is designed to be set into a built-in wall or cabinet installation.
This section of the manual covers some of the installation issues that a service technician may need to know when
servicing a Wolf warming drawer. If additional installation information is needed after reviewing this section of the
manual, please refer to the installation guide or contact the Wolf Appliance Customer Service Department.

• 110 to 120 Volts AC, 60Hz, 15 ampere fused electrical supply
• Separate electrical circuit serving only this appliance

Installation Specifications (Non-Integrated)
The warming drawer is designed to be set into a built-in installation alone, or in combination with a Wolf wall oven,
microwave oven or cooktop. The illustration below shows the rough-in dimensions for a “non-Integrated” warming
drawer installation below a wall oven (See Figure 2-2).
NOTE: Prior to serial #13005870, the warming drawer could not be installed in an Integrated application. See
rough-in dimensions for an Integrated application on following page.

Input operations for the electronic control system are performed at the control panel, which is located at the right
side of the faceplate. The control board, which is located directly behind the control panel, monitors the input opera-
tions performed at the control panel, supplies a signal to the power board to switch the heat element on and off and,
through the use of LED’s (Light Emitting Diodes), displays unit ON/OFF condition, temperature setting, actual tem-
perature and temperature range at various locations on the control panel. The power board provides 5 volts DC
power to the control board, a low volt temperature sense signal to the control board and 115 volts AC power to the
heat element. The auto-reset thermal protector provides overheat protection in the event of control failure. (See
Figures 3-1A & 3-1B) Input operations performed at the control panel are described on the following pages.

CONTROL PANEL LAYOUT
The diagram at right shows the layout of the control
panel, behind which is the control board. The LED
readout, ON/OFF indicator light and temperature range
indicator lights are part of the control board. (See
Figure 3-2)
NOTE: The control panel is hidden when the drawer is
closed. When the drawer is opened, the control panel
can be found at the right side of the front plate.

BASIC ELECTRONIC CONTROL INPUT OPERATIONS
The following illustrations show the basic input operations performed and/or observed at the control panel. Power-
up mode, switching the unit ON and OFF, selecting preset temperature settings and adjusting temperature setting
with the adjustment keys will be explained.

Power-up Mode
When 115V AC is initially applied to the unit, all LED
segments of each digit on the temperature display illu-
minate individually, then the Power ON/OFF indicator
LED and temperature range indicator LED’s (from top to
bottom) will illuminate individually. This is followed by
all LED’s illuminate simultaneously for approximately
five seconds (See Figure 3-3). At the end of diagnostic
mode, the unit displays the software revision level
(number 100 at this writing), then enters OFF mode.
NOTE: This LED illumination sequence also occurs if
power to the unit is interrupted for more than four sec-
onds and/or diagnostic mode (which is covered later in
this manual) is initiated.

Unit ON/OFF
As mentioned earlier, the unit enters OFF mode after
power-up mode. By pressing and releasing the Power
ON/OFF key, ON mode is initiated and power is allowed
past the electronic control system to the heater circuit
and the LED’s. When ON mode is initiated, the unit
defaults to the preset low temperature setting (set at the
factory to 150°F) which will appear in the readout win-
dow and the low temperature range indicator will illumi-
nate. (See Figure 3-4)
When the temperature in the cavity is climbing up to
temperature setting, the heater will be energized con-
stantly until the cavity reaches 10°F below temperature
setting, then the heater will “duty cycle” on and off until
the temperature is 1°F above temperature setting; the
heater is then de-energized. When the temperature
falls 1°F below temperature setting, the heater again
duty cycles.
To switch the unit to OFF mode, press the Power
ON/OFF key while the unit is ON.
NOTE: Whenever the heat element is energized, the
far right decimal point will illuminate.
NOTE: After the last key stroke is performed in ON
mode, the electronic control begins the automatic shut-
off countdown. The automatic shut-off time interval is
set at the factory for four hours, but can be adjusted for
zero to four hours in one hour increments. This will be
covered later in the manual.

Selecting Preset Temperature Settings
After the unit has been switched to ON mode, there are
four preset temperature settings to choose from:
• HIGH (190°F)
• MEDIUM (170°F)
• LOW (150°F)
• PROOF (100°F)
By pressing the appropriate key, the preset temperature
setting will be initiated and that temperature setting will
appear in the temperature readout window. The MEDI-
UM preset temperature key was used in this example.
(See Figure 3-5)
NOTE: Preheat time (the time it takes to reach temper-
ature setting) is as follows:
• HIGH - 20 Minutes
• MEDIUM - 15 Minutes
• LOW - 8 Minutes
• PROOF - 0 Minutes
NOTE: When the temperature setting is changed by
pressing the preset keys, the new temperature setting
will be displayed for three seconds, then actual temper-
atures will be displayed until the new temperature set-
ting is achieved.
