INTRODUCTION
Follow directions in this document for installation of platforms, ladders and safety cages on Mixed-Flow
Grain Dryers.
IMPORTANT: Follow applicable safety guidelines in Mixed-Flow Grain Dryer Owner’s Operation Manual,
L2414, while performing work outlined in this manual.
If you did not receive a copy of Mixed-Flow Grain Dryer Owner’s Operation Manual, contact Sukup
Manufacturing Co. by phone, fax, e-mail or regular mail and request a copy of Manual L2414. Contact
information is on cover and back of this manual.
Receiving and Inspection
Carefully inspect shipment for damage as soon as it is received. Verify that quantity of parts or packages
received corresponds to quantity shown on packing slip. Report any damage or shortage to delivery
carrier as soon as possible. Sukup Manufacturing’s responsibility for damage to equipment ended with
acceptance by delivery carrier. Refer to bill of lading. Save all paperwork and documentation furnished
with components.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Find drawings of platforms for your dryer and familiarize yourself with sections, locations and with
mounting brackets used.
Following are general instructions:
 Find and examine applicable front and rear platform, ladder and cage layout.
 Assemble platform(s) on ground.
 Lift heater platform and attach to dryer after base module and first heat module have been set.
NOTICE: Ensure dryer is not full of grain when attaching platforms. Loosening bolts for attachment of
components could result in damage to dryer if there is pressure from grain.
NOTE: References to left and right sides of dryer are as seen from rear of dryer (discharge end) unless
otherwise noted. Leave all bolts loose until completion of handrail and guardrail installation.
