Warnings and precautions
1.- Warnings and precautions
Following the launch of the Sunbeam range of dishwashers, this study is designed to
give support to the technicians of the technical assistance service.
This study refers to the fully built-in models, so it provides a basis for knowledge of the
different product ranges, and also helps in analysing or troubleshooting the repair.
A separate document deals specifically with the location of the components and indi-
cates which can be repaired.
Electrical danger: Before carrying out any opera-
tion which requires the control panel to be removed
in order to access any internal component, discon-
nect the dishwasher’s mains cable.
Warning: For a repair to be guaranteed, this techni-
cal study must be referred to during the repair.

Features
2.- Features
Timer delay
This function allows the start of the wash to be delayed, depending on
the model, up to a maximum of 19 hours.
Mix wash
This function reduces the temperature to 50ºC and increases the length of
the wash cycle so that all sorts of objects may be washed without being
damaged by high temperatures. This may only be selected in the normal
program and must be selected before the start-pause key has been pressed.
Selecting this option excludes the plus-dry option.
Half load
This function allows a half-load of dishes to be washed, using only the
upper basket (only the upper spray arm is used). This may be selected
for any program, even when the program is running, provided the pro-
gram has been paused.
Pre-diagnosis of faults
Once a fault has occurred, all the program LEDS will flash (0.5 sec. ON, 0.5 sec.
OFF) and the buzzer will start to beep a number of times depending on the corres-
ponding coded fault (according to the Safeties Table), cyclically (0.5 sec. ON, 0.5 sec.
OFF), where each sequence is followed by 1.5 sec. when it is OFF (silent) until the
door is opened. It will also be possible to ask the program for a pre-diagnosis of the
fault, by pressing the <PROGRAMS> key as many times as the user wishes. Once
the pre-diagnosis has been asked for and given, the buzzer will stay OFF (silent).
As well as beeping to indicate the fault, in the Lux models, the fault will be shown by
the 7 segment displays (according to the Safeties Table). In these models, Electronic
Card Failure will be shown as “F0” (since there are only 2 seven-segment display di-
gits so “F10” cannot be shown), although to all other purposes it is considered as F10,
for example, when this fault occurs, the buzzer will beep 10 times.
In no case must the <ON/OFF> switch be pressed, as it acts as a reset, and all the
information about the fault will be lost.
Important: Depending on the range, optional wash features may be
included. These must be selected after the chosen wash program has
been activated.
Any change of program, even switching the machine off with the main
switch, annuls the wash features which had been selected.

Features
Wash with choice of spray arm
If the keyboard shows these symbols, the dishwasher has the option of alternative
spray arm DISTRIBUTOR-MOTOR.
Press the key to choose to wash only in the upper or lower part, or both.
The corresponding LED pilot light indicates the UPPER/LOWER option selected. If no
LED pilot light is lit, then dishes in both sections will be washed.
This feature replaces the traditional half-load option, allowing the best choice to be
made according to the type of dishes and how dirty they are.
As explained, if none of these wash options are chosen, the two distributor arms spin
alternately.
There is a whole chapter describing how the alternate Motor-distributor works, be-
low.
Express
Only applicable for items in the upper basket.
This option allows “SLIGHTLY DIRTY DISHES” to be washed as items are washed for
approximately 15 minutes, at 40ºC.
To select this option, the express program must first have been selected.
Wash cycle stage display
VERY IMPORTANT: When the dishwasher enters the final stage, it emits a sin-
gle 5 second beep.

Description of all Functions
Program selection
When the dishwasher is turned on at the main (ON/OFF) switch, the last program run
by the user is indicated by the corresponding pilot light (Eco, Standard and Standard
1/2C versions), or is shown in the display (Lux version). It is delivered with the Auto-
matic or Normal programs, never showing the running-in program (It may be reset by
pressing the ON/OFF key when the machine is plugged in).
To select a program, just press the program key until the program to be run is re-
ached. In the version with display it will show: P1, P2, P3, and in the other versions,
the corresponding pilot light will light up.
The wash programs are:
1- Pre-wash
2- Intensive wash
3- Automatic 65º (Normal 65º: in versions Eco, Standard and Standard 1/2 C)
4- Economical
5- Mixed
6- Fast
7- Fast + express key = “EXPRESS” program
The exact composition of the user programs and the special wash programs, for ma-
nufacturing questions, can be seen in the attached Program Table.
In the Lux model, the estimated time for the selected program is shown in the display.
When a program is started, the wash time counts down each minute (at certain steps
in a program, the time is readjusted).
Electronic regulation of salt use according to the hardness of the water: only
for models with a display.
In this range, the salt regulator is electronic, so the usual manual regulator does not
include any type of regulation. Before applying the following instructions for regulating
salt use, the hardness of the water must be known:
French degrees 0-13 HF 14-38 HF 39-50 HF 51-63 HF >64 HF
German degrees 0-7 DH0 8-21DH 22-28 DH 29-35 DH >36 DH

Description of all Functions
The electronic regeneration is carried out, taking into account the level programd in
MEMORY:
L0 (Level 0) = No regeneration is carried out
(Level of hardness Soft: 0÷13 HF or 0-7 DH)
L1 (Level 1) = The first regeneration cycle is carried out every 4 programs
(Normal hardness: 14÷38 HF or 8-21 DH)
L2 (Level 2) = The first regeneration cycle is carried out every 3 programs
(Medium hardness: 39÷50 HF or 22-28 DH)
L3 (Level 3) = The first regeneration cycle is carried out every 2 programs
(Hardness level - hard: 51÷63 HF or 29-35 DH)
L4 (Level 4) = The first regeneration cycle is carried out every program
(Hardness level – very hard: 64÷100 HF or >36 DH)
The product is delivered from the factory with L2 recorded in the memory. The user
may record the level of water hardness in the memory.
To program the hardness level of the water, hold the <DELAY> key pressed for at
least 3 seconds, but only when a wash program is not running. The seven-segment
display shows the last level programd into memory. To increase the value, press the
<DELAY> key repeatedly (don’t hold down, just press), displaying from L0 to L4. To
confirm the level, press the <PROGRAMS> key.

Description of all Functions
Start the wash without a time delay
VERY IMPORTANT: The dishwasher door must be open for all operations for
selecting the start of the wash.
A program is selected by pressing the corresponding key. The program selected will
be indicated by the corresponding pilot LED, and in the case of the Lux range, will
be shown in the display: “P1”, “P2”, “P3”, ... In these Lux models, two seconds after
the last time the Programs Key is pressed, the duration of the program will be shown
in the display. (For example, if P3 has been selected, after 2 seconds the display will
change from “P3” to “1H” / “30” alternating, i.e., the display will show: for 2 seconds
On, then for 0.5 sec. “1H”, then for 0.5 sec. “30”, then for 2 sec. “P3”, then for 0.5
sec. “1H”, then for 0.5 sec. “30”,…).
To see which program has been chosen, press the program key once, at any time.
The door is then shut, and, after approximately 2 seconds, a beep indicates the start
of the program. (If the water temperature is greater than 45º, the beep will not sound
till after 3.5 seconds).
The pilot LED for the program chosen will be on during the whole program until it ends
( when that LED will go out and the “End” LED will come on) or there is a change to
another program. In the case of the Lux range, the end of the program will be shown
on the display, by displaying “00” seconds.
Interrupting the wash
Every time the door is opened, the wash program is interrupted, the time countdown
is stopped, and all jets are turned off. To restart the wash, just close the door.
While the door is open, the current program’s pilot LED will stay on, and in the case
of the LUX models, the display will show, flashing (0.5 sec. ON, 0.5 sec. OFF) “PH”
(to indicate a Pause).
VERY IMPORTANT: If the door is opened during a stage when the water is being
warmed (whether it is washing or paused), the resumption of the wash will take 3.5
minutes (Safety time, according to the Safeties Table), and that is not part of the wash
time countdown.
Changing the wash program
If the program is changed or the option of Half Load Upper/Lower is changed when it
has already started, the program does not restart from the beginning. This means that
the same program step is maintained, or if the same step does not exist in the new
program, it will go to the closest following step that both programs have in common,

Description of all Functions
and from there will follow the sequence of the new program.
The selected program may be changed as often as required, which will cause the pilot
LED for the previous program to go out and the new one to come on. In Lux models,
the wash time will be automatically readjusted when the next time adjustment step is
reached (according to the Program Table).
Also, in the Lux models, if the program has already begun, when the door is opened
to change the program, the display will show “PH” flashing, and if the Program key is
pressed, the display will show the program which was running, e.g. “P3”. If we conti-
nue to press the Program key, the new program will be shown on the display, until 2
seconds after the last time the Program key was pressed, when the display will show
“PH”, flashing.
Program cancellation
To annul a program so that the new one starts from the beginning, turn the dishwas-
her off using the main switch (<ON/OFF>).
Starting a wash with a time delay (Lux version)
Once the program has been selected, as described above in Program selection, the
start of the wash may be delayed by 19 hours.
Press the <DELAY> button, and the time display will show “1H” (1 hour). Press repea-
tedly to increase the time delay, from “1H”, “2H”,… up to “19H”. Pressing again annuls
the delay, and the display will then show the duration of the selected program. This
cycle may be repeated as many times as required.
Once the time delay has been selected, the time will count down from when the door
is closed.
The digits count the time down in hours, while the “H” is flashing.
While the display is showing the time delay, to see the program selected, press the
<ProgramS> key. The selected program will then be displayed for 3 seconds, after
which the remaining time delay will be shown on the display.
The selected program will start once the time delay is over, and the display will then
show the wash time.
Once the delay has been confirmed, the program and options chosen may not be
changed, and the delay cannot be annulled. If one of these changes were required, it
would be necessary to turn the machine off (resetting it), using the main (<ON/OFF>)
switch, and start programming the dishwasher from scratch.
Starting a wash with a time delay (Standard version)
Once the program has been selected, as described above in Program selection, the
start of the wash may be delayed by up to 9 hours.
Press the <DELAY> key, and the LED pilot for 3H delay will light up. Press repeatedly

Description of all Functions
to increase the time delay, from 3H to 6H and 9H, and the corresponding LED pilot will
light up each time. Pressing once more annuls the delay, and the DELAY LEDs turn
off. This cycle may be repeated as many times as required.
Once the time delay has been selected, the time will count down from when the door
is closed.
The corresponding delay LED pilot will flash as it counts down from 9H to 3H (coun-
ting down every 3 hours).
The selected program will start once the time delay is over.
Once the delay has been confirmed, the program and options chosen may not be
changed, and the delay cannot be annulled. If one of these changes were required, it
would be necessary to turn the machine off (resetting it), using the main switch (<ON/
OFF>), and start programming the dishwasher from scratch.
Door open
Opening the door interrupts the wash, and all jets are turned off. The wash time
countdown is also stopped.
When the door is opened, the display (only on the Lux models) will show “PH” flas-
hing, 0.5 sec. ON, 0.5 sec. OFF). If, after 2 min., the door has not been closed, the
alarm will sound, and the display will flash “F1” (0.5 sec. ON, 0.5 sec. OFF) and the
buzzer will sound intermittently (0.5 sec. ON, 1.5 sec. OFF) to indicate “Door Open”
(according to Safeties Table).
For the Delay option, when the door is opened, the countdown stops, and starts again
when the door is closed.
END State
When the End stage is reached, the corresponding pilot LED turns on (in Lux models,
the display shows “00”), and the buzzer beeps once, for 3 seconds.
In the End stage, no water jet is running.
The machine remains in this state until the main switch (<ON/OFF> key) is used to
reset it. This returns the dishwasher to its initial state (Program selection).
Options
Timer delay (depending on Model):
Selected by pressing the corresponding key.
See the sections on Starting a wash with a time delay (Lux version and Standard
versions), for descriptions of how this operates.

Description of all Functions
Upper/Lower:
Press the corresponding key to select these options, and the associated LED pilots
will show the status. The first time it is pressed, the LED for washing the upper basket
lights up (UPPER); the next deactivates that LED and the one for washing the lower
basket lights up (LOWER). The third time the key is pressed, this option is deactiva-
ted, so neither of the two LEDs is lit, and both the upper and lower baskets will be
washed.
This can be selected in any program except EXPRESS UPPER (this program only
washes the upper basket).
Half load:
This is the same as the UPPER/LOWER option, but the only choice is to wash in the
upper basket. The first time the key is pressed, the LED pilot for washing the upper
basket is therefore lit; the next time the key is pressed, this option is annulled, so no
LED pilot is on, and so the contents of both the upper and lower baskets will be was-
hed.
END OF Program
Once the program has ended, the END of program pilot lights up, and it BEEPS
ONCE, FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS CONTINUOUSLY.
Warning: If the mains electrical supply is cut off, when it
comes on again, the dishwasher will continue as normal
from the point where it stopped (there is a memory which
lasts for at least 12 hours, depending on the model.

WHAT IS VENTILATED DRYING?
Some high-range models have what is called ventilated drying. In this, the steam
created in the final rinse of a wash process is expelled by a ventilator, to speed up
drying.
This ventilator has two chambers: aspiration and expulsion (see figure 1, below).
These create a closed circuit between the ventilator, the Air break, and the interior of
the drum.
This steam from the interior of the dishwasher (see figure 2. below) passes through
the steam exit in the upper part, “A”, and is drawn in by the ventilator (aspiration
chamber), “B”, and then passes through part of the Air break, “C”.
Once the steam is in the expulsion chamber, “D”, it is expelled to the interior of the
dishwasher through the steam exit in the lower part “E”.

Description of all Functions
CASE OF MALFUNCTION OR ABNORMAL BEHAVIOUR …For all models
If there is a malfunction or abnormal behaviour, the machine will automatically give an
informative acoustic signal to assist in identifying the origin of the problem.
The acoustic signal will consist of intermittent beeps followed by a break of about 4
seconds. The intermittent beeps and the pause will be repeated again and again.
The number of intermittent beeps will depend on the type of malfunction or abnormal
behaviour.
For example:
1 beep pause for 4” 1 beep pause for 4 seconds …=F1 door open
2 beeps pause for 4” 2 beeps pause for 4 seconds … =F2 fill fault
9 beeps pause for 4” 9 beeps pause for 4 seconds .. =F9 alternate motor fault
...
9 beeps pause for 4” 9 beeps pause for 4 seconds .. =F9 alternate motor fault
There is a reference table on the inside of the door to identify the affected part of the
machine from the beeped error code, as well as the user’s manual.
F2
To stop the machine beeping, open the door or press the Program selector key. The
error code will be stored in memory, so when the Program selector key is pressed
again, the machine will start beeping the corresponding number of times to indicate
the error. i.e., the error code.
This operation may be repeated as many times as required.
For models with a DISPLAY:
For models with display, the acoustic error code will be held in memory, but also, the
display will directly show the code digitally, from F1……..to F9.

The cheaper range, which has no display, indicates that there is a malfunction or ab-
normal behaviour by flashing the program LED pilot lights.
To find out what type of problem there is, follow these steps:
1. Check and identify the type or types of LED pilots which are flashing.
2. Press the program selector key and count the number of beeps. (Each time the key
is pressed, the number of beeps is repeated)
3. Using these two pieces of information, identify the type of fault from the technical
study’s fault table.

If the door opens during the wash, or the door latch does not work, this will be detec-
ted.
If the machine detects that the door is open during the wash cycle, after 2 seconds,
the program will pause in that stage and beep as follows:
1 beep Pause 4” 1 beep pause 4”………and so on.
This means error code F1.
Possible causes:
1. Door not properly closed.
2. Fault in the door micro, whether mechanical or electrical. To check this
analysis it is advisable to bridge it electrically.
3. Faulty installation:
- Faulty cables (cut) from the door micro to the card.
- The cable is incorrectly fitted into the connector, J3 CONTACTS 1 and 9.
Warning: THE DELAY ON RE-STARTING is not a fault, it
is a SAFETY PRECAUTION.
If the door is opened during the wash, cold air enters the dishwasher interior. When
the door is closed again, to prevent this causing abnormal operation, the machine
pauses for a time which depends on the water temperature.
If the water temperature is below 45º, it will pause for 5 seconds.
If the water temperature is equal to or greater than 45º, it will pause for 3.5 seconds.
