Instructions Before Use
Any electrical appliance can be dangerous if used incorrectly.
Some of the safety precautions given in this manual apply
generally to many appliances. Other warnings are specic to
the use of this snow shovel.
General Safety WARNINGS!
You and any other operator of this snow shovel must read,
understand and follow these instructions in their entirety, and
should re-read them at the start of each snow season. Failure
to follow these instructions may result in ELECTRIC SHOCK,
FIRE and/or serious PERSONAL INJURY.
Notice the personal safety alert symbol mused in this
manual to draw your attention to a WARNING given along
with the particular operating instruction. This means that
the operation requires special ATTENTION, CAUTION and
AWARENESS.
1. Replacement parts – When servicing this unit, use only
identical replacement parts. Replace or repair damaged
cords immediately.
Do not use on gravel surfaces unless the snow shovel
is adjusted for such surfaces in accordance with the
operator’s manual.
2. Keep children, bystanders and pets away –
All spectators, including pets, should be kept a safe
distance away from the work area.
3. Dress properly – Do not wear loose articles of clothing or
jewelry. They can become caught in moving parts.
Wear rubber boots.
The electric snow shovel should not be operated in the
hand-held position except when the instructions provided
in this manual deem such use permissible.
4. Extension cords – To prevent disconnection of the
appliance cord from the extension cord during operation,
secure the extension cord to the product as shown in
Figs. 5 & 6.
mWARNING! To prevent electric shock, use only with an
extension cord suitable for outdoor use.
5. Avoid accidental starting – Do not carry the electric
snow shovel with your nger on the switch. Make sure the
switch is o before plugging in the unit.
If the cord is damaged in any manner during operation,
pull the extension cord from the wall receptacle.
6. Do not abuse the cord – Never carry the electric snow
shovel by the cord or yank the cord to disconnect it from
the receptacle. Keep the cord away from heat, oil and
sharp edges.
7. Moving parts – Keep hands and feet away from moving
parts. Keep guards in place and in proper working order.
8. Do not force the tool – It will perform better with less
likelihood of personal or mechanical injury if it is used at
the rate for which it was designed.
9. Do not overreach – Keep proper footing and balance at
all times.
If the electric snow shovel strikes a foreign object,
follow these steps:
• Stop the electric snow shovel.
• Inspect for damage.
• Repair any damage before restarting and
operating the snow shovel.
10. Disconnect the tool – Disconnect the electric snow
shovel from the power supply when it is not in use,
before servicing it, when changing accessories and when
performing any other maintenance task.
11. Store idle tool indoors – When not in use, the electric
snow shovel should be stored indoors in a dry, locked
place out of the reach of children.
12. Maintain the electric snow shovel with care – Follow
the applicable maintenance instructions for replacing parts
and changing accessories. Lubrication is not required.

mThis is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert
you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all
safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid
possible injury or death.
Improperly using or maintaining this electric snow
shovel could result in injury or death. To reduce
this potential, comply with the following safety
instructions.

This electric snow shovel can amputate hands and
feet if used incorrectly. It can also pick up foreign
objects, which can become dangerous projectiles
when thrown into the air. Failure to observe the
following safety instructions could result in serious
personal injury.
Training
• Read, understand and follow all instructions on the machine
and in the manual before operating this unit. Thoroughly
familiarize yourself with the controls and the proper use of
the equipment. Know how to stop the unit and disengage
the controls quickly.
• Children should never be allowed access to the equipment.
Adults should never operate the equipment without
carefully reading and understanding these instructions.
• Keep the area of operation clear of all persons,
particularly small children and pets.
• Exercise caution to avoid slipping or falling.
Preparation
• Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to be
used and remove all doormats, sleds, boards, wires and
other foreign objects.
• Do not operate the equipment without wearing adequate
winter garments. Avoid loose tting articles of clothing and
accessories that can become caught in moving parts. Wear
footwear that will improve footing on slippery surfaces.
• Do not attempt to clear snow from a gravel or crushed rock
surface. This product is intended for use only on paved
surfaces.
• Never attempt to make any adjustments while the motor
is running (except when specically recommended by the
manufacturer).
• Always wear safety glasses or eye shields during operation
or while performing an adjustment or repair to protect your
eyes from foreign objects that may be thrown from the
machine.
Operation
• Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts.
Keep clear of the discharge opening at all times.
• Exercise extreme caution when operating on or crossing
gravel drives, walks or roads. Stay alert for hidden hazards
or trac.
• After striking a foreign object, stop the motor. Thoroughly
inspect the electric snow shovel for any damage, and repair
the damage before restarting and operating the electric
snow shovel.
• If the unit should start to vibrate abnormally, stop the motor
and check the unit immediately to ascertain the cause.
Vibration is generally a sign of trouble.
• Stop the motor and disconnect the electric snow shovel
from the power supply whenever you leave the operating
position, when transporting the unit, before unclogging
the rotor blade housing and when making any repairs,
adjustments or inspections to the unit.
• When cleaning, repairing or inspecting the electric snow
shovel, make sure that all moving parts have come to a
complete stop before beginning work.
• Exercise extreme caution when operating on slopes.
• Never operate the electric snow shovel without proper
guards and other safety devices in place and in proper
working order.
• Never direct the discharge toward people or areas where
property damage can occur. Keep children, pets and other
bystanders away from the work area.
• Do not overload the machine capacity by attempting to
clear snow at too fast a rate.
• Look behind and use care when backing up with the
electric snow shovel.
• Make sure the 2 W LED light is operational when using the
electric snow shovel at night or under conditions of poor
visibility. Always check your footing during operation and
keep a rm hold on the handles. Walk, never run, with the
unit.
Clearing a Clogged Rotor Housing
Hand contact with the rotating rotor blades inside the rotor
housing is the most common cause of injury associated
with electric snow shovels. Never use your hands to clear a
clogged rotor housing.
To clear the rotor housing:
• Shut the motor o and disconnect the unit from the power
supply.
• Wait 10 seconds to be sure the rotor blades have come to a
complete stop.
• Always use a clean-out tool, not your hands, to free the
rotating blades.
Maintenance + Storage
• Check all fasteners at frequent intervals for proper tightness
to ensure that the equipment is in safe working condition.
• Always refer to the operator's manual for important details,
such as how to properly store your electric snow shovel for
an extended period of time.
• Maintain or replace safety and instruction labels as needed.
• Run the machine a few minutes after throwing snow to
prevent the rotor blades from freezing.
Double-Insulated Appliances
In a double-insulated appliance, two systems of insulation
are provided instead of grounding. No grounding means is
provided on a double-insulated appliance, nor should a means
for grounding be added to the appliance. Servicing a double-
insulated appliance requires extreme care and knowledge of
the system, and should be performed only by qualied service
personnel at an authorized Snow Joe®+ Sun Joe®dealer.
Replacement parts for a double-insulated appliance must be
identical to the parts they replace. A double-insulated

appliance is marked with the words “Double Insulation” or
“Double Insulated.” The symbol (square within a square)
may also be marked on the appliance.

REQUIRED. WHEN SERVICING, USE ONLY
IDENTICAL REPLACEMENT PARTS.
This electric snow shovel is double-insulated, eliminating the
need for a separate grounding system. Use only identical
replacement parts. Read the instructions before servicing
double-insulated appliances. Use this snow shovel only as
described in this manual.
Electrical Safety
1. Ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protection should
be provided on the circuit(s) or outlet(s) to be used for
this electric snow shovel. Receptacles are available having
built-in GFCI protection and may be used for this
measure of safety.
2. To prevent electric shock, use only with an extension cord
suitable for outdoor use, such as SW-A, SOW-A, STW-A,
STOW-A, SJW-A, SJOW-A, SJTW-A, or SJTOW-A.
Before use, check that the extension cord is in good
condition. When using an extension cord, make sure to
use one heavy enough to carry the current your product
will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line
voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating.
3. To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has a
polarized plug (i.e. one blade is wider than the other).
Use this appliance only with a polarized UL-, CSA-, or
ETL-listed extension cord recommended for outdoor,
all-weather use. The appliance plug will t into a polarized
extension cord only one way. If the appliance plug does
not t fully into the extension cord, reverse the plug. If the
plug still does not t, obtain a correct polarized extension
cord. A polarized extension cord will require the use of a
polarized wall outlet. The extension cord plug will t into
the polarized wall outlet only one way. If the plug does
not t fully into the wall outlet, reverse the plug. If the plug
still does not t, contact a qualied electrician to install
the proper wall outlet. Do not modify the appliance plug,
extension cord receptacle, or extension cord plug in any
way.
4. To prevent the appliance cord from disconnecting from the
extension cord during operation, make a knot with the two
cords as shown in Table 1.
5. Do not abuse the cord. Never pull the snow shovel by the
cord or yank the cord to disconnect it from the receptacle.
Keep the cord away from heat, oil, and sharp edges.

Electric shock may cause SEVERE INJURY or
DEATH. Heed these warnings:
• Do not allow any part of the electric snow shovel to
make contact with water while it is in operation. If the
appliance becomes wet while turned o, wipe dry
before starting.
• Use only a UL-, CSA- or ETL-rated extension cord for
outdoor, all-weather use.
• Do not use an extension cord over 100 ft (30 m).
• Do not touch the appliance or its plug with wet hands
or while standing in water. Wearing rubber boots
oers some protection.

1. Carefully remove the electric snow shovel and check to
see that all of the above items are supplied.
2. Inspect the product carefully to make sure no breakage or
damage occurred during shipping. If you nd damaged or
missing parts, DO NOT return the unit to the store.

center at 1-866-SNOWJOE (1-866-766-9563).
NOTE: Do not discard the shipping carton and packaging
material until you are ready to use your new electric snow
shovel. The packaging is made of recyclable materials.
Properly dispose of these materials in accordance with
local regulations.
IMPORTANT! The equipment and packaging material are
not toys. Do not let children play with plastic bags,
foils or small parts. These items can be swallowed and pose a
suocation risk!
Assembly
Connecting the Upper + Lower Tubes
1. Fit the upper and lower tubes together and tighten the
joint-xing knob (Fig. 1).
Positioning the Adjustable Handle
1. Move and rotate the adjustable handle to a comfortable
working position (Fig. 2).
2. Tighten the handle knob (Fig. 2).
Operation
IMPORTANT: This electric snow shovel is intended for
outdoor, residential use only. Do not use this appliance indoors
or for commercial or industrial purposes.
Connecting to a Power Source
To reduce the risk of electric shock, this appliance has
a polarized plug (i.e. one blade is wider than the other;
see Fig. 3).
Use this appliance only with a polarized UL-, CSA- or ETL-
listed extension cord recommended for outdoor, all-weather
use.

The appliance plug will t into a polarized extension cord only
one way. If the appliance plug does not t fully into the
extension cord, reverse the plug. If the plug still does not
t, obtain a correct polarized extension cord. A polarized
extension cord will require the use of a polarized wall outlet.
The extension cord plug will t into the polarized wall outlet
only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the wall outlet,
reverse the plug. If the plug still does not t, contact a qualied
electrician to install the proper wall outlet. Do not modify the
appliance plug, extension cord receptacle or extension cord
plug in any way.
IMPORTANT: Check the extension cord frequently during
use for holes or cracks in the insulation. Do not use a
damaged cord. Do not run the cord through standing water
or wet grass.
Use only an extension cord recommended for outdoor use.
Securing the Extension Cord
1. Make a loop with the extension cord (Fig. 4).
2. Insert the loop through the opening in the back of the
upper handle and secure the loop onto the extension
cord hook (Fig. 5).
3. Connect the extension cord to the appliance cord.
NOTE: Securing the extension cord in this way helps to
prevent you from accidentally disconnecting the extension
cord from the appliance during operation.
4. Plug the extension cord into a wall outlet.
5. Keep the area to be cleared free of stones, toys or other
foreign objects that the rotor blades might pick up and
throw. Such items could be covered by snow and are easy
to overlook, so be sure to conduct a thorough inspection
of the area before beginning work.
Starting + Stopping
1. To start the electric snow shovel, push and hold the safety
lock button on the top of the handle grip with your thumb
and then squeeze the trigger switch with your ngers.
Once the machine powers on, you can release the safety
lock button and proceed with operation (Fig. 6).
2. To stop the electric snow shovel, release the trigger switch
(Fig. 6).
Operating Tips
• Start the electric snow shovel and tilt it forward until the
scraper blade at the base of the unit contacts the ground.
Push the shovel forward at a comfortable rate, yet slow
enough to clear the path completely. The clearing width of
the snow shovel and the depth of snowfall should dictate
your forward speed.
• Direct the snow discharge to the right or to the left by
holding the electric snow shovel at a slight angle.
• To remove snow most eciently, throw the snow
downwind and slightly overlap each swath.
• If you need to clear snow from a crushed rock or gravel
surface, push down on the handle to clear the scraper of
any loose material that the rotor blades could throw.
• This electric snow shovel cuts a path 11 in. (28 cm) wide
and up to 6 in. (15 cm) deep in one pass.

• When clearing deeper drifts, hold the electric snow shovel
by the upper and lower handles and use a swinging or
sweeping motion. Remove up to 6 in. (15 cm) of snow with
each pass and repeat as many times as needed.
• Keep the cord clear of obstructions, sharp objects and the
rotating auger. Do not pull sharply on the cord or abuse
it in any manner. Frequently inspect the cord for signs of
damage. If damage is found, replace the cord immediately.
• This electric snow shovel is equipped with a 2 W LED light
to faciliate clearing at night and under conditions of poor
visibility (Fig. 7). When you start the machine, the LED
light will automatically power on and illuminate the path in
front of you. When you stop the machine, the LED light will
automatically power o.
• Disconnect the extension cord after using the electric
snow shovel. Hang the extension cord with the shovel
so it will not be misplaced or damaged.

mWARNING! Disconnect the extension cord before
performing any maintenance task.
If the extension cord is plugged into the appliance, someone
could accidentally turn on the unit while you are performing
maintenance on it, which could result in serious personal injury.
Replacing the Auger
mWARNING! Disconnect the power supply to the electric
snow shovel before beginning work.
1. Use a wrench to remove the bolt and the washer on the
right side of the housing (Fig. 8).
2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, disassemble the left side
cover by removing the seven (7) screws (Fig. 9).
3. Remove the tensioner. Unscrew the three (3) screws
securing the big pulley plate, then remove the plate and
pulley assembly (Fig. 10).

4. Remove the old paddle auger from the housing (Fig. 11).
5. To install the new paddle auger, place the washer (A) back
onto the bolt (removed in step 1) and insert the bolt so that
it protrudes slightly into the housing of the unit. Thread the
nut and then the other washer (B) onto the bolt. Fit the new
auger onto the end of bolt and tighten the bolt (Fig. 12).
6. Reinstall the big pulley plate (Fig. 10) and align it with the
other end of the auger. After tting the auger into position,
secure the big pulley plate with the three (3) screws
(Fig. 13).
NOTE: The housing will ex to allow for installation of the
new paddle auger.
7. Place the tensioner back into position. Rotate the auger to
ensure that the belt and auger move freely, then reinstall
the cover by securing it with the seven (7) screws
(Figs. 14 & 15).
mWARNING! Do not power the unit until the cover guard
is securely in place to prevent damage or injury.
Replacing the Belt
mWARNING! Disconnect the power from the electric
snow shovel before performing these tasks.
1. Disassemble the left side cover by removing the seven (7)
screws (Fig. 9).
2. Remove the tensioner (Fig. 16).
3. Unscrew the three (3) screws from the big pulley plate and
the four (4) screws from the small pulley plate (Fig.16).
4. Replace the worn belt with a new belt.

5. Screw the big and small pulley plates back into position,
then reinstall the tensioner.
6. Place the left side cover back into position and refasten
the seven (7) screws.
Replacing the Scraper Blade
mWARNING! Disconnect the power from the electric
snow shovel before performing this task.
1. Position the auger so that you can gain access to the
three (3) Phillips head screws that secure the scraper
blade to the base of the unit.
2. Using a long Phillips head screwdriver, remove the
three (3) screws and the old scraper blade (Fig. 17).
3. Install the new scraper blade and fasten it securely to the
snow shovel with the three (3) screws.
Lubricating the Electric Snow Shovel
This electric snow shovel does NOT need lubrication. All
bearings are lubricated at the factory for the life of the product.
Storage
1. Examine the electric snow shovel thoroughly for worn,
loose or damaged parts. Should you need to repair or
replace a part, contact an authorized Snow Joe®+
Sun Joe®dealer or call the Snow Joe®+ Sun Joe®
customer service center at 1-866-SNOWJOE
(1-866-766-9563) for assistance.
2. Examine the extension cord thoroughly for signs of excess
wear or damage. If it is worn or damaged, replace it
immediately.
3. Disconnect the extension cord from the electric snow
shovel before storing.
4. Store the cord with the electric snow shovel indoors in a
clean, dry and locked location out of the reach of children
and animals.
NOTE: Devices for retaining extension cords are
commercially available, should you wish to purchase one.
5. For added protection against snow, ice, sun damage, rain,
dust, tree sap and birds, cover your electric snow shovel

¡ADVERTENCIAS generales de
seguridad!
Usted y cualquier otro operador de esta pala quitanieve
deberá leer, entender y seguir estas instrucciones en su
totalidad, y debe volver a leerlas al inicio de cada temporada
de nieve. El no seguir cualquiera de estas instrucciones puede
causar un CHOQUE ELÉCTRICO, INCENDIO y/o DAÑOS
PERSONALES severos.
Preste atención al símbolo de alerta de seguridad

atención a una ADVERTENCIA dada junto a una instruc-

1. Piezas de repuesto: al repararla, utilice solamente piezas
de repuesto idénticas. Reemplace o repare los cables
dañados inmediatamente.
No la use en supercies de grava a menos que la pala
quitanieve esté modicada para dichas supercies,
de acuerdo al manual del operador.
2. Mantenga alejados a los espectadores, niños y
mascotas: todos los espectadores, incluidos niños y
mascotas, deberán estar a una distancia segura del área
de trabajo.
3. Vístase apropiadamente: no utilice prendas holgadas ni
joyería. Pueden engancharse en las partes móviles.
Use botas de goma.
La pala quitanieve no debe operarse siendo sostenida con
la mano excepto cuando las instrucciones proporcionadas
en este manual así lo permitan.
4. Cables de extensión: para evitar la desconexión de
un cable de artefacto del cable de extensión durante la
operación, conecte el cable de extensión al producto tal
como se muestra en las Figs.5 y 6.
m ¡ADVERTENCIA! Para prevenir choques eléctricos,
úselo solo con un cable de extensión adecuado para uso
en exteriores.
5. Evite los encendidos accidentales: no transporte la
pala quitanieve eléctrica con su dedo sobre el interruptor.
Asegúrese de que el interruptor esté apagado antes de
enchufar la unidad.
Si el cable está dañado de cualquier forma durante
la operación, desenchufe el cable de extensión del
tomacorriente de pared.
6. No abuse del cable: nunca jale la pala quitanieve
eléctrica por el cable ni tire bruscamente de éste para
desenchufar la pala quitanieve eléctrica del receptáculo.
Mantenga el cable alejado del calor, aceite y bordes
losos.
7. Partes móviles: mantenga alejados pies y manos de las
partes móviles. Mantenga los protectores en su lugar y
funcionando apropiadamente.
8. No fuerce la herramienta: tendrá un mejor
funcionamiento con menos probabilidades de lesiones
personales o fallas mecánicas si es usada a la velocidad
para la cual fue diseñada.
9. No se sobreextienda: mantenga con sus pies balance y
posición adecuados durante todo el tiempo.
Si la pala quitanieve eléctrica golpea un objeto extraño,
siga los siguientes pasos:
• Detenga la pala quitanieve eléctrica.
• Inspecciónela para ver si existen daños.
• Repare cualquier daño antes de volver a encender y
operar la pala quitanieve eléctrica.
10. Desconecte la pala quitanieve eléctrica: desconecte
la pala quitanieve eléctrica de la fuente de alimentación
cuando no esté siendo usada, antes de repararla,
al cambiarle accesorios y al realizar cualquier otra tarea de
mantenimiento en ésta.
11. Guarde la herramienta inactiva en interiores: cuando
no esté siendo usada, la pala quitanieve eléctrica deberá
guardarse bajo techo, en un lugar seco, bajo llave, y lejos
del alcance de los niños.
12. Cuide la pala quitanieve eléctrica: siga las instrucciones
aplicables de mantenimiento para el reemplazo de partes

arrancar el motor.

Es usado para alertarle de potenciales peligros de
lesiones personales. Obedezca todos los mensajes
de seguridad que siguen a este símbolo para evitar
posibles lesiones o la muerte.
El uso o mantenimiento incorrecto de esta pala
quitanieve puede resultar en lesiones o muerte.
Para reducir este riesgo, obedezca las siguientes
instrucciones de seguridad.
Esta pala quitanieve eléctrica puede amputar manos
y pies si no se usa correctamente. Puede también
recoger objetos extraños que pueden convertirse en
proyectiles peligrosos al ser lanzados al aire.
El no seguir las siguientes instrucciones de seguridad
podría causar lesiones personales graves.
Capacitación
• Lea, entienda y siga todas las instrucciones en la máquina
y en el manual antes de operar esta unidad. Familiarícese
a fondo con los controles y el uso correcto del equipo.
Sepa cómo detener la unidad y desactivar los controles
rápidamente.
• Los niños nunca deben tener acceso a la unidad.
Los adultos nunca deben operar la unidad sin leer y
entender cuidadosamente estas instrucciones.
• Mantenga el área de operación libre de personas,
particularmente niños pequeños y mascotas.
• Tenga cuidado y evite resbalar o caer.
Preparación
• Inspeccione cuidadosamente el área donde el equipo
será utilizado y retire todos los felpudos, trineos, tablas,
alambres y demás objetos extraños.
• No opere el equipo sin emplear vestimenta de invierno
adecuada. Evite usar prendas de vestir holgadas y
accesorios que puedan engancharse en las piezas
móviles. Utilice calzado que mejorará su posición de pie en
supercies resbaladizas.
• No intente retirar nieve de una supercie de grava o de roca
triturada. Este producto está destinado solo para su uso en
supercies pavimentadas.
• Nunca intente realizar ningún ajuste mientras el motor
esté funcionando (excepto cuando sea especícamente
recomendado por el fabricante).
• Use siempre gafas de seguridad o protección ocular
durante la operación, o mientras realice cualquier ajuste o
reparación, para proteger sus ojos de objetos extraños que
puedan ser lanzados por la máquina.
Operación
• No ponga sus manos o pies cerca o debajo de las partes
giratorias. Manténgase alejado de la apertura de descarga
en todo momento.
• Tenga mucho cuidado al operar sobre o cruzando senderos
de grava, aceras o caminos. Manténgase alerta ante
peligros ocultos o tráco.
• Después de golpear un objeto extraño, detenga el motor,
inspeccione detenidamente la pala quitanieve eléctrica en
busca de cualquier daño, y repare el daño antes de reiniciar
y operar la pala quitanieve eléctrica.
• Si la unidad empieza a vibrar de manera anormal, detenga
el motor y verique la unidad inmediatamente para
determinar la causa. Las vibraciones generalmente son
señales de problemas.
• Detenga el motor y desconecte la pala quitanieve eléctrica
de la fuente de alimentación siempre que usted vaya a dejar
su posición de operador, antes de desatascar la carcasa de
las palas del rotor y al llevar a cabo cualquier reparación,
ajuste o inspección a la unidad.
• Al limpiar, reparar o inspeccionar la pala quitanieve
eléctrica, asegúrese de que todas las partes móviles se
hayan detenido por completo antes de empezar a trabajar.
• Tenga mucho cuidado al operar en pendientes.
• Nunca opere la pala quitanieve eléctrica sin protectores y
otros dispositivos de seguridad adecuados instalados y
funcionando correctamente.
• Nunca dirija la descarga hacia la gente o hacia áreas donde
puedan ocurrir daños materiales. Mantenga a los niños,
mascotas y otros espectadores lejos del área de trabajo.
• No sobrecargue la capacidad de la máquina intentando
retirar la nieve a una velocidad demasiado rápida.
• Mire hacia atrás y tenga cuidado al retroceder con la pala
quitanieve eléctrica.
• Asegúrese de que la luz LED de 2 W esté operativa al usar
la pala quitanieve eléctrica durante la noche o durante
condiciones de poca visibilidad. Siempre fíjese dónde está
pisando durante la operación y mantenga los mangos
sujetados rmemente. Camine, nunca corra, con la unidad.
Despeje de la carcasa de rotor atascada
El contacto de la mano con las palas giratorias del rotor dentro
de la carcasa del rotor es la causa más usual de lesiones
asociadas con palas quitanieve eléctricas. Nunca use sus
manos para despejar la carcasa del rotor atascada.
Para despejar la carcasa del rotor:
• Apague el motor y desenchufe la unidad de la fuente de
alimentación.
• Espere 10 segundos para asegurarse de que las palas del
rotor se hayan detenido por completo.

• Use siempre una herramienta de limpieza, NUNCA SUS
MANOS, para liberar las palas giratorias.
Mantenimiento y almacenamiento
• Verique frecuentemente todos los sujetadores para
comprobar un ajuste correcto y asegurarse de que el
equipo esté en condiciones de trabajo seguras.
• Consulte siempre el manual del operador para información
importante, tal como el almacenamiento correcto de su
pala quitanieve eléctrica por un periodo prolongado.
• Mantenga o reemplace las etiquetas de seguridad y de
instrucciones según sea necesario.
• Luego de quitar nieve, haga funcionar la máquina por
unos cuantos minutos para evitar que las palas del rotor
se congelen.
Artefactos de doble aislamiento
En un artefacto de doble aislamiento, se proporcionan dos
sistemas de aislamiento en lugar de una conexión a tierra.
Un artefacto de doble aislamiento no posee conexión a tierra,
y no debe agregársele ninguna. La reparación de un artefacto
de doble aislamiento requiere sumo cuidado y conocimiento
del sistema, y solo debe ser realizado por personal técnico
calicado en un centro de servicio autorizado por Snow Joe®
+ Sun Joe®. Las partes de reemplazo de un artefacto de
doble aislamiento deben ser idénticas a las partes originales.
Un artefacto de doble aislamiento está marcado con las
frases “Double Insulation” (“doblemente aislado”) o “Double
Insulated” (“aislamiento doble”). El símbolo (un cuadrado
dentro de otro) puede también estar marcado en el artefacto.
DOBLE AISLAMIENTO: PUESTA A TIERRA NO
REQUERIDA. AL REPARAR, USE SOLO
PIEZAS DE REPUESTO IDÉNTICAS.
Esta pala quitanieve eléctrica tiene doble aislamiento y elimina
la necesidad de un sistema separado de conexión a tierra.
Use solo piezas de repuesto idénticas. Lea las instrucciones
antes de reparar artefactos de doble aislamiento. Use esta
pala quitanieve solo como se describe en este manual.
Seguridad eléctrica
1. Un interruptor de circuito de falla de conexión a
tierra (GFCI) deberá proteger al(a los) circuito(s) o
tomacorriente(s) a ser utilizado(s) con la pala quitanieve
eléctrica. Existen receptáculos disponibles con protección
incorporada GFCI y pueden ser utilizados para esta
medida de seguridad.
2. Para evitar un choque eléctrico, use solo cables de
extensión adecuados para uso en exteriores, tales como
SW-A, SOW-A, STW-A, STOW-A, SJW-A, SJOW-A,
SJTW-A, ó SJTOW-A.
Antes del uso, verique que el cable de extensión esté
en buenas condiciones. Al usar un cable de extensión,
asegúrese de usar uno lo sucientemente fuerte para
poder transportar toda la electricidad que su producto
usará. Un cable de extensión demasiado no causará
una caída de tensión en la línea produciendo pérdida de
potencia y recalentamiento.
3. Para reducir el riesgo de un choque eléctrico,
este artefacto posee un enchufe polarizado (es decir,
una pata es más ancha que la otra). Use este artefacto
solo con un cable de extensión polarizado y aprobado por
UL, CSA o ETL, recomendado para uso en exteriores y
todo tipo de clima. El enchufe del artefacto encajará en el
receptáculo del cable de extensión polarizado de una sola
manera. Si el enchufe del artefacto no entra por completo
dentro del receptáculo del cable de extensión, invierta
las clavijas del enchufe. Si el enchufe aún no encaja
dentro del receptáculo del cable de extensión, obtenga
un cable de extensión polarizado correcto. Un cable de
extensión polarizado requerirá el uso de un tomacorriente
polarizado. El enchufe del cable de extensión encajará
en el tomacorriente polarizado de la pared de una sola
manera. Si el enchufe no entra por completo dentro del
tomacorriente de la pared, invierta las clavijas del enchufe.
Si el enchufe aún no encaja dentro del tomacorriente
de pared, contacte a un electricista calicado para la
instalación de un tomacorriente de pared apropiado.
No modique el enchufe del artefacto, ni el receptáculo
del cable de extensión ni el enchufe del cable de
extensión en ninguna forma.
mADVERTENCIA m
Un choque eléctrico puede causar LESIONES
PERSONALES SEVERAS o LA MUERTE. Tenga en
cuenta estas advertencias:
• No deje que ninguna parte de la pala quitanieve
eléctrica haga contacto con el agua mientras esté
funcionando. Si el artefacto se moja mientras está
apagado, séquelo antes de encenderlo.
• Use solo un cable de extensión aprobado por UL,
CSA o ETL para uso en exteriores y todo tipo de
clima.
• No use un cable de extensión de más de 100 pies
(30 m).
• No toque el artefacto o su enchufe con las manos
húmedas o mientras esté parado sobre agua. Usar
botas de hule le dará algo de protección.

4. Para evitar que el cable del artefacto se desconecte del
cable de extensión al usarlo haga un nudo con los dos
cables tal como se muestra en la Tabla 1.
5. No maltrate el cable. Nunca jale la pala quitanieve por
su cable, ni tire de éste para desconectarla del enchufe.
Mantenga el cable alejado del calor, aceite y bordes
losos.
