DISPOSAL AND RECYCLING INFORMATION
When this product reaches the end of its life, please take
it to an approved collection or recycling point designated
by your local or state government. This product is
manufactured using a variety of materials, Your product
should not be disposed of as ordinary household waste.
You should dispose of your system properly, according to
local laws and regulations. Most materials that are used
in the construction of this product are fully recyclable.
The separate collection and recycling of your product at
the time of disposal will help conserve natural resources
and ensure that it is disposed in a manner that protects
the environment.
Ensure you are the legal owner of the product prior to
arranging for the product disposal in accordance with the

WARNING
This device can be affected by Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency
Interference (RFI).
-Radio wave sources, such as radio stations, TV stations, amateur radio (HAM) transmitters, two-way
radios, and
cellular phones can affect powered control.

If unintended movement or brake release occurs, turn the power wheelchair OFF and do not
operate until inspected, repaired, and/or replaced.

If the power wheelchair acts in an erratic manner, turn the power wheelchair OFF and do not
operate until inspected, repaired, and/or replaced.

If the joystick stem is damaged, it can cause the power wheelchair to operate erratically, turn the
power wheelchair OFF and do not operate until inspected, repaired, and/or replaced.

If any of the device cabling becomes frayed, cut, or disconnected in any way, t
urn the power OFF
and do not operate until inspected, repaired, and/or replaced.

The Switch-It DriveStation is an ergonomic handheld proportional
device (PS2 controller) adapted for use as an alternative drive
control. Ideal for use by pediatric patients, the DRIVESTATION
allows clients already accustomed to operating game
controllers easy control of their power wheelchair.

Switch-It DriveStation users may choose between five different
programs which allow access to seat functions. The default
program (item DS-0) allows for seat function access through the
drive control and power wheelchair programming, the same as
with a standard joystick and only an Omni or Enhanced Display
is required.
Alternatively, the Action Pad (Triangle, Square, Circle and X) or
Direction Pads can be programmed for dedicated seat
functions. There are four standard configurations for this and the
DriveStation is configured with four monoplug outputs for the
dedicated function access and additional equipment is
required:

E. Key Features:
The Switch-It DriveStation allows both proportional and
switched driving. The joystick knobs may be used for
proportional control, while the action and/or directional
pad buttons can be used for switched driving control.
When using the joystick knobs/thumbsticks for driving,
both knobs may be used, however the right knob/
thumbstick is dominant.
The off button is integrated into the controller, Figure 1.
This button only powers off the controller, it does not
turn off the power wheelchair.
Mode and seating functions are accessed through the
left and right trigger buttons on the front of the
controller, Figure 2.
The Switch-It DriveStation users may choose between
five different programs which allow access to seat
functions. The default program (item DS-0) allows for
seat function access through the drive control and
power wheelchair programming, the same as with a
standard joystick. Alternatively, the Action Pad
(Triangle, Square, Circle and X) or Direction Pads,
Figure 1, can be programmed for dedicated seat
functions. There are four standard configurations for this:
• DS-1: Direction Pad for seat functions, L1 & R1
buttons for mode.
• DS-2: Direction Pads for seat functions, all front
buttons disabled.
• DS-3: Action Pad for seat functions, L1 & R1
buttons for mode.
• DS-4: Action Pad for seat functions, all front
buttons disabled.
F. Troubleshooting:
Issue: Joystick thumbsticks do not return to center.
Common Reason: Joystick knobs are damaged.
Solution: Call for RMA.
Call Sunrise Technical Support at 1.800.333.4000 for
further assistance.

WARRANTY

All
electronic components are covered under warranty for twelve (12) months from the date
of shipment, provided normal use, unless modified or damaged.

mounting hardware is covered under warranty for twelve (12) months from the date of
shipment, provided normal use, unless modified or damaged

All wearable items (covers, pads, etc.) are covered under warranty for three (3) months from
the date of shipment, provided normal use, unless modified or damaged.
Each Switch-It device is carefully inspected and tested to provide peak performance. Every
Switch-It device is covered under a limited, express warranty.
Warranty claims should be processed through the nearest authorized supplier or dealer. A Return
Authorization number must be obtained prior to returning the item for evaluation, along with
details of the issue.
Items returned for warranty claim must be evaluated by Switch-It before warranty determination is
made. Should a defect in materials or workmanship occur during the warranty period, and the
item has not been modified or damaged, Switch-It will, at its option, rework or replace it without
charge.
Except for express warranties made herein, all other warranties, including implied warranties of
merchantability and warranties of fitness for a particular purpose are excluded. There is no implied
warranty beyond what is contained herein. Remedies for breach of express warranties herein are
limited to rework or replacement of the goods. In no event shall damages for breach of any
warranty include any consequential damages or exceed the cost of non-conforming goods sold.
