quired, hould familiarize them elve with the capabilitie of thi
generator and the precaution outlined in thi manual.

5. Avoid fu l spillag .
6. Do not us any oth r fu l xc pt gasolin (or as sp cifi d by th
ngin manufactur r).
7. Do not op rat th g n rator n ar flammabl products.
8. Do not op rat th g n rator in ar as with poor v ntilation. Th
xhaust fum s contain carbon monoxid , a poisonous, odorl ss,
invisibl gas. Prolong d xposur can l ad to unconsciousn ss and
d ath.
9. Do not conn ct th g n rator to a comm rcial pow r lin .
10. Do not op rat any g n rator with missing or brok n parts. Con-
tact your d al r for r plac m nt parts.
11. Th g n rator should b ground d in damp or highly conductiv
conditions.
12. Do not op rat with damag d or d f ctiv xt nsion cords, or
pow r cords. N v r op rat any l ctrical quipm nt with damag d
or d f ctiv cords.
13. Always ch ck th ngin oil l v l b for starting. Fill as n c ssary

Starting Operation
1. Locat th g n rator on flat t rrain, away from wat r hazards and/or
flammabl liquids. Ch ck all l ctrical cords for crack d or xpos d
wir s. R plac if n c ssary.
2. Follow th ngin starting proc dur s contain d in th Honda Engin
Own rs Manual. Onc start d, allow th ngin to r ach op rational
t mp ratur for a f w minut s without applying load on th alt rnator.
3. Mak sur that th applianc is switch d off b for conn cting it to
th g n rator. Do not mov th g n rator whil it is running.
4. B sur to ground th g n rator if th conn ct d applianc is
ground d. Failure to ground the generator may lead to electrical
hock.
5. If th g n rator is ov rload d, or short-circuit d, a br ak r switch is
automatically tripp d, pr v nting l ctrical curr nt from b ing suppli d
to th applianc . Ch ck th applianc to nsur that th start-up watt-
ag r quir m nts do s not xc d th capacity of th g n rator. Pr ss
th r s t button.
Shutdown Procedure
1. Turn off th pow r switch of th l ctrical applianc and disconn ct
from th g n rator.
2. Allow th ngin to cool down for approximat ly 3 minut s at no
load.
3. R f r to th Honda Engin Own r's Manual for ngin shutdown pro-
c dur s.
4. R mov any mud, dirt or cond nsation from th g n rator. Stor in a
dry plac .
