COOKING TIPS
• For best results, lightly coat the cooking plates with a little cooking oil or cooking
spray.
• Keep the plates closed when preheating.
• In SMART mode ,after the preheating is done, if you do not lift up the upper plate
to put in food, the appliance will switch itself off automatically after a few minutes.
• In manual (M) mode, the appliance has no detection function so it will keep
running for about two hours till the appliance turns off automatically.
• When the food is cooked, use the handle to open the lid. Remove the food with
a plastic heat-resistant spatula. Never use metal tongs or a knife as these can
cause damage to the non-stick coating of the cooking plates.
• There is a BEEP sound for “RARE” and “MEDIUM” only when you use beef function.
And for other functions, there only is beep sound for “WELL DONE”.
• Smart mode is only available when the appliance cover is closed.
• Smart mode as a warning sound to remind you to put food on the appliance once
preheating is finished. If you don’t, the warning sound will remind after 5 minutes,
again after 2 min. Then auto power-off.
• The whole machine will power off after 2 hours. This is an energy saving feature.
To restart, simply press the power button.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Before cleaning, disconnect the grill and let it cool down completely. Note: The grill is stays
hot for a long time after powering down!
1. Press the release buttons and take out the cooking plates.
2. The plates can be washed in warm soapy water (yes you can immerse them). Dry the
completely before returning them to the grill.
3. Remove the upper and lower drip trays with gloves, empty the drip tray into a heat-proof
bowl, rinse them in warm soapy water or in the top rack of the dishwasher and then dry
them thoroughly.
4. Note: before removing the drip trays, make sure the oil residues are properly cooled
down or it poses a burn hazard!
5. Wipe other surfaces of the grill with a clean damp cloth. Use a paper towel moistened
with a little cooking oil to remove the stubborn stains.
6. Reassemble the plates and trays to the grill.
7. Do not immerse the appliance into water or other liquid. Do not use harsh or abrasive
cleanser or solvent. Never use scourers, wire wool or soap pads.
8. Make sure the grill is clean and dry before storing.
9. The grill should be stored closed and in flat position. It can’t be stored upright.
We don’t recommend putting the cooking plates in the dishwasher as it can reduce the
life of the non-stick coating considerably.
