Inserting the battery
Before proceeding with these steps, make sure that your mobile phone is turned off.
1. Insert the battery into the battery compartment. See the following image:

1. Remove the back cover.
2. Lift out the battery from the notch as per the following image:

3. Insert the SIM card into the SIM card slot with the SIM card gold contacts facing down.

Phone Basics
Basic phone operations.
This section shows the basics phone features.
Making a call
Make sure that your phone is unlocked, otherwise press the Unlock key
1. Type a phone number or a go to Contacts and search for contact name
2. Press the Call key.
3. To end your call, press the Cancel key.
Setting up a conference call
You can easily set up a conference call with your family, friends, co-workers. Call the first
participant and then join calls together as described in the following procedure.
Before starting, make sure that your SIM card is enabled for conference calls service.
1. Call the first participant. See Making a call on page 8
2. During the call, press key to add a participant. In this way the first participant in put on
hold.
3. Type the participant phone number or search for in contacts.
4. Press the key.
5. To join also the first contact to the conference call, press the key again.
6. To join other contact to the conference, repeat steps 2 - 5.
Adjusting the volume
You can adjust the volume level of your ring tone
• Press the Volume UP key on the left side of your phone from the keyboard, to increase the
volume.
• Press the Volume DOWN key on the left side of your phone from the keyboard, to decrease
the volume.
• If you press Volume UP/Volume UP button during a call, the volume for phone conversation
is adjusted.

Locking and unlocking your phone
You can lock the keyboard of your phone to avoid pressing keys or call accidentally.
1. To lock your phone, press the Lock key with this icon .
2. To unlock the keyboard, press the Lock key again.

Phone Setup
Basic phone setup.
E-mail
Setting up your e-mail account.
In this section you find out how to set up an e-mail account.
Setting up an e-mail address
You can use the Mail application to set up your email and other POP3 or IMAP email accounts.
From the home menu, select Messaging -> Options -> Settings -> Email -> Mailboxes and add a
new mailbox. Then follow the wizard which walks you through the process. First choose Start
to begin the process described below:
1. Choose one of the options: If this is the first time your are setting up an e-mail account,
select POP3/IMAP. If you have already added an email account, select New account and
then select POP3/IMAP.
2. Type your email address and password and then press Next.
3. Enter your incoming mail server then choose Next
4. Insert your name and the account name. Give this mailbox a name. Make it meaningful, for
example ‘Gmail email’ if your email provider is Gmail. When this details have been entered,
choose Done and the following notification is displayed: ‘Setup complete. Settings can be
edited in e-mail settings section’. Click OK.
5. After you have received this confirmation message, you can view and manage your email
messages, from the home menu, select the Messages icon.
Composing and sending email messages
1. On the home screen, click the Messages icon.
2. Press Compose Email key.
3. In the To field, fill in one or more recipients. typing an email address or a contact name.
You can enter more than one email addresses separated by comma. As you enter email
addresses, any matching addresses from your contacts list are displayed. You can also type
as recipients a contact name or contact groups.
4. Select the Show Cc/Bcc icon if you want to fill in the Cc or a Bcc fields.
5. Enter the subject, and then compose your message.
6. To send the message, press the Send key.

Deleting one or more email messages
• To delete a message, select it and then press the Delete key.
• To delete more messages, select them by pressing and holding the Shift key. Then Release
the Shift key and select Delete Messages.
• To delete a saved message, select Menu -> Saved Messages. Select the message you would
like to delete and then press the Delete key. If necessary, delete the message from your
message Inbox as well.
Bluetooth®
Connect to any device
Bluetooth® is a wireless technology for exchanging data over short distances without physical
connection
Turning Bluetooth® on and off
Turn off Bluetooth when you are not using it to save battery power. Also, turned it off in places
where using a wireless device is not allowed (for example on board an aircraft).
1. From the home menu, select Bluetooth and then select Settings > Wireless & networks.
2. Select or clear the Bluetooth check box.
Sending files using Bluetooth®
You can use Bluetooth® to send your picture, videos, and audio files to another Bluetooth®
enabled device such as a phone or notebook computer.
Before you begin, make sure that the receiving device is set to discoverable mode
1. From the phonemenu, open the application that contains the file you want to send.
2. Select the media file and press the Bluetooth® key.
3. If necessary turn on the Bluetooth® device.
4. If you have not paired with the receiving device before, select Scan for devices.
5. Select the name of the receiving device
6. Press Send to sent the file.
Receiving files using Bluetooth®
When a file is sent to your phone using Bluetooth® technology, a dialog box appears on your
phone screen.
To perform this task, the Bluetooth® must be turned on. See Turning Bluetooth® on and off on
page 11
1. In the dialog box that appears on your device, asking if you accept the transfer click Yes.
2. Choose a location where to save the file.
3. Click Save.

4. When the file is transferred, a notification message is displayed.

Repairing the phone
This section contains a brief explanation that helps the technician to identify and troubleshoot
the phone problems.
1. Take the back cover off and remove the battery.
2. Inspect the phone main-board.
3. Look for signs of corrosion or moisture and, if found, replace the main-board.
4. Insert the battery.
5. Put the back cover on.
Running problem diagnostic report
If you have connectivity problems, you can run a diagnostic report that helps you to identity
the issues the phone might have. To run the report, follow this procedure:
1. Select Menu > Settings.
2. Choose Advanced Settings > Problem diagnostic.
3. Press Run.
4. Look for out of range data.
