PREPARATION
PREPARING/REPLACING THE BATTERY
The clock has a battery installed. Before you can use the
clock, you must remove the insulation tape from the
battery compartment.
The clock uses one 3 volt lithium battery, such as Radio
Shack Cat. No. 23-162. If the clock works improperly or
the display becomes dim, replace the battery.
Follow these step to remove the insulation tape or
replace the battery.
1.
Use a coin to turn the battery compartment cover
counterclockwise.
2.
If you are using the clock for the first time, remove the
insulation tape. Check to see that the battery is
positive (+) side up.
If you are replacing the battery, remove the old battery
and immediately discard it. Install the new battery with
the positive (+) side up.
3.
Replace the battery compartment cover. Turn it clock-
wise to secure it.
Warnings:
• Keep batteries away from children. Swallowing a
battery can be fatal.
• Do not throw a battery into a fire. It might explode.
Note:
You must set the time after you replace the battery.

MAINTENANCE
Your Micronta World Time Alarm Clock is an example of
superior design and craftsmanship. The following sug-
gestions will help you care for the clock so you can enjoy
it for years.
Keep the clock dry. If the clock does get wet, wipe it dry
immediately. Some liquids contain minerals that can
corrode the electronic circuits.
• Use and store the clock only in normal temperature
environments. Temperature extremes can shorten
the life of electronic devices, damage battery, and
distort or melt plastic parts.
• Handle the clock gently and carefully. Dropping it can
damage the circuit boards and can cause the clock to
work improperly.
• Keep the clock away from dust and dirt, which can
cause premature wear of parts.
• Wipe the clock with a damp cloth occasionally to keep
the clock looking new. Do not use harsh chemicals,
cleaning solvents, or strong detergents to clean the
clock.
• Use only afresh battery of the recommended size and
type. Always remove an old or weak battery. It can
leak chemicals that can destroy electronic circuits.
Modifying or tampering with the clock's internal compo-
nents can cause a malfunction and might invalidate its
warranty. If your clock is not performing as it should, take
it to your local Radio Shack store where our personnel
will assist you and arrange for service if needed.
