2.3.1 AC charger
Multi stage sophisticated charging algorithm for lead acid battery
Battery temperature is a key factor in correct charging, the charging formula must be adjusted
(automatically and in real time) according to the actual battery temperature to ensure that batteries
are fully charged but not overcharged or undercharged. All charging voltages recommended by
battery manufacturer are in fact ONLY applied at 20℃-25℃.
The BTS (battery temperature sensor) supplied with Energier Apollo measures the temperature
of battery and automatically makes adjustments at real time to properly charge your batteries at
compensation rate of – 4mv/℃/cell. In case of BTS is not present, Energier Apollo will use 25℃
as default setting. This feature is especially recommended for sealed batteries and/or when
important fluctuations of battery temperature are expected.
Battery temperature compensation
Through separately installed the VS (battery voltage sensor), Energier Apollo could automatically
adjust its output compensating voltage drop on the cable assuring the full charging through delivering
the right voltage to battery. Also Energier Apollo will be able to operate with or without VS.

When Energier Apollo is set to “Power Backup Mode”, it will power AC load with grid or generator
as first priority in case AC input is present. When the AC input is not present, it will switch to inverter
mode automatically, then AC loads will be powered by solar and battery.
Power backup mode
Energier Apollo can be set to power backup mode or solar mode.
2.5 Working principle
When Energier Apollo is set to “Solar Mode”, solar energy provides power to the AC loads as first
priority. If solar energy is not sufficient to power all connected AC loads, battery will supply power
to the load at same time. Grid provides power to the AC loads only when battery voltage drops to
“inverter to grid” threshold. At that situation Energier Apollo will be back to invert mode when battery
voltage increases to “grid to inverter” threshold .Both threshold values are preset in the configuration.
Please refer 6.3.2 for details.
