IMPORTA T SAFEGUARDS
1. READ ALL I STRUCTIO S
2. Check that your mains vo tage corresponds to that stated on the
app iance.
3. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use hand es or knobs.
4. To protect against e ectrica shock do not immerse cord, p ugs, or
the coffee maker in water or other iquid.
5. C ose supervision is necessary when any app iance is used by or
near chi dren.
6. Unp ug from out et when not in use and before c eaning. A ow to
coo before putting on or taking off parts.
7. Do not operate any app iance with a damaged cord or p ug or
after the app iance ma functions or has been damaged in any
manner. Return app iance to the nearest authorized service
faci ity for examination, repair, or adjustment.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the
app iance manufacturer may cause injuries.
9. Do not use outdoors.
10. Do not et cord hang over edge of tab e or counter, or touch hot
surfaces.
11. Do not p ace on or near a hot gas or e ectric burner, or in a
heated oven.
12. Extreme caution must be used when moving an app iance
containing hot oi or other hot iquids.
13. A ways attach p ug to app iance first, then p ug cord into the wa
out et. To disconnect, put the switch in off position, then remove
p ug from wa out et.
14. Do not use app iance for other than intended use.
15. Sca ding may occur if the id of the coffee maker is removed
during the brewing cyc es.
16. Make sure the app iance never comes into contact with
inf ammab e materia s such as curtains, texti es, ... when it is in use
as they might catch fire.

17. When removing ime sca e, on y use specia products for the
remova of ime sca e. Never use ammonia or any other
substance that might damage your hea th.
18. On y put ground coffee in the fi ter.
19. Never use your coffee maker without water in it. If you have a
programmab e coffee maker, make sure to fi it with water
before programming it.
Important: never put the jug in a microwave oven to warm up the
coffee. We wi not take any responsibi ity if you do so.

POLARIZED PLUG I STRUCTIO S
This app iance has a po arized p ug (one b ade is wider than the
other). To reduce the risk of e ectric shock, this p ug wi fit into the
po arized out et on y one way. If the p ug does not proper y fit into
the out et at first, reverse it. If it sti does not fit, contact a competent
qua ified e ectrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
SHORT CORD I STRUCTIO S
A short power supp y cord is provided to reduce the hazards resu ting
from becoming entang ed in, or tripping over a onger cord.
Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use.
• The e ectrica rating of the extension cord shou d be at east
that of the app iance. If the e ectrica rating of the extension
cord is too ow, it cou d overheat and burn.
• The resu ting extended cord shou d be arranged so that it wi
not drape over the counter top or tab etop where it can be
pu ed on by chi dren or tripped over.

PART DESCRIPTIO
I ITIAL OPERATIO
When you use your app iance for the first time, pour fresh water into
the water tank (without coffee) and switch on the app iance.
Once a the water has passed through, switch the app iance off and
et it coo down. When it is co d enough repeat the process with fresh
water. Repeat this process 3 times.
PREPARATIO OF COFFEE
• Open the id of the water tank and pour the desired vo ume of
water in it. The water eve can be read off the water eve
indicator on the water tank. Never exceed the maximum eve
indicated.
• Swing the fi ter ho der by pu ing at its hand e, insert a paper fi ter
or permanent fi ter (depending on the mode ) in the fi ter ho der
and add the desired quantity of ground coffee.

• Put the fi ter ho der back into its initia position and make sure it is
ocked proper y.
• Never forget to c ose the id of the water tank before switching
on your coffee maker.
• Put the g ass jug with c osed id on the base of the app iance.
• Switch on the coffee maker. The pi ot ight of the switch wi be
i uminated, indicating that your app iance is operating. Thanks to
the keep warm function, your coffee is warmed up as ong as the
app iance is switched on. Note that the app iance wi be
switched on as ong as you do not switch it off manua y.
However, we advise you not to et the app iance switched on
more than 2 hours and make sure that you never et an empty jug
on the app iance.
• When you remove the jug from the app iance, a non-drip va ve
wi automatica y operate to stop any drops of coffee dripping
onto the hotp ate. Rep acement of the carafe automatica y
opens the non-drip va ve and a ows remaining coffee to fi ter
trough into the jug.
• When the water tank is empty, wait a few additiona minutes
before removing the jug.

• Desca ing the coffee maker pro ongs its ife span. For desca ing
your coffee maker on y use products especia y made for this
purpose and read their instructions.
• To simp ify c eaning, you can remove the swing fi ter ho der. To do
so, open it comp ete y, and pu it upwards. To put it back,
proceed inverse y.
• C ean the jug and the fi ter ho der in soapy water and rinse them
with c ear water.
• For the other parts of the app iance such as the hot p ate, use a
soft damp c oth.
• ever use a dishwasher to clean any part of your coffee maker

When you notice that the coffee making process is onger than it
shou d be it is probab y time to deca cify the app iance. Do not wait
