1. INTRODUZIONE

Nell'ambito di questo manuale sono state adottate le seguenti convenzioni grafiche e linguistiche:

1.2. A VVERTENZE GENERALI .
Tecnodent, dietro richiesta dell'utente, si impegna a fornire liste di parti componenti, istruzioni per tarature od altre informazioni
che servano al personale tecnico dell'utente per l'esecuzione di riparazioni di quelle parti del seggiolino che il costruttore
considera riparabili.
AVVERTENZA.
Il costruttore si considera responsabile agli effetti della sicurezza, affidabilità e prestazioni
dell'apparecchiatura soltanto se:
Le operazioni di installazione, modifica o riparazione sono state effettuate da personale da lui
autorizzato;
L'apparecchiatura è utilizzata conformemente alle istruzioni per l'uso.
NOTA.
Si ricorda che secondo l'art. 14 della Direttiva 85/374/CEE "Responsabilità per danno da prodotto difettoso",
recepita in Italia dal Decreto del Presidente della Repubblica 24 maggio 1988, n. 224, "Il diritto di risarcimento si
estingue alla scadenza di dieci anni dal giorno in cui il produttore o l'importatore nell'Unione Europea ha messo in
circolazione il prodotto che ha cagionato il danno".
1.3. F INALITÀ DELLE INFORMAZIONI CONTENUTE IN QUESTO DOCUMENTO .
Questo manuale presenta i seggiolini tipo StingST e StingLE. Contiene informazioni sul loro funzionamento, le funzioni, la
manutenzione, la ricerca e soluzione dei problemi che essi possono presentare.
Esso è indirizzato all'utente finale, ossia al professionista che utilizza l'apparecchiatura per svolgere il proprio lavoro.
1.4. L IMITAZIONE DI RESPONSABILITÀ .
Il Costruttore è da ritenersi sollevato da eventuali responsabilità nei seguenti casi:
Uso improprio;
Carenze nella manutenzione;
Modifiche o interventi non autorizzati;
Utilizzo di ricambi non originali o non specifici per il modello;
Inosservanza, anche parziale, delle istruzioni;
Eventi eccezionali.
1.5. C ONDIZIONI PER IL TRASPORTO E L ' IMMAGAZZINAMENTO .
Il seggiolino è in grado, mentre è imballato per il trasporto o l'immagazzinamento, di essere sottoposto per un periodo non
superiore a 10 settimane a condizioni ambientali non al di fuori delle seguenti gamme:

1.6. S MALTIMENTO DELL ' IMBALLAGGIO .
Tutti i materiali seguenti utilizzati per l'imballaggio rispettano l'ambiente e sono riciclabili al 100%:
Cartone;
Polietilene con bolle d'aria.
Il recupero e il riciclaggio dei materiali utilizzati per l'imballaggio favorisce il risparmio delle materie prime e la diminuzione del
volume dei rifiuti. Consegnate l'imballaggio a una discarica autorizzata al recupero di questi materiali.

1.7. S MALTIMENTO DEL SEGGIOLINO .
Lo smaltimento del seggiolino non presenta rischi di alcun tipo.
Per una corretta salvaguardia dell'ambiente consegnate il seggiolino, ormai fuori uso, a una discarica autorizzata al recupero
dei materiali riciclabili e non.
2. DESCRIZIONE DELL'APPARECCHIATURA
2.1. D ESTINAZIONE D ’ USO .
Il prodotto descritto da questo manuale è una sedia per operatore dentale. Esso è previsto per rispondere alle esigenze generali
di un medico dentista o assistente. Date le caratteristiche del dispositivo, è possibile estendere il suo uso a qualunque persona.
2.2. G ARANZIA .
Il seggiolino, al momento della consegna, è munito del Certificato di Garanzia. In caso contrario si prega di richiederlo
immediatamente al proprio rivenditore. Il Certificato di Garanzia va compilato in ogni sua parte e spedito, entro 8 giorni dalla
data d'installazione, alla Casa Madre. Senza il rispetto di tale procedura, la Garanzia decade ed il personale del servizio
assistenza tecnica si vedrà costretto ad addebitare per intero qualsiasi intervento di riparazione che si rendesse necessario.
NOTA.
Rotture delle tappezzerie determinate dal contatto con vestiti o accessori d’abbigliamento (ad esempio cinture)
aventi parti metalliche, acuminate o similari non saranno oggetto di sostituzione in garanzia.
2.3. I DENTIFICAZIONE ED ETICHETTATURA .
Esternamente al seggiolino, sotto la sella, è posizionata la targhetta di identificazione. Su di essa sono riportati il modello del
seggiolino, il numero di matricola ed altre informazioni. Nella figura 1 è evidenziata la posizione della targhetta ed un suo fac-
simile.
2.4. C ARATTERISTICHE PRINCIPALI .
Questo capitolo offre una panoramica sulle caratteristiche principali dei seggiolini StingST e StingLE.
Sono inoltre illustrati i modelli principali, i relativi componenti ed accessori.
2.4.1. Descrizione.
Seggiolino perfettamente simmetrico utilizzabile sia a destra, sia a sinistra della poltrona.
Seduta a sella, che permette una più confortevole posizione dell'operatore durante le sessioni di lavoro.
Base scorrevole su 5 ruote non frenate.
Sedile regolabile in altezza e, per la versione con schienale, in inclinazione.
2.4.2. Accessori.
Il vostro rivenditore è a disposizione per darvi tutte le informazioni e mostrarvi le funzionalità degli accessori installabili
eventualmente non illustrati in questo manuale.
Schienale regolabile in altezza.
Il seggiolino può essere dotato di schienale regolabile in altezza, per ottenere un migliore supporto lombare.

Ruote frenate e non frenate.
I seggiolini tipo StingST e StingLE vengono forniti con ruote non frenate per garantire la massima mobilità del seggiolino in
qualsiasi momento.
A richiesta è possibile montare ruote autofrenate. Tali ruote consentono la mobilità del seggiolino solo quando l'operatore vi è
seduto. Questo garantisce all'operatore stesso la sicurezza che il seggiolino non scivoli via durante l'azione di sedersi.
Anello appoggiapiedi regolabile in altezza.
Il seggiolino può essere dotato, al momento dell'acquisto, di un anello appoggiapiedi. Tale anello favorisce il comfort
dell'operatore permettendo di variare la posizione delle gambe.
2.5. S PECIFICHE TECNICHE .
2.5.1. Conformità alle norme di settore.
I seggiolini modello StingST e StingLE sono conformi alla direttiva 93/42/CEE concernente i dispositivi medici.
In particolare, la progettazione e produzione tengono conto della normativa tecnica in vigore per i seggiolini ad uso dentale: UNI
EN ISO 7493.

3. MESSA IN SERVIZIO
3.1. S TATO DI FORNITURA .
All'interno dell'imballo devono essere contenuti i seguenti elementi:
Un seggiolino tipo StingST o StingLE;
Un manuale di istruzione per l'uso;
Un certificato di garanzia;
Un flacone di liquido detergente.
3.2. R IMOZIONE DELL ' IMBALLO .
Per aprire l'imballo occorre eliminare i punti che chiudono la parte superiore della scatola di cartone.
Se presente, lo schienale è fornito smontato dal corpo principale del seggiolino.
Si consiglia di togliere le parti dall'imballo sfilandole dall'alto dopo aver rimosso i blocchi di polistirolo espanso che le trattengono
nella corretta posizione.

3.3. A SSEMBLAGGIO .
Una volta liberato dal sacco di plastica di protezione, occorre assemblare al seggiolino il gruppo schienale, se presente.
Procedere come segue:
Posizionare il gruppo schienale con i tre fori di fissaggio in corrispondenza dei rispettivi fori sul sedile;
Inserire le tre viti di fissaggio, inserendo i relativi dadi e rondelle come da figura;
Stringere le viti (con chiave esagonale di 6 mm) e i relativi bulloni (chiave fissa di 13 mm) fino a quando lo schienale non
sia saldamente in posizione.
4. USO DEL PRODOTTO
4.1. C OMANDI .
Il seggiolino, a seconda delle versioni, può avere fino a quattro comandi.
Leva L, posta sul lato destro sotto il sedile.
Pomello B, posto sotto la sella, nella parte frontale.
Pomello P, posto sul retro dello schienale, se presente.
Pomello M, posto sul collare centrale dell'anello, se presente.

4.2. R EGOLAZIONE DELL ' ALTEZZA SEDILE .
Per regolare l'altezza del sedile del seggiolino nella maniera più agevole si consiglia di sedersi sul seggiolino stesso e sfruttare il
peso del proprio corpo.
Mantenendo spinta la leva L verso il basso, il seggiolino si abbassa aiutato dal peso che grava su di esso.
Mantenendo spinta la leva L verso il basso, e alleggerendo il peso gravante sul seggiolino sollevandosi sulle proprie gambe,
il seggiolino si alza automaticamente.
4.3. R EGOLAZIONE DELL ' INCLINAZIONE .
Per regolare l'inclinazione del sedile (e, se presente, dello schienale) del seggiolino nella maniera più agevole si consiglia di
sedersi sul seggiolino stesso e sfruttare il peso del proprio corpo. Procedere quindi come segue:
Sbloccare la leva L, spingendo la leva verso la parte posteriore del seggiolino;
Appoggiare il peso sullo schienale per sbloccare il meccanismo;
Muovere la schiena per trovare la posizione desiderata;
Bloccare la leva L, spingendola verso la parte anteriore del seggiolino;
Assestarsi sulla seduta in modo che esso si agganci allo scatto più vicino.
Mantenendo sbloccata la leva, il seggiolino rimane basculante e segue gli spostamenti di peso dell'operatore.
4.4. R EGOLAZIONE DEL BASCULAMENTO .
Il seggiolino è dotato di un meccanismo che, quando il comando di inclinazione è sbloccato, permette di variare la forza di
compensazione del peso dell'operatore.
Avvitare il pomello B per aumentare la forza di compensazione del peso.
Svitarlo per ottenere l'effetto contrario.
4.5. R EGOLAZIONE DELL ' ALTEZZA SCHIENALE ( SE PRESENTE ).
Si consiglia di regolare la posizione dello schienale del seggiolino agendo dalla parte posteriore dello schienale stesso:
Svitare il pomello P;
Regolare lo schienale all'altezza desiderata;
Avvitare nuovamente il pomello.
4.6. R EGOLAZIONE DELL ' ANELLO APPOGGIA PIEDI ( SE PRESENTE ).
Per sistemare la posizione dell'appoggia piedi del seggiolino, procedere come segue:
Svitare il pomello M;
Regolare l'appoggia piedi all'altezza desiderata;
Avvitare nuovamente il pomello.
5. MANUTENZIONE
I seggiolini StingST e StingLE sono stati progettati per non richiedere alcuna manutenzione durante la loro vita. Non vi sono
quindi operazioni da compiere ad intervalli di tempo prefissati.
Se il seggiolino non viene utilizzato per parecchi giorni, si consiglia di coprirlo con un telo per preservarlo dalla polvere.
AVVERTENZA.
Si consiglia di far effettuare qualsiasi operazione di riparazione del seggiolino a personale specializzato
del servizio di assistenza.
5.1. P ULIZIA .
Per una migliore e più lunga durata del seggiolino è indispensabile eseguire metodicamente e periodicamente una accurata
pulizia generale.
Si consiglia di procedere come descritto di seguito.
ATTENZIONE.
Si prega di evitare l'uso di diluenti, detergenti e forti abrasivi, quand'anche fosse per "eliminare macchie
difficili".
5.1.1. Tappezzerie.
La tappezzeria del seggiolino deve essere pulita esclusivamente con il liquido detergente contenuto nel flacone acquistabile
presso il rivenditore, utilizzando un panno morbido al fine di evitare il formarsi di screpolature sulla superficie e di garantire
elasticità e morbidezza al tessuto stesso.
NOTA.
Appena il flacone sarà esaurito si consiglia di riordinarne al più vicino centro di vendita e assistenza.
5.1.2. Parti in plastica o in metallo
Le parti in plastica, insieme alle parti in metallo (verniciate e non), devono essere pulite con un panno imbevuto di acqua e
sapone.

1.2. G ENERAL WARNING .
On request, Tecnodent will make the components part list, descriptions, calibration instructions or other information available,
which will assist the user's technical personnel to carry out repairs of those parts of the stool which are designed by the
manufacturer as repairable.
WARNING.
The manufacturer will accept responsibility for the security, reliability and performance of the equipment
on the following conditions:
Installation and any repairs or modifications are carried out by authorized personnel only;
The equipment is used in accordance with the operating instructions.
NOTE.
Please note that in accordance with Art. 14 of EEC Directive 85/374 "Liability for damages arising from defective
products" implemented in Italy by Presidential Decree dated May 24, 1988 n. 224; "Right to compensation ceases

This manual shows the StingST and StingLE stools. It contains information regarding its functions, performances, servicing and
troubleshooting.
This manual is intended for the final user, the professional that uses the equipment to perform his job.
1.4. L IMITATION OF RESPONSIBILITY .
The Manufacturer must be relieved of any responsibility in the following cases:
Improper use;
Lack of servicing;
Unauthorized modification or interventions;
Use of non-original spare parts, or not model-specific;
Neglecting the instructions for use, even if partial;
Exceptional events.
1.5. T RANSPORT AND STORAGE .
While packed for transport or storage the stool can be exposed to environmental conditions, which do not lie outside the
following ranges, for a period not exceeding 10 weeks:

1.6. P ACKING DISPOSAL .
The materials mentioned below, used for packing, respect the environment and are 100% recyclable:
Cardboard;
Polythene with air bubbles.
Collection and recycle of materials used for packing favour saving of raw material and drop in quantity of waste material. Please
deliver the packing to an authorized dump collecting these materials.

1.7. S TOOL DISPOSAL .
Stool disposal doesn't present risk of any type.
For proper environmental safeguard, please deliver the stool, now out of order, to an authorized dump collecting recyclable and
non-recyclable materials.
2. EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION
2.1. I NTENDED USE .
The product described in this manual is a dental operator’s stool. It is intended to comply with the general requirements of a
dental practitioner or his assistant. Considering the characteristics of such a device, it is possible to extend its use to anybody.
2.2. W ARRANTY .
The stool is accompanied by a Warranty Certificate. If there is no such certificate, it must be requested from the dealer
immediately, completely filled in and sent back to the manufacturer (Tecnodent) within 8 days from the date of delivery of the
apparatus. If this procedure is not observed, warranty conditions are not valid and the service technicians will be compelled to
charge entirely for all technical interventions possibly required.
NOTE.
Upholstery damage caused by contact with clothes or clothing accessories (ex: belts) having metal, sharp, pointed
or similar parts will not be replaced under warranty.
2.3. I DENTIFICATION AND LABELLING .
The stool identification label is found outside the stool under the base, where you can find the stool model, the serial number
and other information. Figure 1 shows the label position and a fac-simile.
2.4. G ENERAL FEATURES .
This chapter offers a full view of the main features of the StingST and StingLE stools.
Moreover, the main stool components and their corresponding accessories are shown.
2.4.1. Description.
Perfectly symmetrical stool for use both on the right and on the left side of the patient chair.
Saddle seat, that allows a more comfortable operator position during work sessions.
Swivelling base, on 5 non-braked castors
Seat adjustable in height and, for the version with backrest, in tilt.
2.4.2. Accessories.
Your dealer is at your complete disposal for any information about functions and accessories which can be installed on the stool,
and which might not be described in this manual.
Height adjustable backrest.
The stool can be equipped from the factory with a height adjustable backrest, in order to obtain better lumbar support.

Braked or non-braked castors.
StingST and StingLE stools are supplied from the factory with non-braked castors, which guarantee maximum freedom of
movement of the stool at any time.
On request, it is possible to mount self-braked castors on the stool. These castors allow the stool to run only when the operator
is correctly seated on it, in order to guarantee maximum safety and prevent the stool running away from the operator when
sitting down.
Height adjustable footrest ring.
The stool can be equipped with a footrest ring. This footrest can improve operator comfort, by allowing him to vary leg positions.
2.5. T ECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
2.5.1. Sector-specific standard compliance.
The StingST and StingLE model stools comply with Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC.
Specifically, design and manufacture comply with the technical standard concerning dental operator stools: UNI EN ISO 7493.

3. INSTALLATION
3.1. S UPPLY STATUS .
Inside the cardboard box you will find the following items:
A StingST or StingLE stool;
An operating instruction manual;
A warranty certificate;
A bottle of fabric cleaner.
3.2. U NPACKING .
To remove the packing, it is necessary to remove the staples, which close the upper portion of the cardboard box.
If present, the backrest is supplied dismounted from the main body of the stool.
It is recommended to take the stool out of the cardboard box by lifting it from the top, after having removed the polystyrene block,
which keeps the stool in its correct packing position.

3.3. A SSEMBLY .
Once the plastic bag has been removed, the backrest, if present, should be assembled to the main body of the stool.
Follow these instructions:
Place the backrest group so that the three fastening holes corresponding to the respective holes on the seat;
Insert the three fastening screws, placing also the necessary nuts and washers, like shown in the image above;
Tighten the screws (with a 6 mm Allen key) and the nuts (with a 13 mm spanner) until the backrest is firmly in his position.
4. USING THE PRODUCT
4.1. C ONTROLS .
The stool, depending on the versions, can have up to four controls.
Handle L, placed under the saddle, on the right side;
Knob B, placed under the saddle, on the front side;
Knob P, placed on the rear of the backrest, if present;
Knob M, placed on the centre ring of the footrest, if present.

4.2. H EIGHT ADJUSTMENT .
In order to adjust the stool seat height in a comfortable way, it is recommended to sit on the stool and use your own body weight.
By pushing the lever L downwards, the stool moves downwards under body weight.
By pushing the lever L downwards while standing up to eliminate body weight pressure on the stool, the stool moves
upwards.
4.3. S EAT TILT POSITION ADJUSTMENT .
To adjust the seat tilt position (and, if present, of the backrest) in the most comfortable way, it's recommended to sit on the stool
and use your own body weight. Then, follow these instructions:
Unlock the lever L, by pushing it backwards;
Use body weight to push and unlock the mechanism;
Move the backbone to find the desired position;
Lock lever L, by pushing it forward;
Settle on the seat to make it hook to the nearest pre-defined position
By keeping unlocked the lever, the stool is free to tilt, and follows the operator's weight balance.
4.4. T ILTING COMPENSATION ADJUSTMENT .
The stool is provided with a mechanism which, allows to vary the compensation force of the operator’s weight, when the tilting
command is unlocked.
Rotate the knob B clockwise to increase weight compensation strength.
Rotate it anti-clockwise to obtain the opposite effect.
4.5. B ACKREST HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT ( IF PRESENT ).
It is recommended to adjust the backrest position from the rear of the stool:
Unscrew the knob P;
Set the desired backrest height;
Tighten back the knob P.
4.6. F OOTREST RING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT ( IF PRESENT ).
To adjust the stool's footrest ring height, follow these instructions:
Unscrew the knob M;
Set the desired footrest ring height;
Tighten the knob M.
5. MAINTENANCE
StingST and StingLE stools are made to require no maintenance during their life. There are thus no specific re-adjustments to
be carried out at any time.
If the stool is not used for some time, it is recommended to cover it in order to protect it against dust.
WARNING.
It is recommended to have any technical adjustment as well as any repair of the stool carried out by
specialized maintenance technicians.
5.1. C LEANING .
For a better and longer life of the stool it must be cleaned methodically and periodically.
Proceed as follows.
CAUTION.
It is recommended to avoid the use of any solvent, detergent or strong abrasive agent for eliminating
"difficult stains".
5.1.1. Upholsteries.
The fabric covering the stool upholstery must only be cleaned using the liquid detergent in the bottle sold by the dealer, using a
soft cloth to avoid any surface-chap and to guarantee better elasticity and smoothness of the surface.
NOTE.
As soon as the bottle of liquid runs out, it is recommended to order more from the closest sales and
maintenance centre.
5.1.2. Plastic or metal parts.
Plastic or metal parts (both painted and not) must be wiped with a cloth soaked in soap and water.

1.6. É LIMINATION DE L ' EMBALLAGE .
Les matériaux suivants, utilisés pour l'emballage, respectent l'environnement et sont 100% recyclables:
Carton;
Polyéthylène avec bulles d'air.
La récupération et le recyclage des matériaux utilisés pour l'emballage favorisent l'économie des matières premières ainsi que
la diminution de la quantité de déchets. Jetez l'emballage dans une décharge autorisée pour la récupération des ces matériaux.
