For trike models equipped with a Fixed Seat, loosen and remove the Fixed Seat Bolt
using an 8mm allen wrench. For models equipped with a Sliding or EZ seat clamp,
loosen and remove M8 bolts from the seat mounting tabs using an 8mm allen wrench.
For Rover models, loosen and remove the seat clamp Quick Release and Shims. Next,
remove the seat stay pins and disconnect the seat. Using a 4mm allen wrench and
10mm open ended wrench, remove the lower seat stays from the frame of the trike.
(Lower seat stays may be left on if strapped to the frame to prevent movement during
transport.)

PLEASE READ PRIOR TO INSTALLATION:
It is imperative that the trike is properly and securely attached to your vehicle. Improper
attachment could result in an automobile accident, and could cause serious bodily injury or
death to you or to others. You are responsible for securing the trike to your car, checking
the attachments prior to use, and periodically inspecting the blocks and straps for adjustment,
wear and damage. Therefore, you must read and understand all of the instructions and cautions
supplied with your TerraTrike Universal Trike Carrier prior to installation or use. If you do not
understand all of the instructions and cautions, or if you are not condent in your ability to
properly use this product, consult a professional.
Ensure bottoms of blocks and area of roof under blocks are clean and free of debris. Failure to do
so could lead to scratches in roof and reduced grip of the block to the roof requiring increased
and undue pressure on trike, roof and straps. Park vehicle on level ground.

Slide the blocks onto all three tires. Place the trike onto the roof of the vehicle. Adjust
placement if necessary to ensure clearance of objects on the roof such as a sunroof,
existing roof rack or antenna. Once the trike is positioned, lock the parking brakes.

Run a strap through the vehicle’s front door frames and over top of the trike. Do the
same through the rear door frames. Two straps are included for distributing pressure
and maximizing grip to the roof. Depress the camming portion of the buckle and push
the loose end of the strap, from the bottom, through the opening in the buckle. Pull
the loose end of the strap to adjust tension. Putting a twist in the strap on the outside
of the vehicle will help reduce wind vibration. Ensure the straps are not interfering or
putting pressure on the spokes, chain, or cables. Reposition wheels if necessary.

Final Checklist:
• Ensure the strap running through the vehicle does not interfere
with driving or passengers inside of vehicle.
• Apply even pressure to front and rear straps and DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN!
• Check for trike movement and adjust strap pressure accordingly.
• Bind up and tie off any excess strapping material.
• Periodically check straps during travel and tighten if necessary.
• Replace straps if they become worn or frayed.
• Be considerate of weight limits for the vehicle’s roof.
4Note: Slide Anti-slip Frame Pad onto straps and position on trike for added
protection. Periodically check straps during travel, especially in wet weather and
tighten if necessary.
