COMMUNICATIONS REGULATIONS

RADIO AND TELEVISION INTERFERENCE

The equipment described in this manual can generate and radiate radio-frequency energy. If it is not

installed and used properly, and in accordance with Tesla’s instructions, it can interfere with radio and

television reception.

The GB AC Adapter complies with the Chinese standard GB/T 20234.2-2015.

WARNINGS

• Read this document before using the GB AC Adapter. Failure to follow any of the instructions or

warnings in this document can result in

fire, electrical shock, serious injury or death

• The GB AC Adapter is designed only for charging the European-based Tesla Model S and Model X with

Type 2 plugs. Do not use it for any other purpose or with any other vehicle or object. The GB AC

Adapter is intended only for vehicles that do not require ventilation during charging.

• Do not use the GB AC Adapter if it is defective, appears cracked, frayed, broken or otherwise damaged,

or fails to operate.

• Do not use the GB AC Adapter with a charger that is damaged or has a compromised connector (for

example, a damaged latch).

• Do not attempt to open, disassemble, repair, tamper with, or modify the GB AC Adapter. The adapter is

not user serviceable. Contact Tesla for any repairs.

• Do not disconnect the GB AC Adapter while charging the vehicle.

• Do not use the GB AC Adapter when either you, the vehicle, the charger, or the GB AC Adapter is

exposed to severe rain, snow, electrical storm or other inclement weather.

• Protect the GB AC Adapter from moisture, water and foreign objects at all times. If any exist or appear

to have damaged or corroded the GB AC Adapter, do not use the GB AC Adapter.

• Do not touch the GB AC Adapter’s end terminals with sharp metallic objects, such as wire, tools or

needles.

SAVE THESE IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS. This document contains important instructions and

warnings that must be followed when using the GB AC Adapter.

• If rain falls during charging, do not allow rainwater to run along the length of cable and wet the GB AC

Adapter or the vehicle’s charging port.

• If the GB AC charging station’s charge cable is submerged in water or covered in snow, do not insert the

GB AC Adapter’s plug. If, in this situation, the GB AC Adapter’s plug is already plugged in and needs to

be unplugged, stop charging first, then unplug the GB AC Adapter’s plug.

• Do not damage the GB AC Adapter with sharp objects.

• Do not insert foreign objects into any part of the GB AC Adapter.

• Ensure that the GB AC charging station’s charge cable and the GB AC Adapter do not obstruct

pedestrians or other vehicles or objects.

• Use of the GB AC Adapter may affect or impair the operation of any medical or implantable electronic

devices, such as an implantable cardiac pacemaker or an implantable cardioverter defibrillator. Check

with the electronic device manufacturer concerning the effects that charging may have on such

electronic device before using the GB AC Adapter.

• Do not use cleaning solvents to clean the GB AC Adapter.

SPECIFICATIONS

Use only for connecting the charging cable on a on a

suitable Tesla vehicle model. The location of the

charge port will vary depending on your vehicle

model. Refer to your Tesla vehicle’s owner

documentation for the location of the charge port and

more detailed charging instructions.

CAUTION: Do not operate or store the GB AC

Adapter in temperatures outside the ranges

listed above.

CHARGING TIME

Charging times vary based on the power and current

available from the charger, subject to various

conditions. Charge time also depends on ambient

temperature and the vehicle’s Battery temperature. If

the Battery is not within the optimal temperature

range for charging, the vehicle will heat or cool the

Battery before charging begins.

PLUGGING IN

CAUTION: Always inspect the GB AC Adapter

for damage prior to each use.

With your key nearby, use the touchscreen or other

method to open the charge port on your Tesla

vehicle.

Attach the GB AC Adapter to the end of the

charger’s charge cable and use the latch to lock the

adapter into place.

Plug the GB AC Adapter into your Tesla vehicle and

wait for the vehicle to engage a latch that holds the

adapter in place.

Follow the instructions on the GB AC charger to

start the charging session.

NOTES:

• Steps 2 and 3 can be done in reverse order.

• The operation of the GB AC charger will vary

depending on the charger’s manufacturer. For

details, refer to the GB AC charger’s instructions.

• Check the instrument panel or the touchscreen to

confirm that charging is in progress.

UNPLUGGING

When charging is complete:

Follow the instructions on the charger to stop the

charging session.

Press and hold the button on the charger’s charge

cable, wait for the vehicle’s latch to retract, then

pull the adapter out of the charge port.

Push the charge port door closed.

Unplug the GB AC Adapter from the charger and

store it in an appropriate location.

RESOLVING FAULTS

If your Tesla vehicle fails to charge when using the

GB AC Adapter, check the display on your Tesla

vehicle for information about any error that may have

occurred. Always check the status of the charger.

Although the GB AC Adapter is designed to work with

all GB/T 2015 chargers, it may be incompatible with

some chargers.

Because continuous improvement is an ongoing goal

at Tesla, and is necessary to ensure compatibility with

as many models of GB AC chargers as possible, both

present and future, Tesla reserves the right to make

product modifications at any time.
