The TDCH is a thermo dynamic sytem based on air source heat pump
using ambient room air which is then forced through a heat exchanger
and condenser using refrigerent fluid. This is all contained in a
compact easy to install housing

Ensure adequate ventilation if the
unit is placed in a cupboard type
space
for air in and air out
The installation should be carried out as detailed
below:
•Check that there is sufficient space for the
unit see Fig 4
•Check that there is sufficient space to hook up
the pipework and electrics.
•The unit must be transported vertically
•The unit must be installed vertically
•Check that the setting area in strong enough
to take the units weight
a 250 litre unit weighs approx. 300 Kgs when full of
water

NOTE
The TDCH works by drawing ambient air in, extracting the heat, and expelling cold air out at the
rear of the unit.
It is best pactice to situate the unit next to an outside wall and and fit ducting to direct the cold
air to the outside of the building.
Hot air drawn in through top of unit and
cold air expelled at rear through wall
ducting

IMPORTANT
The equipment is rated to 6 bar on the cold water feed side and a safety valve is
supplied see Fig 5 and should be installed.
It is recommended that an expansion vessel (tank) is fitted on the cold water outlet side.
The current plumbing regulations should be referred to when fitting the
expansion vessel
17 is located on the rear of the unit see Page 8

NB Resitance refers to Immerser Coil
Filling the tank
After the pipework for the tank and the CH coil have been fitted.
Fill the tank by opening the cold water feed at the bottom of the unit See page 8,
allow the tank to fill and monitor the hot water outlet for water returns.
Close the cold water feed and hook the hot water outlet to the hot water system

The unit is fitted with a 2 K watt immerser coil situated at the back of the unit this can be
switched on manually maximum temperature is set at 70 deg C, the switch is on the front
of the cabinet see Fig 7 (resistance switch).
NOTE
To activate the immerser coil both the thermodynamic and the immerser coil switches
must be in the on position

Trouble shooting cont.
Water escaping from the
tank
Codensation Check that there is no blockage in the condensate tray or
condensate drip hose
Water leak
Check that none of the piping / connexions are leaking
Check the pressure and temperature relief valve
discharge is not causing the water leak
Compressor working
intermitantly
Power source Check eletrical plug is in the socket correctly
Cable is not in tension
Drip tray and hose inspection clearing procedure
1. Switch off electrical power supply to the unit
2. Remove the four retaining screws in the top of the unit
3. Remove lid
4. Inspect the drip tray to see if there is excess water flowing over the tray
5. If so remove the drip pipe connexion from the rear of the unit ( use a container to catch
any water) Fig A
6. If the drip tray drains then there is a blockage in the drip pipe, call your installer
7. If the tray does not drain there is a blockage in the drip tray or internal drip pipe Fig B
8. This can be cleared by inserting a wire rod e.g.a wire coat hanger ,into the internal drip
pipe and out through the tray outlet Fig C
9. Remove any debris.
10. Re install drip pipe connector
11. Re install lid and attach with the four screws
12. Switch unit back on.
External drip pipe connextion Fig A
