Product information
Product description
The DeviceLink™ Hub enables users to remotely monitor sensors and alarms for
laboratory equipment and instruments using the Thermo Fisher Cloud. The
laboratory equipment or instrument alarms and notications are sent to the user by
email and mobile push notication.
Intended Use
This product is intended for use as a monitoring device for laboratory equipment.
This product is not intended for use with medical devices, as the unit does not comply
with FDA 21CFR Part 11 for electronic records.

DeviceLink™Hub setup and
operation
IMPORTANT! The DeviceLink™ Hub requires a Thermo Fisher Cloud account. See
“Before rst use“.
Before first use
If you do not have a Thermo Fisher Connect account, create an account. See
thermosher.com/cloud for instructions.
Unpack the device
1. At the time of delivery, inspect the product packaging for damage before signing
for the shipment.
Note: Packaging damage does not denote that the product is also damaged.
2. Remove the product from its shipping carton, then inspect for damage.
3. If you nd any damage, keep the packing material and report the damage to the
carrier immediately.
• Do not return goods to the manufacturer without wrien authorization.
• When submiing a claim for shipping damage, request that the carrier
inspect the shipping container and equipment.

Prepare the power supply
1. Select the appropriate adapter for your electrical outlet.
2. Slide the adapter onto the power supply and lock into place.

The adapter should slide easily and there should be a click when the adapter is
locked.
3. To switch to another adapter, press the Release buon on the adapter. See the
gure in step 2.

1. Plug the power supply into the micro USB power port on the DeviceLink™ Hub,
then connect it to the electrical outlet.
Note:
·Use the power supply that is provided with the kit or an equivalent model.
·If you are using an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), plug the power
supply into the DeviceLink™ Hub, then connect it to the UPS. The UPS must
be purchased separately.
When the DeviceLink™ Hub is powered on, the Wi-Fi hotspot is enabled until
you submit the conguration. After successful conguration, upon powering the
DeviceLink™ Hub on and o, the DeviceLink™ Hub Wi-Fi remains active for
5 minutes, during which time the DeviceLink™ Hub can be connected to a
network and linked to the Thermo Fisher Cloud.

2. Connect the data and power cables as shown in the following gure, then power
on the DeviceLink™ Hub. Use the clip on the DeviceLink™ Hub to fasten the
cables and prevent the cables from hanging freely.

3. Plug the data cable into a USB port on the DeviceLink™ Hub, then connect the
data cable to the laboratory equipment or instrument being monitored.

Mount the DeviceLink™Hub to the laboratory equipment or
instrument using magnets
Note: We do not recommend using the keyhole slots on the back of the DeviceLink™
Hub to mount the DeviceLink™ Hub to a wall near the laboratory equipment or
instrument being monitored.
1. Copy the MAC ID and serial number (S/N) number, which are on the boom of
the DeviceLink™ Hub. You need the MAC ID and serial number during the setup
process.

2. Using the magnets, mount the DeviceLink™ Hub to the laboratory equipment or
instrument being monitored.
The magnets are on the boom of the DeviceLink™ Hub.

IMPORTANT!
·Do not place the DeviceLink™ Hub on the door of the laboratory equipment or
instrument being monitored, as the repeated opening and closing of the door
can lead to cables breaking and loss of monitoring function.
·An Ultra-Low Temperature freezer is shown in the following gures as an
example. Other laboratory equipment and instruments are connected in a
similar manner.

3. Use the adhesive mounts and adjustable tie wraps to fasten power and data
cables.
An example of the aachment scheme is shown in the previous step.
Note: Before installing the adhesive mounts, ensure that the cables can reach the
appropriate plugs.

b. Clean the surface of the laboratory equipment or instrument being
monitored using an isopropanol solution (50%) or using the cleaning swabs
provided, then dry the surface using the dry wipes provided.
c. Aach the adhesive mounts to the laboratory equipment or instrument
being monitored, then use the adjustable tie wraps to fasten the data and
power cables such that the cables are not hanging freely.

1. Connect the DeviceLink™ Hub to a network.
a. Open the Wi-Fi seings menu on your Wi-Fi enabled device (phone, tablet,
or laptop).
b. In the list of available Wi-Fi networks, select the network starting with the
leers DLH followed by the last 8 alphanumeric characters from the serial
number on the label, which is on the boom of the DeviceLink™ Hub. See
the gure in substep 1c.

c. If prompted, enter the password. The password is the MAC ID (12
characters, all capital leers).

and may not require you to enter a password.

2. Open a web browser on your device (phone, tablet, or laptop), then enter the
following web address: hps://dlh.thermosher.com/
Note: You must enter hps, not hp.
The DLH Conguration window opens.
3. Select the network type (Wi-Fi or Ethernet). If you are going to connect the
DeviceLink™ Hub to the internet by Ethernet, skip the Wi-Fi conguration elds
in step 4. The SSID and Network Password elds are blocked out.
IMPORTANT! The DeviceLink™ Hub should be congured for Wi-Fi or Ethernet,
not both.
