CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
Tibor Light® reels require virtually no maintenance.
Occasionally, a few drops of TiborLubeTM should be
applied to the ConstaLubeTM Felt. If sand or dirt gets
into the reel, simply remove the Spool, ush with
fresh water and reinstall the Spool. Aside from the
Drag Felt, there is nothing on the reel to lubricate.
Periodically, especially after extensive exposure to
saltwater, the line and backing should be removed
and wiped down with a wet cloth to remove salt.
When the reel, line and backing are completely dry,
the reel should be stored in its protective pouch.
Please note: Exceeding the recommended
capacity by over-lling the Spool and/or putting
line on too tightly or with too much tension may
damage the Spool and is not covered under
warranty. Please refer to this capacity chart as
your basic guide:

also convert the reel yourself in three easy steps
by rotating the Clutch Pins on the Brake Drum.
Please refer to the numbered parts list on the
reverse side.
1. Begin by tightening the Drag Adjustment
Screw (part #7); then loosen the Retainer Knob
(part #17) and remove the Spool (part #14).
2. Using a small screwdriver, simply press and
rotate both Clutch Pins (part #12) 180˚ so
that the “slope”of the Pins faces the opposite
direction.
3. Replace the Spool and tighten the Retainer Knob.
