ac ion, you may feel he brake pedal pulsa ing and
hear a noise. In his si ua ion, o le he An i-lock
Brake Sys em work for you, jus hold he brake pedal
down more firmly. Do no pump he brake as his will
resul in reduced braking performance.

1Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed
to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse
conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices.
Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering
input can all affect hether VSC ill be effective in preventing
loss of control.
2Brake-Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of
the benefits of ABS (Anti-lock Brake System). It is not a
substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also
depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road
conditions.
TRAC (T action Cont ol) (if installed)
Helps con rol spinning of he fron wheels, which
may occur when accelera ing on slippery roads.

•The driver and fron passenger airbag Supplemen al Res rain
Sys em (SRS) is designed only as a supplemen o he primary
pro ec ion of he sea bel sys ems of he driver and fron
passenger. The fron sea occupan s are par icularly suscep ible
o injury if hey do no wear heir sea bel s; when sudden
braking or a collision occurs, hey may be hrown forward. To
ob ain maximum pro ec ion in an acciden , he driver and all
passengers in he vehicle should always wear heir sea bel s
when driving because serious injuries or dea h can resul o
unres rained occupan s. For ins ruc ions and precau ions

•Never use a rear-facing child res rain sys em in he fron sea
even if he fron passenger occupan classifica ion indica or
ligh is “OFF.” The force of he rapid infla ion of he passenger
airbag can cause severe injury or dea h o a child.
•Unless i is unavoidable, do no ins all a forward-facing child
res rain sys em in he fron sea even if he fron passenger
occupan classifica ion indica or ligh is “OFF.” If you mus
ins all a forward-facing child res rain sys em in ha he fron
sea , move he sea as far back as possible.
•Make sure you have complied wi h all ins alla ion ins ruc ions
provided by he child res rain manufac urer and he sys em is
properly secured.
•Make sure he fron passenger occupan classifica ion indica or
ligh indica es “ON” when using he sea bel ex ender for he
fron passenger sea . If he indica or ligh indica es “OFF,”
disconnec he ex ender ongue from he sea bel buckle,
hen reconnec he sea bel . Reconnec he sea bel ex ender
af er making sure he indica or ligh indica es “ON.” If you use
he sea bel ex ender while he indica or ligh indica es
“OFF,” he fron passenger airbag and side airbag on he fron
passenger side may no ac iva e correc ly, which could cause
dea h or serious injury in he even of collision.
•If an adul si s in he fron passenger sea , he occupan
classifica ion indica or ligh should indica e “ON.” If he “OFF”
indica or is illumina ed, ask he passenger o si up s raigh ,
well back in he sea , fee on he floor, and wi h he sea bel
worn correc ly. If he “OFF” indica or s ill remains illumina ed,
ei her ask he passenger o move o he rear sea , or if ha is
no possible, move he fron passenger sea fully rearward.
•The SRS side and side cur ain airbags (op ional) are designed o
deploy in cer ain ypes of severe side impac collisions. In all
o her collisions, he side impac and side cur ain airbags will
no deploy. For ins ruc ions and precau ions, see your Owner’s
Manual.
•Do no lean agains he side doors when he vehicle is in use.
The side and side cur ain airbags infla e wi h considerable
speed and force. Dea h or serious injury could resul .
•Do no modify, cover or replace he surface of he fron sea s.
Such changes could disable he sys em or preven he airbags
from ac iva ing correc ly, resul ing in dea h or serious injury.
