INTRODUCTION
Thank you for choosing the Transcend Heated HumidifierTM, designed for use with the Transcend
sleep apnea flow generator products.
Please read all instructions in this Quick Guide prior to use. To download the complete Transcend
Heated Humidifier User Guide, please go to www.mytranscend.com/resources, or obtain a copy
by calling Transcend Customer Service at 877-621-9626. Begin by inspecting all items shipped
to you. Please report any damaged or missing items to the home healthcare provider where you
obtained your device.
GENERAL WARNINGS
• UsethehumidifieronlyforitsintendeduseasdefinedinthisQuickGuide.
•Onlyusethe Transcend Sleep Apnea Starter System (Model 503042) positive
airway pressure device and a 6 foot air supply tube with the Humidifier.
• Ifthehumidifierisdamagedbywater,disconnectthepowercordimmediately,
discontinue use, and contact your homecare equipment service provider.
• TheHumidifierisforsinglepatientuseandmustnotbereusedonanotherperson.
This is to avoid the risk of cross-infection.
• AlwaysplacetheHumidifierlowerthanthelevelofthepatient.Ifitisplacedator
above the level of the patient, heated water may flow down the air tubing and into
the mask.
• TakecarewhenhandlingtheHumidifier.Thewaterinthereservoirmaybehot.
• Donotmodifythisequipmentwithoutauthorizationofthemanufacturer.
• TheHumidifierWaterReservoirmustbecompletelydrainedofwaterpriortotransport.
WaterremainingintheWaterReservoirmayleakduringtransport,damagetheelectrical
circuitryofthedevice,andcreateapotentialelectricalshockhazard.
• DonotusetheHumidifierinthepresenceofflammableorexplosivematerials.
• Medicalelectricalequipment,includingthisdevice,requirespecialprecautions
regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and need to be installed, placed,
and used according to EMC information.

GETTING STARTED
Important: It is important to place the Humidifier on a firm, level surface near your bed. It is
recommended that you not place the Humidifier on a surface that could be damaged by water.
The Humidifier should be on a level that is lower than your sleeping position to help prevent
condensation in the mask.
FILLING THE WATER RESERVOIR
1. RemovetheWaterReservoirfromthe
Humidifier by pulling outward (Image a).
2. Remove the Fill Cap (Image b) and carefully
filltheWaterReservoirtotheMAXfillline
with distilled water (Image c).
3. Replace the Fill Cap and carefully return
theWaterReservoirtotheHumidifierbody
(Image d).
STARTING AND ENDING THERAPY
1. Attach the air supply tubing (hose) to the
Humidifier. Be sure your mask is securely
attached to the opposite end of the air
supply tubing (Image e).
Note: Standard 6 foot air tubing is supplied
with the Transcend Sleep Apnea Starter
System. If you have been using the PAP device
without the Humidifier, the universal hose
adapter must be removed from the 6 foot air
tubing prior to use.

2. Place the PAP device into the
corresponding slots at the top of the
Humidifier and slide the PAP device
forward until the nose cone is inside the
humidifier body (Image f).
3. To power the Humidifier, plug the power
supply cord into the back of the device,
then connect the power supply to a wall
outlet. The leftmost LED will turn solid
green indicating power to the Humidifier
(Image g)*
4. Separately power the PAP device as
described in its User Manual. The PAP
device may be powered via wall (main)
power, Transcend battery, or Transcend
Mobile Power Adaptor.
5. Start therapy by pressing the Power button
on the PAP device. Air flow from the PAP
device will automatically turn on the
Humidifier.
6. The Humidifier will begin warming
automatically. The middle green LED will
turnonindicatingthattheHumidifieriswarming.Itwilltakeapproximately60minutes
fortheHumidifiertoreachitsmaximumheatingtemperature(Imageh).
Note: If a fault has occurred with the Humidifier, all three LEDs will begin to flash. Please
refer to the Transcend Heated Humidifier User Manual for more information.
Note: WhenthereservoirisemptyorhasbeendetachedfromtheHumidifier,thethirdLED
will turn red.
7. Adjust the heat setting of the Humidifier by using the Settings Knob located on the back
of the Humidifier. If a heat setting has been recommended by your healthcare provider,
begin at that setting and adjust the dial up or down to reach your desired comfort level
(Image h).
8. The0settingwillturntheHumidifierheatingfunctionoff.Ifyouturntheheatsettingtothe
0setting,itmustbereturnedtoahighersettingtoresumeheatedhumidification.
9. To stop PAP therapy, simply press the Power button on the Transcend PAP device. The
Humidifier will stop automatically.
*The Humidifier may only be powered by the AC power supply.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
1. Unplug the Humidifier from the wall outlet
and allow it to cool to the touch.
2. Remove the PAP device by pulling it
backward, sliding it out of the guide slots of
the Humidifier (Image i).

a. Periodic Cleaning:CleantheexterioroftheHumidifierasneeded.Useamixof5%mild
liquiddetergentindistilledwater(1.6floz.liquiddetergentperquartofdistilledwater).This
will clean away surface residue.
• Submergealint-freecottonclothintothedetergentsolution.
• WipetheexterioroftheHumidifierusingagentle,backandforthwipingmotion
from
the front to back of the device.
• Rinsetheclothinclearwatertoremoveresidualcleaningsolution.
• WringexcesswaterfromthecloththenwipetheHumidifierusingagentlefrontto
back wiping motion to remove any detergent solution remaining on its surface.
• Wipethedevicewithadry,lint-freecottonclothuntilthedeviceisfullydry
b. Daily Cleaning: Follow the instructions
belowtocleantheWaterReservoir.
•RemoveWaterReserviorfromthe
Humidifier Body and open the Fill
Cap (Image j).
• FilltheReservoirtothemaximum
watermarkwithasolutionof5%mild
liquid detergent in distilled water. (1.6
floz.liquiddetergentperquartof

• ReplaceFillCap.
• Covertheoutputportwithyourhand
and gently shake the Reservoir back
and forth
for10seconds.

MISE EN ROUTE
Important : il est important de placer l’humidicateur sur une surface stable et plane, proche de
votre lit. Il est déconseillé de placer l’humidicateur sur une surface sensible à l’eau. L’humidicateur
doitêtresituéplusbasquevouslorsquevousdormezand’empêcherlaformationdecondensation
dans le masque.
REMPLISSAGE DU RÉSERVOIR D’EAU
1. Retirez le réservoir d’eau de l’humidicateur en
le tirant (imagea).
2. Retirez le bouchon de remplissage (imageb) et
remplissezsoigneusementleréservoirjusqu'à
la ligne de niveau MAX avec de l’eau propre et
fraîche (imagec).
3. Replacez le bouchon de remplissage et
repositionnez le réservoir d’eau dans
l’humidicateur (imaged).
DÉMARRAGE ET FIN DU TRAITEMENT
1.
Raccordez le tuyau d’alimentation en air à
l’humidicateur. Assurez-vous que votre masque
est correctement xé à l’autre extrémité du
tuyau d’alimentation en air (image e).
Remarque : 6 tuyau à air à pied standard est
fourni avec le Sleep Apnea système Starter
Transcend. Si vous avez utilisé l'appareil de
pression positive sans l'humidificateur,
l'adaptateur de tuyau universel doit être retiré de
la tubulure d'air de 6 pieds avant de l'utiliser.

2. Placez l’appareil PAP dans les encoches
correspondantes, au niveau de la partie
supérieure de l’humidicateur, puis faites
glisserl’appareilPAPversl’avantjusqu’à
ce que la buse conique de nez soit engagée
à l'intérieur du corps de l'humidicateur
(image f).
3. Pour allumer l'humidicateur, insérez le
cordon au dos de l'appareil, puis branchez
l'alimentation dans une prise murale.
Le voyant le plus à gauche s'allume en vert
constant pour indiquer que l'humidicateur
est sous tension (image g)*.
4. Alimentez l’appareil PAP séparément, comme
indiqué dans son manuel d'utilisation.
L'appareil PAPpeutêtrealimentésursecteur
(prise murale), par une batterie Transcend
ou par un adaptateur mobile Transcend.
5. Démarrez le traitement en appuyant
sur l’interrupteur de l’appareil PAP.
L'air provenant de l'appareil PAP met
automatiquement en route l'humidicateur.
6. L’humidicateur commence automatiquement
à chauffer. Le voyant vert du milieu s'allume
pour indiquer que l'humidicateur chauffe. Il faut environ 60minutes avant que
l’humidicateur n’atteigne sa température de chauffage maximale (image h).
Remarque : en cas de défaillance de l'humidicateur, les trois voyants se mettent à clignoter.
Veuillez vous reporter au manuel d’utilisation de l'humidicateur chauffant Transcend
pour plus d’informations.
Remarque : lorsque le réservoir est vide ou n'est plus relié à l'humidicateur, le troisième voyant
devient rouge.
7. Ajustezlesparamètresdechaleurdel’humidicateuràl’aideduboutonderéglagesituéau
dos de l’appareil. Si un prestataire de soins vous a recommandé un paramètre de chaleur,
débutez avec ce paramètre et augmentez ou réduisez la valeur à l’aide des boutons pour
atteindre le niveau de confort souhaité (Image h).
8. Le paramètre 0 permet de désactiver la fonction de chauffage de l’humidicateur. Si vous
réglezlavaleurdechaleursurlaposition0,cettevaleurdoitêtreaugmentéepourreprendre
l'humidication chauffante.
9. PourarrêterletraitementPAP,appuyezsimplementsurl’interrupteurdel’appareilPAP
Transcend.L’humidicateurs’arrêteautomatiquement.

NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN
1. Débranchez l’humidicateur de la prise murale
et laissez-le refroidir.
2. Enlevez l'appareil PAP en le faisant glisser vers
l'arrière hors des encoches de l'humidicateur
(image i).

a. Nettoyage périodique: Nettoyez l’extérieur de l’humidicateur dans la mesure requise.
Mélangez 5% de détergent liquide doux à de l’eau distillée (48ml de détergent liquide par litre
d’eau distillée). Ce mélange nettoiera les résidus de la surface.
• Plongezunchiffonencotonnonpelucheuxdanslasolutiondétergente.
• Essuyezl'extérieurdel'humidicateur,avecdesmouvementsdouxdel’avantversl’arrière
de l'appareil.
• Rincezlechiffonàl’eauclaireanderetirerlesrésidusdelasolutiondétergente.
• Essorezlechiffonetessuyezl’humidicateurenfrottantdoucementdemanièreàretirer
les restes de solution détergente de la surface de l’appareil.
• Àl’aided’unchiffonsec,encotonetnonpelucheux,séchezcomplètementl’appareil.
b. Nettoyage quotidien: Suivez les instructions
ci-dessous pour nettoyer le réservoir d'eau.
•Retirer réservoir d'eau du corps de
l'humidificateur et ouvrir le bouchon
de remplissage(imagej).
• Remplissezleréservoirjusqu'àlamarque
du niveau d'eau maximal d'une solution
d'eau distillée et de 5% d'un détergent
liquide doux. (soit 50 ml de détergent
liquide par litre d'eau distillé) (image k).
• Réinstallezlebouchonderemplissage.
• Couvrezl'oricedesortieaveclamainet
agitez doucement le réservoir d'avant en
arrière pendant 10 secondes.

• Retirezlebouchondel'oricededrainage
et faites sortir la solution (image l).
• Réinstallezlebouchondel'oricede

soigneusement l'intérieur du réservoir
à l'eau claire.
• Retirezlebouchondel'oricededrainage
pour vider le réservoir.
Remarque : Répétez les étapes afin d'enlever
l'excès de solution.
• Réinstallezleréservoirdanslecorpsde
l'humidicateur (image m).
• Pourséchercomplètementleréservoir,
activez le «mode de séchage»en
maintenant enfoncés le bouton de phase
d'augmentation puis l'interrupteur de
l'appareil PAP Transcend. Le mode de
séchage dure environ 30 minutes puis
s'arrêteautomatiquement (image n).
Remarque : assurez-vous que l'appareil PAP
Transcend et l'humidicateur sont bien alimentés.
• Remplissezleréservoird'eaudistillé
avant l'utilisation suivante.

c. Entretien hebdomadaire: inspectez le réservoir d’eau et le bouchon de remplissage
pour détecter une éventuelle usure ou détérioration. Si le réservoir commence à fuir,
remplacez-le immédiatement par un nouveau réservoir. Contactez votre revendeur
d’équipements médicaux ou appelez le service client de Somnetics au 1-877-621-9626
pour obtenir une assistance.

Wichtig: Es ist wichtig, den Befeuchter auf eine feste, ebene Oberäche in der Nähe Ihres Bettes
aufzustellen. Wir empfehlen, ihn nicht auf eine Oberäche zu stellen, die durch Wasser beschädigt
werden könnte. Er sollte sich auf einer Höhe benden, die niedriger als Ihre Schlafposition ist, um
Kondensierung in der Maske zu verhindern.
FÜLLEN DES WASSERBEHÄLTERS
1. Nehmen Sie den Wasserbehälter vom
Befeuchterab,indemSieihnnachaußen

2) und füllen Sie den Wasserbehälter bis zur

START UND ENDE DER THERAPIE
1.
Bringen Sie den Luftzuführungsschlauch am
Befeuchter an. Stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihre
Maske sicher am gegenüberliegenden Ende
des Luftzuführungsschlauches befestigt ist
(Abbildung e).
Hinweis: Standard 6 Fuß Luftschlauch wird mit
dem Transcend Schlafapnoe Startanlage geliefert.
Wenn Sie wurden mit dem PAP-Gerät ohne
Luftbefeuchter, muss der universelle Schlauch-
Adapter aus der 6 Fuß Beatmungsschlauch entfernt
werden, bevor verwenden.
