1. Umgang mit der Betriebsanleitung
Die Betriebsanleitung muss ständig an dem
Werkzeug verfügbar sein.
Jeder, der mit Arbeiten an dem Werkzeug
beauftragt ist, muss die Betriebsanleitung kennen
und beachten.
Die Firma Tyco Electronics lehnt jede Haftung für
Schaden ab, der durch Nichtbeachten von
Hinweisen an dem Werkzeug oder in der
Betriebsanleitung entsteht.
Die Betriebsanleitung ist vom Benutzer des
Werkzeugs um Anweisungen aufgrund bestehender
nationaler Vorschriften zur Unfallverhütung und
zum Umweltschutz zu ergänzen.
2. Grundlegende Sicherheitshinweise
Das Werkzeug ist nach dem Stand der Technik und
den anerkannten sicherheitstechnischen Regeln
gebaut.
Beim Ausführen von Arbeiten, wie Aufstellen, Inbe-
triebnehmen, Einrichten, Betreiben, Ändern der
Einsatzbedingungen und Betriebsweisen, Warten
und Instandhalten des Werkzeugs, sind die in der
Betriebsanleitung vorgeschriebenen Ausschalt-
prozeduren zu beachten.
2.1 Zuständigkeit
Das Werkzeug darf nur von ausgebildetem und
autorisiertem Personal betrieben werden. Die
Zuständigkeit des Personals für Bedienen, Rüsten,
Warten und Instandhalten ist vom Benutzer des
Werkzeugs klar festzulegen und einzuhalten.
Insbesondere ist die Zuständigkeit für Arbeiten an
der elektrischen und pneumatischen Ausrüstung
festzulegen. Solche Arbeiten bleiben nur
ausgebildeten Fachleuten vorbehalten.
Eigenmächtige Veränderungen an dem Werkzeug
schließen eine Haftung des Herstellers bzw.
Lieferers für daraus resultierende Schäden aus.
2.2 Hinweise zum Einrichten und
Betreiben des Werkzeugs
Das Werkzeug darf nur in technisch einwandfreiem
Zustand sowie sicherheits- und gefahrenbewusst

The operating manual must be constantly within
reach of the tool.
Each person entrusted with the job of operating the
tool must be familiar with the operating manual and
strictly observe the instructions therein.
Tyco Electronics decline to accept any liability for
damages that are incurred due to the fact that the
instructions on the tool or in the operating manual
have been disregarded.
The user is responsible for supplementing the
operating manual with any instructions resulting
from current national regulations for accident
prevention and protection of the environment.
2. Basic safety instructions
The tool has been constructed according to state-
of-the-art technology and the acknowledged
technical safety regulations.
When carrying out jobs such as installation,
commissioning, set-up, operation, changing the
conditions of use and the mode of operation or
carrying out maintenance and service jobs, it is
important to observe the procedures for switching
off the tool described in the operating manual.
2.1 Responsibilities
The tool may only be operated by suitably trained
and authorized personnel.
The user must clearly define and observe the
responsibilities of the personnel for operation, set-
up, maintenance and service.
It is particularly important to define who is
responsible for work on the electrical and
pneumatic equipment. Such work should only be
carried out by specially trained staff.
Should the user make any changes to the tool
without consulting the manufacturers or the
suppliers, the latter will not be liable for any damage
that may result.
2.2 Notes on setting up and
operating the tool
The tool may only be set up and operated inperfect
technical condition, observing all the

eingerichtet und betrieben werden.
Vor jeder Inbetriebnahme ist zu prüfen, ob alle
Sicherheitsvorrichtungen, insbesondere Schutz-
abdeckungen, angebracht sind und einwandfrei
funktionieren.
Schutzabdeckungen dürfen nur bei Stillstand und
elektrisch ausgeschaltetem Werkzeug entfernt wer-
den. Insbesondere Gehäuse und Abdeckungen
dürfen nur von fachkundigem Personal entfernt
werden.
Achtung:
Beim Berühren von stromführenden Teilen besteht
Lebensgefahr!
Wenn anzunehmen ist, dass sich das Werkzeug
nicht mehr gefahrlos betreiben lässt, ist es außer
Betrieb zu setzen und gegen unbeabsichtigtes
Einschalten zu sichern.
Das Werkzeug ist ausschließlich für den in der
Betriebsanleitung beschriebenen Zweck zu
verwenden.
Für Schäden, die aus nicht bestimmungsgemäßer
Verwendung entstehen, haftet der Hersteller bzw.
Lieferer nicht: das Risiko hierfür trägt allein der
Benutzer.
2.3 Hinweise zum Warten und
Instandhalten des Werkzeugs
Werkzeug- und Anlagenteile, an denen Wartungs-
und Instandsetzungsarbeiten durchgeführt werden,
müssen, falls in der Betriebsanleitung nichts
Gegenteiliges erwähnt ist, unbedingt von der
Spannungszufuhr getrennt werden.
Die freigeschalteten Teile müssen zuerst auf Span-
nungsfreiheit geprüft, dann geerdet und kurz-
geschlossen, sowie benachbarte, unter Spannung
stehende Teile isoliert werden.
Die elektrische Ausrüstung des Werkzeugs ist
regelmäßig zu prüfen. Mängel, wie z.B. lose
Verbindungen oder angeschmorte Kabel, sind
unverzüglich zu beseitigen.
Sind Arbeiten an spannungsführenden Teilen
notwendig, ist eine zweite Person hinzuzuziehen,
die im Notfall je nach Notwendigkeit den Not Aus-
bzw. den Hauptschalter betätig oder die
Spannungszufuhr zum Werkzeug unterbricht. Es ist
ausschließlich spannungsisoliertes Werkzeug zu
benutzen!

Safety covers may only be removed when the tool
is not in operation and has been disconnected from
the electricity supply. The housing and the covers in

Attention:
Touching live parts can cause danger of
electrocution with fatal consequences!
If you suspect that the tool cannot be operated
safely, it must be switched off and secured against
anyone accidentally switching it on.
The tool may only be used for the purpose specified
in the operating manual.
The manufacturers and suppliers will not be liable
for any damages which may result due to the tool
being used for a purpose other than that for which it
was intended. This is done entirely at the user’s
own risk.
2.3 Notes on service and maintenance
It is absolutely essential that tool and equipment
parts on which maintenance or service jobs have to
be carried out are disconnected from the electricity
supply, unless anything to the contrary is stated in
the operating manual.
The disconnected parts must first be checked to
ensure that they no longer carry any current; then
they must be earthed and short-circuited. Adjacent
parts carrying current must be insulated.
The electrical equipment of the tool must be
checked regularly, faults such as loose connections
or scorched cables must be removed immediately.
If it should be necessary to carry out work on parts
which carry current, it is important to engage the
assistance of a second person who, in cases of
emergency, can operate the emergency stop or the
main switch or can cut off the electricity supply to
the tool. Only insulated tools should be used!

3. Verwendungszweck
Mit der Mini CERTI-LOK Handzange lassen sich
Crimpverbindungen zwischen 4,2mm PE-Kontakten
und Einzelleitungen herstellen.
Die in Tabelle 1 aufgeführten Kontakte der Fa. Tyco
Electronics können mit der Handzange verarbeitet
werden.

3. Intended use
The hand pliers Mini CERTI-LOK are used to
produce crimp connections between 4,2mm PE-
contacts and single-conductors.
The Tyco Electronics contacts listed in table 1 may
be processed with the hand pliers.

6. Installation
1. Als Erstes werden die beiden Verriegelungsstifte
des Handgriffs ganz heraus gezogen (siehe
Abbildung 3).

2. Jetzt wird der Crimpkopf (PN 2-1579021-8) von
oben auf den Handgriff gesetzt und durch
Eindrücken der Verriegelungsstifte fixiert (siehe
Foto 3).

1. At first both locking pins of the handle need to be
pulled out completely (see figure 3).

2. Now the crimp head (pn 2-1579021-8) is put on
to the handle from above and locked by pushing in
the locking pins (see photo 3).

3. Die Handzange ist nun einsatzbereit!
7. Einlegen der Kontakte
1. Um die Kontakte einlegen zu können, muss die
Kontaktaufnahme nach vorne geschwenkt werden
(siehe Abbildung 5).

Die Kontakte werden so eingelegt, dass die
Crimpflanken aus der Kontaktaufnahme
herausschauen und die flachen Seiten beim
einschwenken auf den Ambossen liegen (siehe
Abbildung 6).

7. Inserting the contacts
1. In order to insert the contacts, the contact holder
needs to be swivelled out to the front (see figure5).

2. The contacts are placed in such a way, that the
crimp flanks look out of the holder and the flat
surface comes to rest on the anvils when the holder
is swivelled back (see figure 6).

3. Nun wird die Kontaktaufnahme wieder
zurückgeschwenkt, wobei darauf zu achten ist,
dass die Handzange vorher komplett zu öffnen ist
(siehe Abbildung 7 und 8).

8. Bedienen
1. Der Handgriff der Zange wird zuerst nur leicht
geschlossen bis der Kontakt in der Einlaufschräge
des Crimpprofils gehalten wird. Danach wird der
Leiter bis zum Isolationsstopblech eingeschoben
(siehe Abbildung 9).

2. Nun muss das Kabel in dieser Position gehalten
und gleichzeitig der Handgriff mit gleichmäßiger
Geschwindigkeit geschlossen werden. Die
integrierte Ratsche verhindert ein vorzeitiges
Öffnen und garantiert, dass die Kontakte mit der
richtigen Kraft angeschlagen werden.
Hinweis:
Bei einer Fehlbedienung kann die Handzange
durch Entriegeln der integrierten Ratsche auch
vorzeitig geöffnet werden. Hierzu wird der Griff
leicht zusammengedrückt und gleichzeitig der
Rasthebel gelöst (eventuell mit Hilfe eines
Schraubendrehers). Danach kann der Griff
vollständig geöffnet werden (siehe Abbildung 10)

8. Operation
1. At first the handle needs to be closed slightly until
the contact is held in the inlet bevel of the crimping
profile. Then the wire is inserted as far as the
insulation stop plate (see figure9).

2. Now the cable must be held in this position and
at the same time the handle must be closed
consistently. The integrated ratchet prevents
premature opening and guarantees that the
contacts are crimped with the correct force.
Note:
In case of an operating fault the hand pliers can be
opened prematurely by unlocking the integrated
ratchet. Therefore the handle is slightly pressed
together and at the same time the locking lever is
released (possibly with the help of a screwdriver).
After that the handle can be opened fully (see figure
10).

3. Zum Schluss wird der Handgriff wieder geöffnet,
die Kontaktaufnahme leicht nach Vorn geschwenkt
und das Kabel mit den angeschlagenen Kontakten
kann entnommen werden (siehe Abbildung 11)

9. Wartung und Instandhaltung
Das Werkzeug muss vor Arbeitsbeginn in einem
ordnungsgemäßen und sauberen Zustand sein.
Rückstände sind zu entfernen.
Die Gelenke sind regelmäßig mit leichtem
Feinmechanikeröl zu ölen und vor Verschmutzung
zu schützen.
Wird die Zange nicht mehr benötigt, ist sie trocken
und sauber in dem vorgesehenen Koffer zu lagern.
3. In the end the handle is opened, the contact
holder is swivelled slightly out to the front and the
cable with the crimped contacts can be removed
(see figure 11).

9. Maintenance and preventive
maintenance
Prior to operation the tool must be in a proper and
clean condition. Any residues should be removed.
The joints should be oiled regularly with a light
precision mechanics oil and protected against
soiling.
Once the hand tool is no longer required it should
be stored, dry and clean, in the case provided.
