The radios operate on GMRS frequencies that require

BATTERY INSTALLATION
Your radio operates with either a NiMH battery pack
or 3 AAA alkaline batteries. The belt clip should be
removed (see below) to ease installation or removal of
the batteries.
To install the batteries:
1. With the back of the radio facing you, remove the
belt clip for easy access; then, remove the battery
cover by pressing down on the top center and
sliding it down from the radio. (See Figure 1)
2. Insert NiMH battery pack or 3 AAA batteries,
observing the polarity. Installing the batteries
incorrectly will prevent the unit from operating or
may damage the unit.
3. Return the battery cover by sliding it up on the radio.
Replace the belt clip, making sure it locks into place.
(See Figure 2)
INSTALLING THE BELT CLIP
To install the belt clip, slide the clip down into the slot
on the back of the radio until the belt clip latch clicks.
To remove the belt clip, pull the lock tab away from the
radio, then gently pull the belt clip up toward the top of
the radio. (See Figure 2)
CHARGING THE BATTERIES
Your radios are equipped for using a rechargeable
NiMH battery pack (BATT3R) which can be recharged
by inserting one end of the USB Cable into a USB power
source, and the other end into the radio USB charging
jack, or with the optional desktop charger (as described
below). While charging, the battery meter will flash
from 1 to 3 bars. The LCD display will show FULL when
charging is complete. For maximum battery life, charge
the battery pack when the low battery icon comes on.
Remove the radios from the charger when charging is
finished.
NOTE: In order to ensure that the battery pack
is fully charged, it is recommended that the
battery pack be charged with the radio turned
off.
CAUTION! Only use the approved NiMH battery
pack.
CAUTION! Do not attempt to charge alkaline
batteries or any batteries or battery packs
other than the one indicated in the manual.
This may cause leakage and damage to the
radio.
CAUTION! For long term storage of the radio,
turn the radio off and remove the batteries
from the radio.
BATTERY LEVEL INDICATOR
Your radio has a battery level meter icon that
shows the battery power level. The greater the number
of bars visible, the stronger the battery level. When
the battery level is low, the battery shell icon
and "bt Lo" will flash in the display indicating your
batteries should be replaced or recharged if using a
rechargeable battery pack.

OPERATION
POWER ON/OFF AND VOLUME
Press the MENU/button for at least three seconds to
turn the radio on/off. During power on, the radio will
beep two times with different tones, the LCD will display
several icons for one second and then the LCD display
will indicate the last channel selected.
To increase/decrease the volume level, press the ▲\▼
buttons during RX or standby mode.
RESTORING YOUR RADIO TO THE
ORIGINAL SETTING
To reset your radio to the original (default) setting, turn
on the radio while pressing and holding the ▲button.
The LCD display will reset to standby mode on channel 1
with no privacy code.
TRANSMITTING AND RECEIVING A CALL
To communicate, all radios in your group must be set to
the same channel and/or privacy code.
1. For maximum clarity, hold the radio at least 1" from
your mouth.
2. Press and hold the PTT button and speak in a normal
voice into the microphone. The TX icon will appear
continuously on the LCD display while transmitting.
3. To receive a call, release the PTT button. The RX
icon will appear on the display when your radio is
receiving a transmission.
ABOUT RANGE
Your radios are designed to give you maximum range
under optimum conditions. (See Figure 3)
OPTIMUM CONDITIONS ARE:
• Over water
• Open rural areas without obstructions
• Flat areas where you can see the other person
TO ENSURE MAXIMUM RANGE:
• Be sure to use fresh or fully charged batteries – low
batteries will cause low power conditions.
• Be sure you are on a GMRS channel – FRS channels
are restricted by the FCC to low power.
• Be sure to set your radio to use Hi power.
T50 SERIES QUICK REFERENCE CHART
MONITOR
Pressing and holding the MON/SCAN button for three
seconds will let you hear noise so you can adjust the
volume level of the radio when not receiving a signal. This
could also be used to check any activity on your current
channel before transmitting. Press and hold the MON/SCAN
button for three seconds again to get out of monitor mode.
SCAN
Your radio can scan all 22 channels for activity. To enter,
quickly press the MON/SCAN button. Repeat the same
procedure to exit. Your radio will rapidly scan each of
the 22 channels and stop on any active channel for six
seconds before resuming scan. When you press the PTT
button to transmit on an active channel, the scanning
function will stop and remain on the active channel. To
resume scanning, quickly press the MON/SCAN button.
CALL ALERT
Your radio can transmit a call alert. To send a call alert,
press the /CALL button. The TX icon will appear while
transmitting a call alert and a tone can be heard on
the speaker for confirmation.

KEYPAD LOCK
To avoid accidentally changing the radio setting, press
the /CALL button for three seconds. The icon will
appear on the display. PTT and CALL will still be active.
Repeat the same procedure to unlock the keypad.
CHANNEL SELECTION (GMRS/FRS BAND)
Press the MENU/ button once, and then the ▲\▼
buttons to select one of the 22 GMRS/FRS channels.
To confirm the selection, press the PTT button or press
the MENU/ button again to move to the next feature
setting.
SETTING PRIVACY CODES
Your radio has 38 privacy codes available. The selected
privacy code may be different for each channel. To
select a privacy code for the current channel press
the MENU/ button twice, and then the ▲\▼buttons
to select one of the 38 CTCSS Codes. The privacy
code icon on the display will indicate CTCSS mode.
To confirm the selection, press the PTT button or press
the MENU/ button again to move to the next feature
setting.
NOTE: Selecting a privacy code of "oF" will
disable the privacy feature. To communicate
between two radios, all radios in your group
must be set to the same channel and/or
privacy code selections.
VOX
Your radio has 3 VOX level settings: (oF/1-3). To set VOX,
press the MENU/ button until the display shows
"VOX."
On the right of the channel number display, an "oF" icon
appears. Select 1 - 3 by pressing the ▲\▼buttons and
push the PTT key, or press the MENU/ button again
to move to the next feature setting. VOX will be more
sensitive on the lower setting than on the higher setting.
To turn VOX off, press the MENU/ button until the
display shows "VOX." On the right of the channel number
display, a 1 - 3 icon appears. Select "oF" by pressing the
▲\▼buttons and push the PTT key, or press the MENU/
button again to move to the next feature setting.
ROGER BEEP (END OF TRANSMISSION) TONE
When the PTT button is released, the radio will beep to
confirm to other users that your transmission has finished.
To set the roger beep tone, press the MENU/ button
until the display shows an "rb" icon. Select "on" or "oF" by
pressing the ▲\▼buttons and push the PTT key, or press
the MENU/ button to move to the next feature setting.
SILENT OPERATION
Your radio has a silent operation mode. In this mode, all
beeps and tones are disabled. To set silent operation,
press the MENU/ button until the display shows a "bP"
icon. Select "on" or "oF" by pressing the ▲\▼buttons and
push the PTT key or MENU/ button.
NOAA WEATHER RADIO
Your radio has a NOAA weather radio function to enable
the user to receive weather reports from designated NOAA
stations. To turn the NOAA weather radio on, press and
hold the ▲/WX button for 5 seconds while in GMRS mode.
The radio will go to WX band mode. To set the channel on
the WX band, press the MENU/ button and the display
will show the current WX band channel setting. While
on WX band mode, press the ▲\▼buttons to select one
of the 10 NOAA weather (WX) band channels. To confirm,
press the PTT button or press the MENU/ button to move
to the next feature setting. To turn the NOAA weather radio
off, press the PTT button. The current GMRS/FRS radio setting
will be displayed and the icon will go off.
NOAA WEATHER ALERT
Your radio has a NOAA weather alert function, which
enables you to automatically receive weather alerts
from designated NOAA stations. To turn the NOAA weather
(WX) alert on during normal NOAA weather radio mode,
press the MENU/ button twice while in NOAA weather
radio mode. The display shows "AL," while on the right an
"oF" icon appears. Select "on" by pressing the ▲\▼ buttons.
To confirm, press the PTT button or press MENU/ . The
radio will return to WX band and the icon will continue
blinking. If the radio receives a WX alert signal from a
designated NOAA station while on GMRS/FRS radio mode,
the radio will beep for 20 seconds while the display will
automatically go to WX band. To turn the NOAA weather
(WX) alert off, press the MENU/ button twice while in WX
band. The display shows "AL," while on the right an "on"
icon appears. Select "oF" by pressing the ▲\▼ buttons. To
confirm, press the PTT button or press MENU/ .
EXTERNAL SPEAKER/MICROPHONE JACK
Your radio can be used with an
optional external speaker/microphone
or headset, freeing your hands for
other tasks. To use an optional speaker,
microphone or headset:
• Insert the plug(s) into the
SPK/MIC jacks. (See Figure 4)
• Place the earbud into your ear
and adjust the mic into your
desired position.

MAINTENANCE

1. Use a soft damp cloth to clean the radio.
CAUTION! Do not use alcohol or cleaning
solutions to clean the radio.

2. Dry the radio with a dry lint-free cloth should it
get wet.
3. Turn off the radio and remove the batteries during
long-term storage.

INSTALACIÓN DE LA BATERÍA
Su radio funciona ya sea con un paquete de baterías
NiMH o 3 baterías AAA alcalinas. El clip para cinturón se
debe remover (vea abajo) para facilitar la instalación o
retirar las baterías.
Para instalar las baterías:
1. Con el respaldo del radio hacia usted, retire el clip
para cinturón para facilitar el acceso; luego, retire
la cubierta de las baterías presionando en la parte
central superior y deslizándola hacia abajo.

2. Inserte el paquete de las baterías NiMH o las 3 AAA,

Para instalar el clip para cinturón, deslice hacia
abajo el clip en la ranura de la parte trasera del radio
hasta que el seguro del clip haga clic. Para retirar el
clip para cinturón, retire la pestaña de bloqueo del
clip, luego jale suavemente hacia arriba el clip para
cinturón. (Vea Diagrama 2)
CARGAR LAS BATERÍAS
Sus radios están equipados para usar un paquete
recargable NiMH (BATT3R) las cuales se pueden
recargar insertando la entrada del cable USB, y el cable
USB al enchufe de electricidad, o con el cargador
opcional para la computadora (como se describe
abajo). Mientras está cargando, el medidor de batería
parpadeará de 1 a 3 barras. La pantalla LCD mostrará
FULL cuando termine de cargar. Para maximizar la vida
de la batería, cambie el paquete de baterías cuando
aparezca el icono de batería baja. Retire los radios del
cargador cuando termine de cargar.
NOTA: Para asegurar que el paquete de la
batería está completamente cargado, se
recomienda que el paquete de baterías se
recargue con el radio apagado.
¡PRECAUCIÓN! Solo use el paquete de baterías
aprobado NiMH.
¡PRECAUCIÓN! No intente recargar las baterías
alcalinas, cualquier otro tipo de baterías
o paquetes de baterías que no sean las
indicadas en el manual. Esto podría ocasionar
filtración y averiar el radio.
¡PRECAUCIÓN! Para almacenar el radio por
periodos largos, apáguelo y retire las baterías
del radio.
INDICADOR DEL NIVEL DE BATERÍA
Su radio tiene un icono medidor del nivel de batería
que muestra el nivel de la batería. Entre más
barras sean visibles, mayor será el nivel de la batería.
Cuando el nivel de la batería es bajo, parpadeará en
la pantalla el casquillo de la batería y "bt Lo",
lo que indica que sus baterías se deben reemplazar
o recargar, si está utilizando un paquete de baterías
recargables.

ENCENDIDO/APAGADO Y VOLUMEN
Oprima el botón MENU/al menos por tres segundos
para encender/apagar el radio. Durante el encendido,
el radio pitará dos veces con diferentes tonos, la
pantalla LCD mostrará varios iconos por un segundo y
luego esta indicará el último canal seleccionado.
Para subir/bajar el nivel del volumen, oprima los
botones ▲\▼durante el modo RX o de espera.
RESTAURAR SU RADIO A LA
CONFIGURACIÓN ORIGINAL
Para restaurar su radio a la configuración original
(predeterminada), encienda el radio mientras mantenga
oprimido el botón ▲. La pantalla LCD se reajustará al
modo de espera en el canal 1 sin código de privacidad.
TRANSMITIR Y RECIBIR UNA LLAMADA
Para comunicarse, todos los radios en su grupo se
deben ajustar al mismo canal o código de privacidad.
1. Para maximizar la claridad, sostenga el radio al
menos a 2.5 cm (1") de su boca.
2. Mantenga oprimido el botón PTT y hable en voz
normal al micrófono. El icono TX aparecerá en
forma continua en la pantalla LCD al transmitir.
3. Para recibir una llamada, suelte el botón PTT. El
icono RX aparecerá en la pantalla cuando su radio

Sus radios están diseñados para brindarle máxima
cobertura en condiciones óptimas (Vea Figura 3)
LAS CONDICIONES ÓPTIMAS SON:
• Sobre agua
• Áreas abiertas rurales sin obstrucciones
• Áreas llanas donde pueda ver a la otra persona
PARA GARANTIZAR LA COBERTURA MÁXIMA:

MONITOREAR
Mantener oprimido el botón MON/SCAN le permitirá
escuchar ruido de modo que pueda ajustar el nivel de
volumen de la radio cuando no reciba señal. También
se puede utilizar para verificar cualquier actividad en
su canal actual antes de transmitir. Vuelva a mantener
oprimido el botón MON/SCAN por tres segundos para salir
del modo de monitoreo.
ESCANEAR
Su radio puede escanear los 22 canales para detectar
actividad. Para entrar, oprima rápidamente el botón
MON/SCAN. Repita el mismo procedimiento para
salir. Su radio escaneará rápidamente cada uno
de los 22 canales y se detendrá en cualquier canal
activo por seis segundos antes de resumir el escaneo.
Cuando usted oprima el botón PTT para transmitir en
un canal activo, la función de escaneo se detendrá
y se quedará en el canal activo. Para continuar
escaneando, oprima rápidamente el botón MON/SCAN.
ALERTA DE LLAMADA
Su radio puede transmitir una alerta de llamada. Para
envíar una alerta de llamada, oprima el botón /CALL.
El icono TX aparecerá mientras transmita una alerta de
llamada y se puede escuchar un tono en la bocina
para confirmar.

BLOQUEO DE TECLADO
Para evitar cambiar la configuración de radio por
accidente, oprima el botón /CALL por tres segundos.
El icono aparecerá en la pantalla. PTT y CALL
seguirán activos. Repita el mismo procedimiento para
desbloquear el teclado.
SELECCIÓN DE CANAL (BANDA GMRS/FRS)
Oprima el botón MENU/ una vez y luego los botones ▲\▼
para seleccionar uno de los 22 canales GMRS/FRS. Para
confirmar la selección, oprima el botón PTT o vuelva
a oprimir el botón MENU/ para moverse al próximo
ajuste.
FIJAR CÓDIGOS DE PRIVACIDAD
Su radio cuenta con 38 códigos de privacidad disponibles.
El código de privacidad seleccionado podría ser diferente
para cada canal. Para seleccionar un código de
privacidad para el canal actual, oprima el botón
MENU/ dos veces y luego los botones ▲\▼para
seleccionar uno de los 38 Códigos CTCSS. El icono del
código de privacidad en la pantalla indicará el modo
CTCSS. Para confirmar la selección, oprima el botón PTT
o vuelva a oprimir el botón MENU/ para moverse al
próximo ajuste.
NOTA: Seleccionar un código de privacidad de
"oF" desactivará la función de privacidad. Para
comunicarse entre dos radios, todas las radios
en su grupo se deben ajustar al mismo canal
y/o selecciones de código de privacidad.
VOX
Su radio cuenta con 3 configuraciones de nivel de
VOX: (oF/1-3). Para ajustar VOX, oprima el botón MENU/
hasta que la pantalla muestre "VOX". A la derecha de la
pantalla del número de canal aparece un icono
"oF". Seleccione 1 - 3 oprimiendo los botones ▲\▼y
oprima la tecla PTT o vuelva a oprimir el botón MENU/
ara moverse al próximo ajuste. VOX será más sensible
en la configuración más baja que en la más alta. Para
apagar VOX, oprima el botón MENU/ hasta que la
pantalla muestre "VOX." A la derecha de la pantalla del
número de canal aparece un icono 1 - 3. Seleccione
"oF" oprimiendo los botones ▲\▼y presione la tecla
PTT o vuelva a oprimar el botón MENU/ y muévase al
próximo ajuste.
ONO DE SONIDO ROGER (FIN DE TRANSMISIÓN)
Cuando suelte el botón PTT, la radio sonará para
confirmarle a otros usuarios que su transmisión ha
terminado. Para fijar el tono roger, oprima el botón
MENU/ hasta que la pantalla muestre un icono "rb".
Seleccione "on" u "oF" oprimiendo los botones ▲\▼y

OPERACIÓN SILENCIOSA
Su radio cuenta con un modo de funcionamiento
silencioso. En este modo se desactivan todos los
sonidos y tonos. Para fijar el funcionamiento silencioso,
oprima el botón MENU/ hasta que la pantalla muestre
un icono"bP". Seleccione "on" u "oF" oprimiendo los

RADIO METEOROLÓGICA NOAA
Su radio cuenta con la función de estación del clima
NOAA que permite al usuario recibir reportes del tiempo
de emisoras designadas del NOAA. Para encender la
radio del Clima NOAA , mantenga oprimido el botón
▲/WX por cinco segundos en modo GMRS. El radio
luego cambiará al modo de banda WX. Para fijar el
canal en la banda WX, oprima el botón MENU/ y la
pantalla mostrará la configuración actual del canal
de la banda WX. Mientras el radio esté en el modo de
banda WX, oprima los botones ▲\▼para seleccionar
uno de los 10 canales de la Estación del Clima NOAA
(WX). Para confirmar, oprima el botón PTT u oprima el
botón MENU/ para moverse al próximo ajuste. Para
apagar la radio del Clima NOAA, oprima el botón PTT.
Se mostrará la configuración actual de la radio GMRS/
FRS y el icono se apagará.
ALERTA DEL CLIMA NOAA
Su radio cuenta con una función de alerta del clima NOAA,
la cual le permite recibir alertas autómaticas de tiempo de
emisoras designadas del NOAA. Para encender la alerta
del clima durante el modo normal de radio del clima
NOAA, oprima el botón de MENU/ dos veces mientras
esté en el modo normal de radio del clima NOAA. La
pantalla muestra "AL", mientras que a la derecha aparece
un icono "oF". Selecciona "on" oprimiendo los botones ▲\▼.
Para confirmar, oprima el botón PTT u oprima MENU/ . La
radio regresará a la banda WX y el icono continuará
parpadeando. Si la radio recibe una señal de alerta WX de
una emisora designada del NOAA mientras este en modo
de radio GMRS/FRS, la radio pitará por 20 segundos mientras
la pantalla cambiará automáticamente a la banda WX.
Para apagar la alerta del clima NOAA (WX), oprima el
botón MENU/ dos veces mientras esté en la banda WX. La
pantalla muestra "AL", mientras que a la derecha aparece
un icono "on". Selecciona "oF" oprimiendo los botones ▲\▼
Para confirmar, oprima el botón PTT u oprima MENU/ .
BOCINA EXTERIOR/ENTRADA
PARA MICRÓFONO
Su radio se puede utilizar con una bocina
exterior/micrófono o audífonos opcionales,
lo que libera sus manos para otras tareas.
Para usar una bocina, micrófono o
audífonos opcionales:
• Inserte la(s) clavija(s) a las entradas

INSTALLATION DES PILES
Votre radio fonctionne avec un bloc-piles NiMH ou des
piles alcalines 3 AAA. La pince de ceinture devrait être
retirée (voir ci-dessous) pour installer et retirer les piles
plus facilement.
Pour installer les piles :
1. Avec l'envers de la radio face à vous, retirez la
pince de ceinture pour un accès facile. Enlevez
ensuite le couvercle du compartiment à piles en
pressant au centre sur sa partie supérieure puis
faites glisser vers le bas. (Voir Figure 1)
2. Insérez le bloc-piles NiMH ou les piles alcalines
3 AAA en respectant la polarité. L'installation
incorrecte des piles empêchera l'appareil de
fonctionner ou peut l'endommager.
3. Remettez le couvercle sur la radio en le faisant
glisser vers le haut. Replacez la pince de ceinture et
assurez-vous qu'elle est bien enclenchée en position.
(Voir Figure 2)
INSTALLATION DE LA PINCE DE CEINTURE
Pour installer la pince de ceinture, faites glisser la pince
vers le bas dans la fente à l'envers de la radio jusqu'à
entendre le clic du dispositif de verrouillage. Pour
l'enlever, tirez la languette de la pince de ceinture vers
vous et ensuite tirez la pince de ceinture doucement
vers le haut de la radio. (Voir Figure 2)
RECHARGEMENT DES PILES
Votre radio a été conçue pour l'utilisation d'un bloc-piles
NiMH rechargeable (BATT3R). Il peut être recharché
en insérant une extrémité du câble USB dans une
source d'alimentation USB, et l'autre, dans la prise
de chargement USB de la radio ou dans le chargeur
optionnel de table (comme décrit ci-dessous). Pendant
le chargement les barres de l'indicateur de piles
clignoteront de 1 à 3. L'écran ACL affichera « FULL » une
fois le chargement terminé. Pour optimiser la durée de
vie des piles, rechargez le bloc-piles lorsque l'icône de
piles faibles s'allume. Retirez les radios du chargeur une
fois le chargement terminé.
REMARQUE : Afin d'assurer un chargement
optimal des piles il est recommandé de les
laisser se recharger alors que la radio est
éteinte.

INDICATEUR DE NIVEAU DES PILES
Votre radio est dotée d'une icône d'indicateur de
niveau montrant la puissance des piles. Plus
le nombre de barres est grand, plus les piles sont
puissantes. Lorsque le niveau est faible l'icône et
« bt Lo » clignoteront indiquant que les piles doivent être
remplacées ou, si vous utilisez un bloc-piles, rechargées.

MISE EN MARCHE/ARRÊT ET VOLUME
Appuyez sur la touche MENU/pendant au moins
trois secondes pour mettre la radio en marche/arrêt.
Pendant la mise en marche la radio émettra deux
signaux à tonalité différente, l'écran ACL affichera
plusieurs icônes durant une seconde puis le dernier
canal sélectionné.
Pour augmenter ou diminuer de volume, appuyez sur
les touches ▲\▼lorsque vous êtes en mode RX ou en
mode attente.
RÉTABLIR VOTRE RADIO EN
CONFIGURATION INITIALE
Pour revenir à la configuration initiale (par défaut), allumez
la radio tout en maintenant la touche ▲appuyée. L'écran
ACL reviendra au mode d'attente sur le canal 1 et sans le
code privé.
ÉMETTRE ET RECEVOIR UN APPEL
Pour pouvoir communiquer toutes les radios de votre
groupe doivent être configurées au même canal et au
même code privé.
1. Par souci de clarté, tenez la radio à au moins 2,5 cm (1")
de la bouche.
2. Appuyez et maintenez la touche PPT enfoncée,
parlez ensuite distinctement dans le microphone.
L'icône TX s'affichera et restera illuminée sur l'écran
ACL durant la transmission.
3. Pour recevoir un appel, relâchez la touche PTT. L'icône
RX s'affichera lors de la réception d'une tra nsmission.
À PROPOS DE LA PORTÉE
Vos radios ont été conçues afin de garantir une portée
maximale dans les conditions optimales possibles.
(Voir Figure 3)
LES CONDITIONS OPTIMALES SONT :
• Au-dessus de la surface de l'eau
• Dans les zones rurales sans obstructions
• Espaces plats où vous pouvez voir l'autre personne
POUR GARANTIR LA PORTÉE MAXIMALE :
• Veillez à utiliser des piles neuves ou complètement
chargées – des piles faibles engendront un signal
de faible puissance.
• Vérifiez que vous êtes bien sur les canaux GMRS –
les canaux FRS sont strictement réservés par la FCC
pour les émetteurs à faible puissance.
• Assurez-vous que la radio est bien configurée sur
une forte puissance.

SURVEILLANCE
Presser et maintenir la touche MON/SCAN enfoncée
pendant trois secondes vous permettra, grâce au son
émis, d'ajuster le volume de la radio sans recevoir de
signal. Ceci est aussi prévu pour vérifier si la ligne est
occupée avant de transmettre un message. Pressez et
maintenez la touche MON/SCAN de nouveau enfoncée
pendant trois secondes pour sortir du mode surveillance .
BALAYAGE
Votre radio peut effectuer le balayage des 22 canaux pour
détecter une activité éventuelle. Pour y accéder, appuyez
brièvement sur la touche MON/SCAN. Répétez la procédure
pour quitter. Votre radio balayera rapidement tous les 22
canaux et s'arrêtera pour six secondes sur chaque canal
en activité avant d'achever le balayage. Lorsque vous
appuyez sur la touche PTT afin d'effectuer une transmission
sur un canal en activité, la fonction de balayage cessera
et restera sur le canal en activité. Pour achever le
balayage, appuyez brièvement sur la touche MON/SCAN.
ALERTE D'APPEL
Votre radio peut émettre une alerte d'appel. Pour envoyer
une alerte d'appel, appuyez sur la touche /CALL. L'icône
TX s'affichera lors de la transmission de l'alerte d'appel et
pour confirmer, une tonalité retentira par le haut-parleur.

FONCTIONNEMENT SUITE
VERROUILLAGE DU CLAVIER
Afin d'éviter un changement accidentel de configuration
de la radio, appuyez sur la touche /CALL durant trois
secondes. L'icône s'affichera sur l'écran. Les fonctions
« PTT » et « CALL » resteront actives. Répétez la
procédure pour déverrouiller le clavier.
SÉLECTION DU CANAL (BANDE GMRS/FRS)
Appuyez une fois sur la touche MENU/ et ensuite sur
les touches ▲\▼pour sélectionner un des 22 canaux
GMRS/FRS. Pour confirmer le choix, appuyez sur la
touche PTT ou de nouveau sur MENU/ pour passer à la
prochaine fonction de configuration.
CONFIGURATION DES CODES PRIVÉS
Votre radio possède 38 codes privés disponibles. Le
code privé sélectionné peut varier d'un canal à l'autre.
Pour sélectionner un code privé pour le canal actuel,
appuyez deux fois sur la touche MENU/ et ensuite sur
les touches ▲\▼pour accéder à l'un des 38 codes
CTCSS. L'icône du code privé sur l'écran indiquera le
mode CTCSS. Pour confirmer le choix, appuyez sur la
touche PTT ou de nouveau sur MENU/ pour passer à
la prochaine fonction de configuration.
REMARQUE : La sélection d'un code privé sur « oF »
désactivera la fonction de confidentialité. Pour
communiquer entre deux radios, toutes les radios
de votre groupe doivent être configurées sur le
même canal et les mêmes sélections de code privé.
« VOX » (VOIX)
Votre radio possède 3 niveaux de configuration VOX :
(oF/1/3). Pour la configuration appuyez sur la touche
MENU/ jusqu'à ce que l'écran affiche « VOX ». Sur la
droite de l'affichage du numéro de canal une icône
« oF » apparaîtra. Sélectionnez de 1 à 3 en appuyant
sur les touches ▲\▼et sur la touche PTT ou en appuyant
de nouveau sur la touche MENU/ pour passer à la
prochaine fonction de configuration. « VOX » sera plus
sensible sur le paramètre inférieur que sur le paramètre
supérieur. Pour éteindre « VOX », appuyez sur la touche
MENU/ jusqu'à ce que l'écran affiche « VOX ».
Sur la droite de l'affichage du numéro de canal
une icône 1 à 3 apparaîtra. Sélectionnez « oF » en
appuyant sur les touches ▲\▼et sur la touche PTT ou en
appuyant de nouveau sur la touche MENU/ pour passer à
la prochaine fonction de configuration.
SIGNAL SONORE « ROGER BEEP »
(FIN DE TRANSMISSION)
Après avoir relâché la touche PTT, la radio bipera pour
signaler aux autres utilisateurs que votre transmission est
terminée. Pour configurer le bip Roger, appuyez sur la touche
MENU/ jusqu'à ce que l'écran affiche « rb ». Sélectionnez
« on » ou « oF » en appuyant sur les touches ▲\▼et sur la
touche PTT, ou en appuyant de nouveau sur la touche MENU/
pour passer à la prochaine fonction de configuration.
FONCTIONNEMENT SILENCIEUX
La radio est dotée d'un mode de fonctionnement silencieux.
Tous les signaux sonores et les tonalités sont désactivés dans ce
mode. Pour configurer le fonctionnement silencieux, appuyez
sur la touche MENU/ jusqu'à ce que l'écran affiche l'icône
« bP ». Sélectionnez « on » ou « oF » en appuyant sur les touches
▲\▼et sur la touche PTT ou sur la touche MENU/ button.
RADIO MÉTÉO NOAA
La radio possède une fonction radio météo NOAA
pour permettre à l'utilisateur de recevoir les rapports
météorologiques de stations NOAA désignées. Pour
allumer la radio météo NOAA, appuyez la touche ▲/WX
pendant 5 secondes en mode GMRS. La radio se placera
en mode de bande WX. Pour configurer le canal en
bande WX, appuyez sur la touche
MENU/ et l'écran
affichera la configuration du canal de bande WX en cours.
Toujours en mode de bande WX, appuyez sur les touches
▲\▼pour sélectionner un des 10 canaux de la bande
météo NOAA (WX). Pour confirmer, appuyez sur la touche
PTT ou sur la touche MENU/ pour passer à la prochaine
fonction de configuration. Pour éteindre la radio météo
NOAA, appuyez la touche PTT. La configuration en cours de
la radio GMRS/FRS s'affichera et l'icône disparaîtra.
ALERTE MÉTÉO NOAA
La radio possède une fonction alerte météo NOAA qui
vous permet automatiquement de recevoir les alertes
météorologiques de stations NOAA désignées. Pour activer
l'alerte météo NOAA (WX) au cours de l'utilisation normale
en mode radio météo NOAA, appuyez deux fois sur la
touche MENU/ en étant toujours en mode radio météo
NOAA. L'écran affiche « AL » tandis que sur la droite l'icône
« oF » apparaît. Sélectionnez « on » en appuyant sur les
touches ▲\▼. Pour confirmer, appuyez sur la touche PTT
ou sur la touche MENU/ . La radio se replacera sur la
bande WX et l'icône continuera à clignoter. Si la radio
reçoit un signal d'alerte WX d'une station NOAA désignée
lorsque vous êtes en mode radio GMRS/FRS, la radio bipera
20 secondes tandis que l'écran d'affichage passera à
la bande WX automatiquement. Pour désactiver l'alerte
météo NOAA (WX), appuyez deux fois sur la touche MENU/
en bande WX. L'écran affiche « AL » tandis que sur la droite
l'icône « on » apparaît. Sélectionnez « oF » en appuyant
sur les touches ▲\▼ buttons. Pour confirmer, appuyez sur
la touche PTT ou sur la touche MENU/ .
PRISE POUR HAUT-PARLEUR/MICROPHONE
EXTERNES
La radio peut être utilisée avec un haut-
parleur et un microphone externes ou
des écouteurs optionnels libérant ainsi
vos mains. Pour utiliser un haut-parleur,
un microphone ou des écouteurs :
• Insérez les fiches dans les prises
SPK/MIC. (Voir Figure 4)
• Insérez l'oreillette et ajustez le
micro à la position voulue.
