The app does not recognise the speaker in iOS 13
After updating to iOS 13, you will need to allow the app to access Bluetooth. To do so, in your
iOS Settings, go to your speaker’s app settings and turn on the Bluetooth access.
In case you have installed the app after the iOS update, you will be prompted with a message
requesting Bluetooth access for the app. In this case, just click on “OK” to give access.

My speaker is not recognized by the updater / diagnostic tool.
The Symptoms:
The UE Speaker Update Assistant Tool can't find the BLAST or MEGABLAST
The UE Speaker Update Assistant Tool finds the speaker, then loses it, finds it, loses it
and so on.
The Issue:
Logitech Gaming Software (LGS) is installed on the PC used to update the UE Speaker. Having
LGS installed in the same computer will create a conflict with the speakers.
The workaround:
Uninstall the Logitech gaming Software from the PC used to update the UE speaker
Try a PC that doesn't have the Logitech Gaming Software installed on it.

How do I update the software on my ULTIMATE EARS MEGABLAST?
Update using the app
Your ULTIMATE EARS speaker gets better all the time through regular, over-the-air updates.
These updates are quick and easy and can be wirelessly downloaded through your ULTIMATE
EARS speaker app. To get started, connect your ULTIMATE EARS speaker to your smart
device, open the app for your ULTIMATE EARS speaker, and tap on “More” to see if there are
updates available. If there are, just tap to begin the update and the app will take care of the rest.
Update without the app
While it is quickest and easiest to update over-the-air with the app for your ULTIMATE EARS
speaker, if you can’t update using the app or you simply prefer to use an old-school
desktop updater, we’ve still got you covered. Click on the Mac or Windows download link
below to download the update utility. After you download the app, run it and follow the on-
screen instructions. You’ll need to connect your ULTIMATE EARS speaker to your computer to
complete the update.
REQUIREMENTS: This update supports Windows 7 and above, Mac OS X (10.8.x) and above.

4
Can I pair BOOM, MEGABOOM, or WONDERBOOM with BLAST/MEGABLAST?
No, you can only pair other BLAST or MEGABLAST speakers together.
5
Does BLAST/MEGABLAST PartyUp?
No, BLAST and MEGABLAST utilize WiFi to pair, which reduces latency and increases the
range of paired groups of speakers. Because BOOM, MEGABOOM and WONDERBOOM do
not offer WiFi, PartyUp will not work those speakers and BLAST/MEGABLAST speakers.
6
Can I pair BLAST/MEGABLAST speakers with Echo speakers?
No, BLAST and MEGABLAST speakers cannot be paired with Echo devices.
7
Does BLAST/MEGABLAST support Alexa Play Everywhere?
No, BLAST and MEGABLAST will not work with Alexa’s Play Everywhere feature.
8
Why can’t you pair this with BOOM, MEGABOOM or WONDERBOOM?
9
How do I get the pairing feature in the BLAST/MEGABLAST app?
Once you’ve updated to the newest firmware, you’ll see the pairing icon on the app screen. Click
the icon and then you’ll see your main speaker in the middle of the screen. Next, you can drag
and drop another speaker, adding up to 8. Under the “Double” option, you’ll see “Volume Sync”
which syncs your speakers to your main speaker’s volume. You can also choose “Stereo” and
balance a left and right speaker for a stereo experience.
10
Can I use Alexa on multiple speakers with pairing?
11
Can you get stereo pairing?
Yes, with two BLAST and/or MEGABLAST you’ll get a stereo, left and right speaker
experience.
12
Is this a multi-room experience?
No, this is different from a multi-room experience. The same music plays on different speakers,
versus being able to play different songs on different speakers. This is a pairing experience
where multiple speakers can be connected together for louder audio.
13
Is the app free?
Yes.
14
Do I need to pair my speakers every time I want to use them together?
If you power the speakers OFF, the paring feature turns off. When you turn the speakers back
ON, you will need to pair them again from the app before you can use them as a group. If you
turn on and off the speaker for example, and want to come back to playing audio on several
speakers, you’ll need to pair the speakers again.
15
How many speakers can I pair?
You can pair up to eight BLAST or MEGABLAST speakers. Any combination of BLAST and
MEGABLAST speakers are supported for pairs.
16
Bluetooth-Taste bzw. Aktionstaste drücken, um sie zur Gruppe hinzuzufügen.

How to use the BLAST & MEGABLAST Diagnostic Tool
The BLAST MEGABLAST Diagnostic Tool is an application for your PC or Mac that lets you
recover an unresponsive speaker and reset it to the factory default settings. The tool also has the
ability to gather diagnostic information that can be emailed to Customer Care to help them
troubleshoot problems. The tool is available for Windows (10, 8, and 7), as well as MacOS
(10.10+).
Mac OSX Diagnostic Tool Windows Diagnostic Tool
Running the BLAST MEGABLAST Diagnostic Tool
1. Download the tool and then open it. Mac users should drag the file into the Application
folder. Follow the onscreen instructions to install.
2. Connect your speaker to the computer using the USB cable that came with the speaker.
NOTE: It’s important that you use the included cable as it supports data transfers. If you
need a replacement cable please contact Customer Care.
3. If possible, turn your speaker on. If your speaker won’t turn on, the tool will still work,
however.
4. Open the tool using the icon on your desktop, or from the Application folder on your
Mac.
5. If the speaker is not detected by the utility, check the USB connection between the
speaker and your computer, and then click Refresh Data in the upper left corner of the
tool.
6. If the tool still doesn’t detect your speaker, please contact Ultimate Ears Support.
7. Once your speaker has been detected, information for it will be displayed.

the speaker you’ll need to go through the app setup again before you can connect to Wi-
Fi or use Alexa.
9. Once the reset completes, turn your speaker on and use the BLAST & MEGABLAST
app to set it up.
Creating a Diagnostic File
If your speaker continues to be unresponsive after the reset or has other issues in general, please
use the following steps to create a Diagnostic File.
1. Open the BLAST MEGABLAST Diagnostic Tool.
2. Connect your speaker to the computer using the USB cable that came with your speaker.
NOTE: It’s important that you use the included cable as it supports data transfers. If you
need a replacement cable please contact Customer Care.
3. Your speaker should automatically turn on after being connected to your computer. If it
doesn’t, turn it on now. If the utility doesn’t recognize your speaker, click Refresh Data
in the upper left corner of the tool.
4. Under Reset To Factory Defaults, click Create Diagnostic File.
5. Review the information and then click OK to continue.
6. The diagnostic file will be created and automatically saved to your computer’s desktop.
IMPORTANT: If the utility doesn’t recognize a Serial Number for your speaker, add
something to the name of the diagnostic file to associate it to you, such as a case number
if you have one, or your first and last name.
