Enrolling users—The Umbra UM-305E Wireless keypad
Unlike a tradional keypad, the UM-305E is for user arming, disarm-
ing and onboard SOS only. The keypad is not for programming an
alarm panel.
For a user to be able to arm or disarm the associated alarm panel,
there rst needs to be a user code and/or RFID proximity credenal
set in the keypad, which in addion then needs to be enrolled into
the alarm panel to funcon.
The number of users, with associated RFID credenals available on
the UM-305E is 8. This means there can only be 8 users programmed
into the keypad to either use a code OR a RFID proximity credenal.
A user can have both a code and an RFID proximity credenal, but
they will be associated with the same panel user.
Once a user is programmed into the keypad with a 4 digit code and
with an associated RFID proximity credenal, that user then also
needs to be learned into the “keypad user” secon of the associated
alarm panel.
If the RFID proximity credenal is to be used on both the keypad
reader AND the panel’s on-board reader, it will need to be learned
into the RFID secon of the associated alarm panel AND the keypad
to be learned in as a “keypad user”
If mulple keypads are used, the number of users available is limited
to the number of users that can be programmed into the associated
panel. For example, 4 users on one keypad and the same 4 users on a
2nd keypad would use 8 user slots in the alarm panel.

13
Enrolling users—Example
The procedure to be followed for user control depends on the user
funcon. Here is an example below;
2x UM-305E keypads are to be used for 2 home users and 1 house
sier. The 2 home users will use codes and RFID credenals on both
UM-305E keypads and the RFID reader on the alarm panel. The
house sier will have an RFID Proximity tag to be used only on one
of the keypads.
Step 1: Program a user code for home user 1 and home user 2 into
both UM-305E keypads using the method shown on page 19.
Step 2: Program a user code (that will not be given out) into the key-
pad the house sier will have access to.
Step 3: Program an RFID proximity credenal for home user 1 and
home user 2 into the same user slots as their codes on both keypads
using the method shown on page 18.
Step 4: Program an RFID proximity credenal into the same slot on
the same keypad as the code that was set up for the house sier
Step 5: Enroll home users from the rst keypad into the associated
alarm panel as keypad users 1&2 (E1 & E2) see page 20
Step 6: Enroll home users from the 2nd keypad into the associated
alarm panel as keypad users 3&4 (E3 & E4) see page 20
Step 7: Enroll house sier user from the applicable keypad into the
associated alarm panel as keypad user 5 (E5) See page 20
Step 8: Enroll home user RFID proximity credenals into RFID users
on the alarm panel into RFID slots 1&2 (F1 & F2) see installer guide.

The system can now be armed and disarmed by home users 1&2
from both keypads with their codes and with users 1&2’s RFID prox-
imity credenals* at the keypads and the associated panel.
The house sier was not given the programmed code, but was given
the RFID credenal to one keypad, so they can only use it with that
keypad.

Key notes
Default user codes can be added at me of install to associate the
users with the alarm panel. This allows user code changes without
the need to learn the users back into the alarm panel.
Changing an RFID Credenal or user code on the keypad will not re-
move the user from the associated alarm panel.
Removing an RFID Proximity credenal from a keypad will not re-
move it from the Panel if it was also enrolled for the on-board read-
er. If the RFID credenal is to be completely removed, it needs to be
removed from both the keypad AND the panel.
The keypad is a stand-alone enty with 8 user slots.
Each user slot has the opon to have a 4 digit code and an RFID prox-
imity credenal.
Program changes on the keypad do not eect the alarm panel.
The alarm panel is only controlled by the keypad, when a keypad
user is enrolled into the alarm panel.
*To change RFID proximity credenal funcon, see page 18
